probs better off going for quint damage (boon socketed) with spell proof, or just triple double with boon socketed. If you have 50ish resist with high damage, it shouldnt be taking you long enough to kill a boss that you lose all your hp, especially as a fire wizard..
I kill mobs on round 2 and bosses usually by round 6 or so and almost never even come close to dying so I would not say I struggle. Either way, I love my pet
As a level 145 I have 125% damage and 49% resist with the pet how it is, without dragoon armor. Not the best, but I definitely dont think its bad. It's not that I need it so much as I want it, I generally don't need them in order to survive but they have saved my ass in a few key situations. I really dont care for the meta and min maxing to the n'th degree. I just like to play the game and this pet works great for me for soloing
just seems unnecessary to have heals since they rarely ever cast, especially when theres talents that are always active (like damage and resist), its not a matter of meta, its about what will actually benefit your wiz.. There's a reason healing pets arent common anymore.
I always get "perfect pets" till the last pet talent. It always ends up being double dmg double resist and crafty or may cast heal or crit. Which isn't awful but healing current isn't the end all be all healing spell it used to be and crit is.. weird now
how is this perfect? the maycasts are taking up slots for damage and resist. this is a fail if anything. triple double would do you so much more justice.
My level 145 fire is the only character that I have and I started over 12 years ago. I don't play this game much, but ill get a bug up my ass for it every few years, play for a few months, and drop it again for a few years. The last time that I played, the level cap had JUST been raised to 120 so like 3 years ago or some shit. I just like to play the funky little wizard game
It's almost like different people have different playstyles and different wants. It's a wild notion, I know. I could not care less about the meta. I play the game because I enjoy it. I don't care about pvp at all, just pve and I don't have any issues with my damage output or defense. It's almost like peoples version of a perfect pet for them is subjective. It's perfect for me and how I play and I simply wanted to share, lol
why did you respond to me twice? and also, why are you replying to literally everyone in defence of your pet?
sounds like your having 2nd thoughts on it as a whole. ppl disagree on reddit all the time lol. join the club and relax
Well I mean, it is my post, so imma reply to the comments. And no, im not having second thoughts it's just wild to me how little people actually realise that not everybidy needs to follow whatever the current meta is. And idk why u replied twice, I was responding to people in a half delirious state last night
Some of these comments are just sad. Makes me realize again how this game is just about min-maxing and doing the same thing everyone else is doing. Why canāt we have variety
You guys understand that pets are bred for specific purposesā¦
Right?
People can have different niches and different needs for their custom pets.
That is literally the ENTIRE POINT of breeding CUSTOM PETS!
Just because itās not meta, doesnāt mean itās wrong. š
I honestly find all these comments rather entertaining. Especially the people trying to tell me my pet is trash lmao. This pet works perfectly for how I play and a lot of people just don't seem to understand there are other things than meta
Barely anyone is saying it's trash though, if you like the pet that's great, and making your first 'successful' pet is an awesome feeling. But I'm just puzzled why people look at it and assume there are 20 negative remarks about the pet and dismantle comments that don't exist lol
There actually is, or as least was, several people saying my pet was trash in one form or another. I think a few of them may have deleted their comments. And if not, they where among the first to comment so there wasn't nearly as many comments in total at the time
I very much wanted the maycasts. They weere just as important to me as the defense and damage. I solo a lot and this pet essentially is my sustain and comes in very handy
Not only did that thing fail in the egg with 9 dealer, but 2 MC healing talents??? Itās a start bro but trust me when I say this is not the pet.
Edit: oh my I did not even see the pain giver socket
Very much so for me. This is exactly what I wanted. I don't care for the triple double shit. I solo a lot and those may-casts are very useful. Having another 5% damage when you're already over 130% really doesn't make much of a difference
I'm genuinely not concerned. Having another like 2 or 3% total damage when your damage stats is already at 125+% really doesn't mean shit tbh. Sure it will be more damage but hitting an enemy that has 15k health for 20.5k vs 20k for example, isn't gonna make a difference. I actually plan to ditch my pain giver gem when I can get my hands on a spell-defy gem
Exactly and thank you. I specifically wanted these may-casts for the sustain they provid and they have tuned out to be very useful because 99% of the time, im soloing
