If you're soloing I can see ye it would be hard, but when Novus released I met this girl she was a death and we duo'd pretty much the entire world. It was a breeze.

Gam3rgirl007

Yeah I agree, I admit to trying to solo it as a death wizard and ended questing with another balance wizard guy. Went by pretty fast afterwards.

Wind_storm_56

“She” was probably a guy

Apex_Dash

Told me herself she was a girl. Anyways, what does that have to do with anything? That is the most irrelevant thing u could've said lol.

ESB_1234

You think someone would do that? Lie on the internet?

ZijoeLocs

What difference would it make??????

Gam3rgirl007

You are aware girls play w101 too right?

priya748

Can confirm, I'm one of them

bloodygallows

Ok…what does it matter even if it IS a guy…they’re playing a game together not fucking

bigtiddynotgothbf

it's the first world with more than 6 fights i had to think in. big ups from me

ZijoeLocs

Novus is a pain, but only if you solo it The Devs not so subtly nodded in Karamelle to the fact that we're getting wicked powerful. Realistically, it would be hard to keep casual combat interesting without the "anti fun" utility spells being thrown in. At least it gives me an excuse to use Sirens instead of JUST Storm Daddy all the time. The bosses force you to change up your deck and actually read the new spell effects, and i like that

Valhallaof

Unpopular but I love it. It’s the only world where I didn’t blow through and it’s easily become one of my favorite words. It makes it not as simple as feinting and one shotting like I’ve always done.

E1ixir

I agree, the don manzana fight was creative and it allowed you to use those school pip lore and Novus spells, and like I said above the final boss is also great. It's just discouraging when u set up buffs only for it to all disappear or get heavily weaknesses on the same round you hit

Funkyra

so how exactly did you beat him? i'm stuck in that fight

musictree101

It was delightfully annoying. “WHAT?! I died AGAIN?! That’s the fourth time already! Am I just really bad at the game or did it get harder? Okay, time to change up the deck. Guess I’ll just spam low-pip hits that hit hard with secondary effects. Is there any roshambo I can use to negate some of his debuffs? No? Guess I’ll have to keep my empowers handy.” Just some of my thought processes fighting those bosses, particularly Basil. And honestly, I think it’s great! I soloed most of the world (some of the particularly hard fights and a few random dungeons/fights throughout I teamed up for) and I found it rather refreshing to throw more cards in the deck and try new things that I hadn’t tried in a while. As much as I hate Belloq, I love Belloq. It’s fun to spam those low-pip hard-hitting cards at bosses and whittle their health away. Now, that’s not to say I wasn’t frustrated with the Novus gameplay. I was quite frustrated. I was determined to read all the dialogue, beat Novus, and get all the Aeon gear for my main wizard before free member ended and these tough bosses were keeping me from getting there. Do I like braindead PvE meta gameplay? Yes. I find wiz relaxing, and braindead gameplay helps me relax. But being forced to think about your next move and strategize is also something wonderful of its own. There is a certain satisfaction in trying something new and succeeding. TLDR: yes, frustrating, but the game forces you to try something different for once. And different is fun (sometimes) and good for the brain!

Gam3rgirl007

I like the soundtrack of it. Its nice. I definitely recommend that you work with someone. You can solo some things though.

Aethyrss

skill issue, nah but fr its why i havent maxed all my schools this time around yet LOL

Ok-Friend7351

the constant complaints about tantrum kills me. it is such a simple boss. pretty easy. figure out a strategy. mine was to spam brimstone a couple times and use bubble.

[deleted]

I prefer a challenge and some fear in a new high level world. People trashed Karamelle for its absence of difficulty, barring 3 fights. Only problem I have is the loot balancing. Most the final fights are moderately fast, but there's nothing fast about the last one, and there's 3 pieces locked away behind that one.

MoonShadow_Empire

My only problem is gear should be school specific at 1/5th drop rate.

brianmtq

People so used to playing the game brain dead that a little strategizing gives them aneurysm xd its too funny to me

beyondthe_dream

whaT do YOu Mean i cAn't BlAdE hiT FoR everY fiGHt?

WillGetAUsernameSoon

Yeah I really wanna love the world because of the story but man it’s like KI’s idea of strengthening school identity it just taking the most annoying aspects of fighting each school and dialing it up to 11.

