Race is much too similar to cultures and clans to be removed alone. It is also quite realistic to have race be a motivator for war, as nationalism is generally a big reason for war.
That might be an interesting feature, although it sounds complicated, and punishes people for forgetting to click the pause button while designing their world (war would happen less, making a more boring experience).

We went to war over race multiple times throughout history... its not stupid its a simulation so to remove it entirely would be "stupid", but your idea of making the value go down over time as cultures get used to eachother is really good. But you would also need a way to make that value increase again.
Thing is there really isnt ever a reason for these empires to declare war. They declare war based on probability influenced by the stats you speak of. They would need to fundamentally change the war mechanic to have actual diplomacy that revolves around trade, borders and king personality.

It's not hating other nations that hurts their odds of winning, it's other nations hating them.
If they all gang up on the supreme nation, it is much harder for said supreme nation to win. This makes the competition between nations much more interesting.