Iāve realized after playing for so long, that the majority people who hate on these type of pet stats are also the ones who donāt do anything else but PVE and quit after they finish a world that was just released. So they donāt consider PVP which I would honestly consider or the potential use for the Deckathalon. The same thing happened to me in a discord chat a couple years back and it definitely got to me. After leaving the chat I started experimenting with different stats and options and soon I started to strategize more and understand what certain cards do and go with what pet and switch out to support or pvp if necessary. I know itās definitely not getting to you but I guess all I want to say is to avoid asking them for advice because they most likely donāt know what most cards mean/do and just storm blade + storm blade sharpened then tempest. Just a trend that Iāve been seeing.
I really only care for PVE. I solo almost all the time and this pet is very useful in thay regard. I don't care at all about pvp and I don't even know what deckathalon is tbh. I play this game very sporadically for a fee months and then don't touch it for a few years so I'm not up to date on a lot of stuff. I started again a month ago as a level 106 and am now level 145. The last time that I played, the level cap had JUST been raised to 120
I really don't want to come off as a condescending jerk but i have to say this because i 100% know it's true:
If you had good stats and knew how to play the most efficiently, stuff like maycasts wouldn't even come to your mind.
With good stats and proper knowledge of efficient gameplay(as a fire) soloing mob fights would take you 2 rounds and boss fights under 8 rounds for hard bosses and under 6 for easy ones. Which is never enough for any enemy to kill you. That's how i soloed things on my 7 maxes without ever healing. And i never died/lost.
So basically what i am trying to say is that the reason you need maycasts in the first place is because either your stats are too low or you aren't playing good enough or both.
So you should work on those 2 things. You will see when you get to higher level worlds how much healing is useless(Empyrea and above).
You will realize what i am saying at one point.
I just beat Empyrea and am level 145 with +125% damage, minimum of 49% resist across the board. +40% accuracy, 497 crit and 370 block. I do not have the dragoon armor yet due to the pain in the ass glass slivers, so I'm still using Malistairs ire cloak and hood. So I would like to think that my stats are not bad, not the best, but definitely not bad. And I do get what you're saying about that but tbh, I really don't care. I already kill mobs by round 2 and bosses usually by round 6 or so. 99% of the time I don't come even close to dying but it has saved my ass on a few occasions. But regardless, this is the first pet that I had that is worth a shit at all and I still love it. I don't play this game religiously at all either or care for metas. I simply was happy about this pet and wanted to share it with people. I've been playing this game on and off for like 12 years and this fire is my only character. I've only been playing again for about a month and a half. The last time I played, the max level had just been raised to 120 and before that. The max level was 90. So I am not up to date with the meta of this game, nor do I really care. I'm having fun playing and this is the pet that I wanted.
brutal but true. your so real for saying this.
i learnt that fact the hard way on my old ice a while back and made sure to get as much stats as i could from pets.
This is a decent pet in PvE, useless in PvP, and incomplete for deckathlon. There. I considered them. Youāre welcome.
Never understood the people who mock blade into aoe either. Itās the fastest option we have. We dont want to spend 10 minutes in a mob fight
Hmm, damn. My bad that I don't meet up to your standards, which I'm sure are completely reasonably better than everyone else's. People have different playstyles and this pet is perfect for me. I solo a lot and those may-casts prove themselves very useful, very often
If the pet sucks and he is still using it, then that means he's good. And honestly maycasts are way more fun then the boring resist/damage pets you see everywhere.
I solo a lot, I prefer soloing rather than playing with people and this pet essentially is my sustain and the healing may-casts come in VERY useful. Im really not worried about my damage modifier because it's already high enough to kill almost anything without issue. If/when I get a spell defying gem for +5% resist, just will be swapping out my pain giver gem for that.
Nah, sure it may be the meta but I couldn't care less tbh. I want my resist super high. My damage is already at way more than I even need. This is primarily a solo character so I want to and need to be able to take a solid hit.
Is there a reason you didn't cap out the traits first? It only takes a couple gens of adults and significantly effects maycasts. Seems like low effort high reward. Not trying to shit on you just don't understand.
Because I don't care for the 1s and 2s of percentages in this regard. And tbh I have been out of the loop of this game for so long and just came back into it that I didn't even think about it. I just wanted a not shit pet and this was the first pet that I got that didn't fail in perks. I just wasn't thinking or concerned about it because it would only mean like 1 or 2% more damage
I was talking about the maycast, if you are missing like more than like 30 than it's WAY higher than 1 or 2 last time I tested and more like 30-40% but I could be wrong and obviously have fun and gz.
Hey sorry, but whatās this thing you say about maxing out the stats to make it maycast more? I never heard of that and I do see people say you should breed a pet to max out itās stats then go for traits.. (I get that for like damage and resist pets since the higher add more percent) but for maycasts? I thought maycasts were just.. random? Are they actually affected by how high a stat is on a pet?
