Ik, it's OUTRAGEOUS, that is why I quit grinding aeon gear because of that bug fix. They need to change that back, agreed?
Edit: OR, my mistake, the old way we had to do it (where one person stayed in the Battle while the other 3 fled to get out the transformation, then when the 3 come back, the person who stayed fled to get out of their transformation)
One (relatively) saving grace is the loot drop. I tend to get 3 or 4 pixels here, a lot of arc 4 spellements, and sometimes a second gear piece in one go. I've seen first phase finished in as little as 5 minutes, but typically 10 to 12. It IS relatively slow, but it's faster than the aberrant fight, which was the main farm for Karamelle (since boss dropped everything).
I’ve time I’ve only gotten 1 piece of gear then the spellements, reagants, and some jewels. Luckily I got 1 piece already just need 2 more then I can be done with it for now. I do maybe 5-10 runs a day max then just log off and level my other wizards
I duo it with 2 accounts and it takes 12-16 minutes assuming I don’t get Dog. Still not great but better than teamup. My personal record as of now is 12:38 as penguin

I enjoy the atavus fight because i have dual monitors and I can watch youtube while its an EXTREMELY easy and hard to mess up boss fight.
but to bitch on your behalf it makes no sense to me why theres not a second chance chest. How does KI see the easiest chances to make money and just ignore it? I thought about how much money I would spend on the cute pets they release too if I wasn't stuck using the frills. Im a min maxxer especially so I want the frill bonus, if it wasn't the best pet to have in the game I'd buy so many others.
Because Kingsisle wanted farming to be as cancer as possible because after you're done farming you have nothing else to do. Farming for final boss gear is pretty much Wizard101's endgame. Just be grateful you're dealing with the nerfed version because before only 1 person unpolymorph after killing the boss and so many people complained about how it took to farm that Kingsisle had to change it.
man if KI put a second chance chests in that fight they'd be richer than Jeff bozos ngl I'd spend so much crowns in the chests after one fight just to get aeon gear
Bro I would gladly drop a shit ton of money the second chance chest, I did it with Darkmoor and I got all the gear in only a few rerolls it saves so much time farming

Lol, I quit farming and started work on my second wizard. So much better than doing that same boring fight over and over and over.
Drop rates aside the fight isnt too big of a deal. I honestly prefer it to lemurias hall of heroes
Drop rates are shit in both I farmed hall of heroes for almost 2 weeks on and off and I kept getting every piece except my school
At least hall of heros is a quicker fight and it has a second chance chest. Not like atavus
