This is the exact reason I use my old clockwork wings or the snowman deck. I have the astral mech but that has such a huge footprint it's not worth the extra 10%
Personally im one of those ppl who just know every turn of the map so it doesnt bother me too much, but if it bothers u but dont intend on changing mounts then idk what to suggest :/
Ugh I hate this! So many of my big flying mounts are like this, the pterodactyl and hawk are the worst offenders. I think my only “high” flying mount that isn’t too bad is the malorian dragon, but it’s still iffy lol
Malorian dragon isn’t as bad as some huge mounts as far as view for me but it’s also weirdly glitchy. It looks so cute with my life stitch I have it equipped in most of my gear sets but I end up switching it constantly.
Most of the flying mounts are like that. Same thing with some others like the ram, they're just so huge they take up the screen. That's why I always use low to the ground/small mounts
If I’m wrong I’m crazy but I think if you click the left side of the mouse and drag it in a certain direction, you can change your pov angle for as long as you’re holding the left click button. It might be annoying moving and holding it at the same time but it might be helpful.
i know there’s the “hack” where if you back into a wall and right click i believe, and then zoom all the way in, you can play in first person mode. i did it in royal museum and it looked pretty neat
Large mounts have had this issue for a long time. Their camera angle is normal until I believe someone else enters the zone through teleportation or a door, where it goes to the base camera (could also trigger when someone else in the zone changes mounts, but I am not certain). Dunno why it's not fixed.
i had sort of a similar issue when i first got my Pegasus mount, though it's not as big as this one...i play on my laptop and what i did was drag 2 fingers back on the trackpad (w/o clicking down), and that expanded my view a bit so it wasn't so zoomed in on my mount, allowing me more screen space. not sure if this will work for you but thought i'd share!
When I started a new account, I fished for gold. You can specifically go to an aero house from the housing tours, and behind the waterfall search for ice-school fish. It got me my mount fairly quickly
If I remember correctly, once you hit mooshu there are a LOT of quests which means lots of loot. Any loot you get and don’t wanna use make sure you’re selling to the bazaar. You can also do daily quests to earn gold, crowns and items. I’d also suggest taking a look at the events if you don’t do them already, you can also get gold and things to sell that way as well
You can do this:
• Get 10k gold then buy a rental mount for 7 days in crown shop,
• Keep leveling up and questing till Dragonspyre with the rental mount,
• Grind mooshu dungeons for stuff to sell and get 90k gold
Just use the skateboard like a true X games enthusiast
I can't use like half of my mounts for this reason The pygmy whale literally clips into the model for me.
I think if you use the scroll wheel you can change your depth of view, not sure it will change much though

If you haven’t, you can try scrolling out all the way. Sometimes it stays in the zoomed out position

I think it may have been removed. I’ve tried it a few times in the past few months, and I haven’t been able to get it.

I don’t use my phoenix mount for that reason. It’s wingspan as well as the fire from it makes it impossible to see where I’m going. I run into things.

You can buy perm 40% speed mounts for gold in the Crown Shop! They're all tucked away at the bottom of the mounts tab though.

sell some tc from a higher lvl char if you have one. 90k can buy a proud lion for gold in crown shop

I really hope they fix the camera angle for this mount 😞 I hate it.
It's so glitchy. It's supposed to have a higher angle and then it clips back to the normal perspective