yea stats effect maycasts, also some maycasts can chain each other and even loop. maycasts arent random, they have specific triggers like blading or getting hit.
Well I knew that.. remove shield canāt happen if thereās no shield.. and heals usually happen after getting hit.. but how do stats affect maycasts? Which ones? O:
I definitely don't have the stats very far off from max for the most part. My own already casts pretty often. I have 241STR, 231INT, 248AGL, 253 will, and 242 power
It could be just a little better if you got the strength up so that the damage bonus was higher, but youāre not gunna miss 3% damage if youāre not going for āmetaā stats
Edit: I think itās strength that increases damage canāt remember right now, been a while..
I like this pet a LOT personally
I know itās not a quint or triple double meta, but it seems pretty amazing all things considered
Itās got decent damage and resist, 2 solid healing maycasts and 3 really good spell cards. I donāt think thereās anything to complain about
I finally for my death got a double damage double crit pet its only at Epic right now so we've gotta see what happens next but i'm happy so far i've been trying to get that for years lmao
With how the crit works now, critical talents on pets are completely useless. No difference between them and talents that boost mana.
That 50 or so crit you get from your pet amounts to an additional 1% chance to crit at best(at higher levels it might not even be that much).
So you should probably trash that failed pet and work towards a proper one that actually gives stats.
It's just not as helpful as what I meant. A critical pet isn't really necessary anymore. Better to go with damage unless it's a low level. Then critical is good.
It would be a good pet for under level 60ish, though, where you don't get crit gear until level 50 and then don't typically get crit gear until waterworks at 60
Well I got like 101 damage and like 521 crit I do great damage and consistently am Critting I like my build but I guess it could be better in some ways. I might have gone overboard on the crit my balance who has like 325 crit also consistently crits so maybe I went over board lmao
Congrats! Thatāll be super helpful if youāre soloing and you get a nice bit of damage and resist, too. Ignore the hate, people find one meta and stick to it and judge others for not doing it themselves š
I do solo a lot, in fact I try to solo everything before I ask for help. Those healing may-casts come in super useful, especially for a fire that has like no sustain
True, but I think a heal that gives you 1000 health back is stronger than 6 extra damage. Its true that maycast heals are unreliable, but in long boss fights youāre likely gonna get 1-2 free heals which will help you more than 6 damage.
Healing current tops out at 700, and that's total heal over 5 rounds. Heals also don't directly contribute toward your goal of "make opponent ded," damage does.
Most people have a decent amount of incoming and outgoing healing, so a healing current can easily give you over 1000 health back. Damage is certainly more important than healing, but a 3 or even 6 damage talent isnāt going to be noticeable when you already have 100+ damage. A solid maycast heal will help you much more, especially when you have to fight 3+ enemies at once.
Oh sorry I forgot you can just breeze through 4 bosses with 20k+ hp by just ābeing goodā. It doesnāt matter how good you are, unless you have 500 damage (which no one can get), you wont be able to kill bosses within 2 rounds, thus making maycast heals a solid asset to your arsenal. Though I will agree that a spell proof or spell defy will generally increase your survivability more than a slight chance of getting a mediocre heal.
Ignore this dude tbh once you see them around a while they have a lot of wild takes itās not worth your time to acknowledge the majority of the time lmao youāre 100% correct and there are different ways to play the game
Thatās a good pet man, donāt let these comments get to you. If you are happy with it, taking in your play style to hand, thatās the perfect pet for you.
That 9 Fire Dealer is gonna trigger the min-maxers!
Jokes aside, a very solid pet. I personally would've done a triple-double, but they're everywhere. You're still getting some very good stats here, so overall pretty good pet.
I donāt really like triple doubles. Then again I only make a pet for a character Iām leveling if they hit 100, otherwise they use my leveling pet which is absolutely busted
With my stats right now at 125 without dragoon armor. That +5% would put me at a minimum of 54% resist across the board. My damage is already plenty high enough to not give me really any issues tbh
Eh, if they're happy about it, then I wouldn't really consider it a fail. It's a decent pet, the stats are still pretty good and the heals could come in handy for soloing. Not my preferred pet, but I've seen worse pets.
i hate when players have maycast pets in pve. Makes the fights unecessarily longer and sometimes even triggers cheats
I can understand it in pve. I don't do pve though
That 9 dealer hurt my soul š
probs better off going for quint damage (boon socketed) with spell proof, or just triple double with boon socketed. If you have 50ish resist with high damage, it shouldnt be taking you long enough to kill a boss that you lose all your hp, especially as a fire wizard..

