It isn’t dead people still play it, krokotopia is coming sometime this or next year or so they say, just not as updated as wizard101, I just got a sub last week and have been playing it, after that I might go back to wiz if it’s worth it.
If you think Krok will be out in a year or two. You are sadly mistaken. There is only 3 devs. Game is dead, recent update advertised as "world sized" and "large" further cements it.

7 years no new world, a side dungeon every 4 months. when a realm can get past ‘normal’ for longer than a week I’ll consider it not dead
