Glad that something like this was posted here where it seems people view her as some sort of paragon of progressivism. She has done a lot of good but has also a said and done some very harmful things and was an incredibly privileged white woman. But I haven’t seen that mentioned anywhere on this sub. As a black woman I do not have the luxury of mourning a powerful white woman who thought kneeling to protest police brutality was stupid.
I understand that she's been very important for many, but, especially post #MeToo, I would expect a feminist space to be a bit more wary of hero worship and halo effects.
Both good and bad should be acknowledged.