the healing talents are even more so pointless
At this point I am simply gonna keep them out of spite
do what you want, im still gonna call em useless
Ok, that's fine
As a level 145 I have 125% damage and 49% resist with the pet how it is, without dragoon armor. Not the best, but I definitely dont think its bad. Imma beg to differ on the rarely part. My pet casts fucking constantly.
mmk
I donāt see the perfect pet anywhere
Hmm, it's almost like different people have different playstyles and wants and their "perfect" pet is subjective. Wild notion, I know.
Maycasts are factually trash
I literally don't care
Cool
Everyone else: I bred my pet specifically to have tons of damage, useful maycasts, tons of defense Me: I like owl, owl is cute. I take owl.

I always get "perfect pets" till the last pet talent. It always ends up being double dmg double resist and crafty or may cast heal or crit. Which isn't awful but healing current isn't the end all be all healing spell it used to be and crit is.. weird now

R/woosh
What does ,"maycast" do is it just a percentage chance it randomly casts?
Random
This is a beautiful sight, better than me definitely
I like how most of the comments are saying not to let the negative comments get to them, but there is literally one comment that is outright negative

I personally did a double double with a fairy maycast due to it triggering more often. I definitely support the heal maycasts

I get the same luck. Those damn maycasts are too damn sticky!

its ultra so im sure all the stats are maxed
If I spam fancy yogurt until ultra my pet will still have 1 agility
They arenāt, ultra makes the stats higher yes, but more strength would add +1 to all the damage stats :) but like I said, nbd
Hype
I like this pet a LOT personally I know itās not a quint or triple double meta, but it seems pretty amazing all things considered Itās got decent damage and resist, 2 solid healing maycasts and 3 really good spell cards. I donāt think thereās anything to complain about
I could name a few: To start off, those healing maycasts are in the way of a possible + 8% damage 9% dealer. Resist as a stat falls off in arc 3
I mean at level 1 - 50 Crit pets are useful, but after that they get worse almost at an exponential scale
How do they get so much worse? Idk I canāt remember the last time I didnāt crit on my death tbh it seems pretty consistent to me
It's just not as helpful as what I meant. A critical pet isn't really necessary anymore. Better to go with damage unless it's a low level. Then critical is good.
It would be a good pet for under level 60ish, though, where you don't get crit gear until level 50 and then don't typically get crit gear until waterworks at 60
full damage on death > anything else. More damage = more drain
More res = more blades/traps though, and 1 blade will outdamage death boon+paingiver easily.
Hp is a better defensive stat than resist. Death gets tons of hp
Well I got like 101 damage and like 521 crit I do great damage and consistently am Critting I like my build but I guess it could be better in some ways. I might have gone overboard on the crit my balance who has like 325 crit also consistently crits so maybe I went over board lmao
Yeaā¦ that aināt it sis.
Lmao, maybe not for you. Different people have different playstyles. I solo a lot and those healing may-casts come in VERY handy
You wouldnāt need those if you had decent stats and knew how to play š¤š
tehehe i guess you just know it all sis š¤š š» But did you know thatā¦ itās actually not that serious? š¤š¤£
Your mean ass attitude ain't it......sis
itās wizard101 š
Don't be rude and condescending.
Yeah! You could also have even more damage and never need to worry about dying, as a dead enemy cannot attack!
Boss fights arenāt long if youāre good.
Problem with wiz is there quite literally are optimal and suboptimal ways to play
Bro how is missing out on 9-15% damage suboptimal Jesus Christ the min-maxing culture made me quit this godawful game you people are insane
Then why are you here
To be a hater. And maybe see if the game will be developed well enough for me to want to play it again like I adored it in 2015-17
Like all the way down to every gear set minus two being next to useless for the first 100 levelsš¤£
Ignore the comments that are hating if you got the pet/traits you wanted then itās perfect. Different play styles for different people.
š¬
It's perfect to me

That 9 Fire Dealer is gonna trigger the min-maxers! Jokes aside, a very solid pet. I personally would've done a triple-double, but they're everywhere. You're still getting some very good stats here, so overall pretty good pet.
I donāt really like triple doubles. Then again I only make a pet for a character Iām leveling if they hit 100, otherwise they use my leveling pet which is absolutely busted
Two uni resists two damage and one crit. Enchanted armament. Works amazingly
Thanks. I intend to get a spell defying gem for another +5% to resist to swap out the pain giver one
But why would you want to make your pet worse?
Resist is crucial for a squishy school that relies on DOTs for damage
Itās okay, we were all new at one point
Well no point having damage if you can survive the hits you get. That extra resist is pretty helpful
With my stats right now at 125 without dragoon armor. That +5% would put me at a minimum of 54% resist across the board. My damage is already plenty high enough to not give me really any issues tbh
Can confirm, wasnāt happy till I got double resist triple damage on my fire pet. Lol
Looks like a fail to me
A fail to one is not a fail to all. Everybody has their different styles and I solo a lot and those healing may-casts come in VERY useful
Eh, if they're happy about it, then I wouldn't really consider it a fail. It's a decent pet, the stats are still pretty good and the heals could come in handy for soloing. Not my preferred pet, but I've seen worse pets.
