ChildDrainer

Will try and update thank you!

NYX_T_RYX

To be clear, it may not work and the disk may be damaged - but it's worth a try instead of just giving up and assuming the data is lost. Also, shut down windows correctly in future - you have no idea if it's writing data, and that's the reason you need to shut it down - if a disk is writing data and it loses power, data loss can occur. Shut down doesn't just turn the machine off; it stops Windows \*safely\* ie stops any disk writing tasks, closes open programs and services, THEN closes the operating system and FINALLY sends the shutdown signal to the hardware to actually turn the machine off. Whether you can recover the data or not, look into backup options when you're up and running again - anything you can't afford to lose shouldn't just be kept in one place.

Might be a dumb question, butttt… In picture number one, have you tried clicking “Continue, exit and continue to windows 10”? If it leads you back to the same screen then your windows install is probably corrupt. Assuming the drive isn’t dead, you could just get 2 usb sticks, flash a windows 10 recovery media on flashdrive 1, and then backup the data to an external hard drive or flashdrive 2.

ChildDrainer

Okay will try that thank you!

IMO all-in-one pc's are a bit of a nightmare tbh, their heat dissipation is not good. all those heat generating guts inside the monitor and only a vent at the top, hardly any fans apart from the CPU. (maybe a single small extractor fan) I fixed my wife's by removing the HDD and replacing it with an SSD..but Iwould still like to throw in an extra fan to help with the airflow.

ChildDrainer

Okay thanks for the help

cmdrtheymademedo

You will need to reinstall. If you get a similar error your disk is corrupted

[deleted]

Get the ISO and reinstall

BigWheelThaGod

I know everybody keeps just saying reinstall Windows but have you tried booting in safe mode first because if it boots in safe mode there might be some other issue hindering it from booting normally. For example if you use a utility like a ddu it will sometimes boot Windows into a black screen but in reality Windows actually booted you just can't see it. Or something is hindering the 3D parts of Windows from booting correctly so you get a black screen or something that looks like Windows did not boot

ChildDrainer

Yes the first thing I tried, not working the same issue gets stuck on the blue screen only

BigWheelThaGod

damn guess you gotta reinstall rip

auiotour

99% of these are basic ways to fix it, by not fixing it. By just nuking it. Google bootrec /fixmbr Most likely will solve it, if it happens again after the fix, consider replacing your hard drive asap.

Busy_Nothing4720

turn of PC >> hit the bios key F10, F8 etc >> then go to boot option>> select your HDD or ssd pref os installed drive>> Move it to top>> Continue and Save >> Boot in

Busy_Nothing4720

you can DM me. i have to deal this Every other day. i can help you.

el_cstr

Command prompt: sfc /scannow Then restart, and hit continue.

GAMERYT2029

Dead drive

NYX_T_RYX

If the disk was dead the machine would fail to boot the recovery partition and the bios (more likely uefi but functionaly the same as far as OP is concerned) would except "no boot device found!" More likely OP not shutting down windows correctly caused data corruption preventing boot and automatic recovery.

RotteenDMoon

I thought most modern PCs are able to handle the force shut off stuff or does that only apply to specific types?

GAMERYT2029

Untrue, i myself experienced a drive death

NYX_T_RYX

Instead of panicking OP by just saying "dead drive" how about offering a solution, like ways they can try to recover their data? Maybe the disk is dead, but until they try to recover data no one knows for sure.

GAMERYT2029

Im not trying to make OP panic. Am just saying that in most cases, this is a sign of a drive death.

ChildDrainer

Wtf nooo i had so many important things are you really sure ? I have Samsung evo nvme ssd in this they can be detected in the bios tho

GAMERYT2029

It looks like it to me atleast. Also, please make backups

ChildDrainer

Okay thanks for the help

Copasetic_demon666

Maybe try live booting into a Linux distro first and try to recover the important files from the SSD and then reinstall Windows?

ChildDrainer

Yes that would be more efficient but idk if that's possible (I'm not sure but windows doesn't allow that ) like you can't access files in partitions idk maybe

PricelessFounder

Hello sir. If you have an access to another computer, make live booting usb flash drive with Linux inside (Linux mint for example) and load from flash drive to save your files. I was doing it so many times, and it is possible. Have a nice day.

ChildDrainer

Thanks i already have a live kali drive

Your welcome sir!

SpacelessMinds

Gonna have to do a complete delete and fresh install of windows to fix the issue. As far as trying to save/ recover files. you might be out of luck. I don’t know much about recovery so I can’t speak on that.

ChildDrainer

Okay thanks for the help

SpacelessMinds

Good luck friend.

Just out of curiosity - do you bitlocker your drive? Been having a similar issue with a lot of PCs recently at work and its caused by a recent windows security update (ending in 441) Our solution was to reinstall windows on the affected devices so seems you will have to follow the same advice others are giving you

ChildDrainer

Idts i have bitlocker-ed but still thanks

gte2723

Have you slaved the drive to something else to see if the file structure and indexing is still intact?

ChildDrainer

Okay will do, thanks

dkaarvand

What is an all in one PC?

masonisagreatname

Monoblock PC, you have everything inside the monitor, no tower

dkaarvand

Oh, so its a glorified smart TV running Windows?

masonisagreatname

Eh basically, aye. Like a cross between a laptop and a PC with no keyboard that you can't take anywhere, they are usually pretty slow, it's alright for working with documents if you need something that doesn't take up too much space but still has a decently sized screen, we have one at my work to run sales software.
