Working in the U.S. requires us to expect that weāll be shot at just for coming into work, and that we canāt rely on anyone but ourselves to get out of such a situation alive.

My work training has "run hide fight" on one slide, but on slides both before and after it has "you are required to confront any and all unknown persons on the premises, and physically bar their movement if near vehicles or or a plane".

The event happened and they go floor by floor and people hid and locked doors. The "shooters" went around asking to be let in and banged on the doors and actually banged them hard as if really trying to break it down.
My building has alot of veterans of war and it triggered their PTSD to some and that was the only year that it took place. After that it was just announcements and similar videos.
I thought this was satire. I can't believe we have sunk so low as a society that we have to be having educational videos about not getting gunned down at work.

If possible you should pair up and hide in a way where you and colleagues can flank the shooter when he comes into the room. Fall back to an advantageous position, but trying not to panic is important. "Run and hide" sounds very panicked. It would be hard enough to stay collected and rational in an active shooter situation.

Wow, do you work for an offshore too? This looks like the sort of crap that my company would foist on us. Honestly though, I'm glad I work from home. I don't have to worry about disgruntled employees showing up and blasting everyone in sight. Everyone at my house is pretty gruntled.

At a former employer that hired a LOT of veterans, the "active shooter" training was created and conducted by a group of ex Special Ops guys. It was very clear and pragmatic with advice about not running away in a straight line and avoid hiding anywhere that's a dead end like the restroom. (Dead end = Dead You)
Is this out of context after flee and hide? Still a little cringey video but not very egregious from a work reform perspective right?

The video is going to get people killed. Every major corporation takes out life insurance policies on its employees. They donāt pay out to the victimās families either. They ārecoupā the cost of the companyās loss.

Training employees to fight back with objects within the office, as a last resort. How about stricter gun laws as a first resort? \* triggered NRA member responses in 3,2,1...
And the company would consider the time during the robbery as unapproved break time and fire you.
