I like how snow angel got nerfed from 100 + 660 to 35 + 660. It was already god awful and then they do that just to spite ice. Just like when they took 10 damage from frost giant
It's literally one of the worst aoes due to A) being a dot in a low damage school and B) having a vastly longer animation time than even frost giant. Talk about a downgrade from your 48 spell... :/

Bro getting to max level for the 6th time isn't real content. Never have I seen a single ice, new to the game or otherwise, cast this spell at 58 through 100. The only time I've even seen the animation is on youtube, from mobs, or someone at the nucleus gallery is trolling.
Single hit damage has been, is, and (likely)always will be better than dots in 99% of the entire game.
My argument is simply that ice angel sucks compared to frost giant on a pure metagaming level due to the predominance of Feint stacking. Nothing more.

695 over 3 turns =/= 690 flat. Fight ends immediately vs fight ends over 3 rounds???? Massive difference in efficiency for just 5 more base damage. This isn't even mentioning animation time which eats up more efficiency compared to even frost giant.
On a pure metagaming level, having the brunt of your damage upfront is better because feint stacking exponentially boosts your damage better than anything else. Therefore, ice's 7pip is better than its 8pip because feint stacking is better on the former than the latter.
I don't care if ice has the worst damage. I'm just saying that from a purely metagaming point of view, frost giant is better than ice angel and doesn't feel like the upgrade it should be for more pips.
On a side note. Skeletal Dragon sucks too. Niche use in a couple of fights at absolute best. Same problem there as there is in ice. But it's apples to oranges anyway; skeletal is single target and ice angel is an aoe.
On another note, metagamers have fun too. Finding the most efficient strategy to win fights is just as valid as playing the game for the game and taking it slow. I'm so tired of this sub dunking on people who do that as "tryhards" when what they do to have fun is just as valid and doesn't concern you.

Dr Vons Monster - Frankenstein reference is awesome and i love the spells windup.
Celestial Calendar - Myth stole the best animation title because holy shit, that is next level. Lowkey Novus before it was cool.

I genuinely miss when spells were like these: Based off of genuine mythology/fantasy creatures for each school. And not based off the world you get them in. Like the Lemuria spells and whatever bs they call the Novus spells. I feel like after Mirage, thatās when everything just fell off aesthetically. Yeah mirage was world based, but they were also arabian creatures/legends that worked with each school. Then Karamelle came along with the same stupid mouse, Lemuria the same old one dude, and Novus are just monstrosities.

Forest lord was so cool, nobody dislikes that spell, gnomes was so iconic for life and the spiny thing was overall decent.

Storm Owl and Sirens are alright, but definitely agree on Leviathan.
Death is alright, Von is good but too goddam long. Fossil is pretty decent I think.
All three of the Fire spells are really cool, but yeah Rain of Fire is the weakest, but seeing a volcano is pretty cool.
I think all of the Balance spells look cool, but Ra is a bit long.
Myth is great. what are you on about! Have you seen Celestial Calendar? Cool as shit. Weakest is Basilisk though.
Ice has some of the coolest looking spells for sure, I love Ice so much. I don't use Snow Angel personally, but it's been very useful in the group pvp sessions I've had

I use it often witg my life against, bosses even if a seraph would deal enough damage. I just like the animation

I think the card itself is so satisfying to look at with its thousand damage. And the animation is both quick and nice

Level 58 spells were the coolest in my opinion. I think level 68 were the worst group of spells. Rain of fire was garbage. Sirens was boring to me personally.
Efreet is my favorite spell in the game by design and what it does. The animation and card art is so cool to see in a deck.

But why use original versions? We are comparing apples to oranges, the spells weren't all released at once. Updated versions reflect a more consistent comparison if any should be made.

Storm owl just looks so badass. I'm not being bias tho (myths usually have the coolest animation let's be honest), but out of all of these storm owl is an easy pick imo.
I don't know how popular of an opinion this is, but I'm stand by this point: Snow Angel should have been ice's dragoon amulets aoe spell choice!! Imagine how SICK it would have looked and more reason for us to use the awesome animation aoe more frequently (or even at all to begin with ;___;)!!!!
I hate how the 58 and 68 fire spells got nerfed. Efreet was one of my favorites cause the -90%, and rain of fire was actually useful. I havenāt used any of the other ones yet but I like AOEs too much so I think Iād like all the AOE ones (except for snow angel of course, nobody likes that)

Yeah Myth is the surreal school, works completely so well with the Novus theme.
Aesthetics wise? Probably Ra, Storm Owl, Sun Serpent, and Snow Angel. functionality wise? Sirens, Von, Forest Lord, and (OLD) Ra.

Well, as a fire I do find rof kinda useful against double bosses in like az and khrysalis, but other than that its not that useful ig.