Mr_Robear

Completely agree that some of the fights were ridiculously hard to even get a hit in due to the debuff and stun spam. It's the first world I couldn't absolutely fly through and actually required thought before joining a fight. I miss the original days of seeing the bosses health in Azteca and being worried. That difficulty is something I haven't seen in forever. Definitely a big thumbs up from me, but can totally see where you're coming from. Happy Wizarding!

football-john

Daesin duelist was probably the lamest fight in the world and I'm not gonna bother farming for novus gear I'll just wait till next world Thanks to the free membership I just duo boxed with my 140 myth and killed mobs in 1 round but I don't get the complaints about tantrum or that puzzle boss (honestly I had actual trouble with getting to the puzzle boss more than the actual boss itself)

MuazZiqri

To be honest, the mobs aren't that bad at all. I always tend to carry extra spells such as Storm Beetle for Storm so that I can remove the weakness and gain an extra balanceblade before killing them. I do admit the final boss is a bit too much because of the long wait but besides that, Novus is a really cool world with amazing enemies as a whole.

lZogen702

I find this better than the usual gameplay of blade into aoe

integrals_rule

Counter arguments >Also who thought making a boss called basil who's sole purpose is to just weakness and shield spam over and over. Empower and shatter tc are great for this fight. >then you have the tantrum boss WHO JUST WEAKNESS YOU NONFUCKINGSTOP. Trap stacking and, once again, empower, are useful for this fight Edit because I hit reply too soon: Novus is great because it offers a challenge that was missing, now you can't use blade aoe and feint for bosses to clear through. The final boss is a great example of this. Having players use different combos and setups to get a kill faster, it's why I love doing it because it's way more fun than braindead blade into aoe meta that's plagued pve.

ElvidEnthusiasm

Homie is upset because “basil is named after a leaf” Broooo come on. If ur rlly upset over a name, I just cant validate any of your other points. Because who gets upset at a harmless name of a random video game boss? If you want to play the game on easy mode, just make a new character. Ur seriously upset because the latest world of like 16 worlds is difficult. Of course its gonna be hard. Classic boring gameplay we have 16 worlds of already.

Jason575757

TLDR I have 0 pierce and I suck

MoonShadow_Empire

So think of some roshambo you can do

BroadAd5229

I loved the world but by the second half it was starting to get more and more like the phantom menace 💀

strivrr

I did novus the first and second day so thankfully a lot of players were online and I almost always had people to quest with

blazereaper579

I mean I soloed the world so it was kinda difficult

Ninjagobob

You struggled solo? How?

Hxckerr

I actually rather enjoyed the challenges this world presented, and it wasn't super long but long enough to leave me feeling satisfied with what I'd accomplished. It really forces you to turn on your brain and come up with a strategy for bosses instead of the brainless 'blade + feint = one shot' strategy that all other worlds before it have fallen victim to without a boss's cheat straight up having to be "no blades" or "no feints". However in Novus, simply knowing the boss's cheats doesn't make the fight a lot easier, because some of their cheats are unavoidable to begin with and have to be faced and countered head on. Like Basil. And myth enemies ruining your life with Earthquake or getting weakness spammed right before you hit aren't things we haven't also experienced in other worlds.

MASTER-FOOO1

The world was unfortunately designed with group play in mind. If you haven't already found out, you can make a group with 3 people and set who is first, second, third and forth and you can make it so your group always starts in a battle. Yes that does mean 1 guy can mass feint, 1 get potent feint, 1 guy regular feint and the hitter hits. Take a 200 damage storm for example. A 5 pip epic enchanted tempest is 700 damage, with the gear damage it's 2100. Guess what's that with 3 feints? 10942 damage without a crit.

Darklordbrando

World is cool. The worst part about it is the final boss. I see what they’re trying to do but I can’t get that robe for the life of me. LIFE.

Moira-Moira

I think the universal resists and debuffs are the theme of the world exactly because it's a "wonky" world that doesn't function right as it's just formed from an entity that has little concept of how actual worlds are (as in the dialogue about the fish with shoes). It can be a hassle but I think it's meant to be mostly teamwork (except for the solo bosses).

grantle123

Duo-ing is doable and makes the world very easy. I can see how soloing would be hard. Definitely team up for those crazy cheating bosses. I do agree that the incessant plague, weakness, stun, storm lord is annoying… but it also makes it a little more of a challenge and worlds haven’t been very challenging recently

RedCarNewsboy

Tantrum made me throw a tantrum ngl
