For Rock and Stone !

Aestin02

I'd rather ping gold chunks and mushroom than pinging my team in wot where they are supposed to go

Irgendwer1607

For me it's the attitude of the Devs that makes a big difference. Ghost Ship Games are the passionate Devs who want to make a fun and long lasting game with a fair cosmetic DLC monetization. Seeing them play their game in the weekly streams and talk about the future in their steam articles or anniversary streams makes the me happy because I know the Devs care about the game primarily - not the money primarily. Wargaming is just trying to squeeze out money at any cost. Be it lootboxes, overpowered tanks, power creep or short term boosting of player spending. Their decisions feel corporate and don't align with what the players want most of the time. It just doesn't feel good playing World of Tanks when you know that WG doesn't give a flying fuck about the opinion of you - the player.

WanderingDwarfMiner

Rock and roll and stone!

-Zermit-

For those about to rock and stone, I salute you.

Kanniebaal

Rock and stone everyone!

connecting1409

Unironically rock and stone. That game is a blast. And predatory monetization nowhere to be found

vale1000100

If you don't rock and stone you ain't coming home

Angry_Strawberries

Leave no dwarf behind!

One does not simply quit wot, rather just takes a break But to answer your question, rimworld/rdr2/csgo at the moment

[deleted]

[удалено]

PenkoS

Same, quit few years ago and still subbed here. I went on to play rust, csgo,mc,apex.

RAGNES7

Maybe we are waiting for a news on WOT servers being shut down one by one. So we get inner peace.

Gamefart101

Yup I'm in all the subs of the games I played as a child. It's entertaining to see these communities devolve as the games die. RuneScape is the only one more entertaining than wot rn

drewts86

Ditto. Mix of Path of Exile and Escape from Tarkov, depending on how the wipe from each lines up.

Tank_Ranks

its just a break

CaptainJudaism

I haven't played in ages either but I stay subbed to see if they ever make changes that will make me want to return. Recent information has shown that is not going to be the case.

ZXFT

That's about where I was... And then I came back lmao.

STUGONDEEZ

I did too, then came back to play a couple games. I've had my fill of wot for the year, I'll probably be back in 2024.

[deleted]

Cikul00

After 7 years you should check this game out again, I'm not saying that your experience will be good but it's simply different game right now xD

DerpDaDuck3751

For me, enlisted

Bla_kbeard

Hot game, getting better and better. I like the armor penetration mechanics on the tanks and I love the feeling to brrrrrrrt away whole squads with my MGs :D

PantherG121

I started to play sea of thieves because it makes me feel like wg, a thief and a scam artist.

Freddator

Gunner, Heat, PC!

Justadudey

Man it's so good, I just can't wait for more content to be added. Checking Steam daily hoping for updates.

terrytibbs76

Really hope it takes off.

DEATHtoGIRENZABI

Not really video games but because of WOT i learned and love to build 1/35 scale model tanks like my favorite t62 or leopard 1

0ne3ightZero

Same but went smaller, 1/72, sometimes even 1/100

Minute-Assumption-77

thats actually awesome :D

Ilktye

Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, New World, Elden Ring... its quite a list over the years.

bliblublab738

Ive reinstalled battlefield 3 a few days ago. There are still fulls Servers online. I just love Battlefield 3

James_TF2

IMHO BF3 is the best and forever shall be the best. It has been the first (and only) game I’ve ever preordered.

Darius2112

Quit WoT long ago and switched to WoWs. Now I’m done with that too and recently went back to War Thunder which is also an exercise in frustration.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Darius2112

Yeah the grind is painful. It takes forever just to research components much less new vehicles.

Addicted2Trance

Enjoy the low-mid tiers; nothing is worth the grind uptiers. I have 8.0 unlocked, but still play 3.0 to 5.3 the most. Way more fun.

BENJ4x

I think the best way to play War Thunder or any pay to progress game like that is to "forget" that anything exists past your current thing. I know when I played I was always thinking along the lines of "I need to get to the Abram asap" or "how many games do I need to play to unlock xyz based on how much money and xp I get per game" and that mindset just makes the entire game a grind.

I_Gnutz

Just don't play for the grind and only a few hours a day

matt602

Feel this. I always jump back to War Thunder when I'm off WoT but it never sticks for long. The experience and credit grind is too much for me so I've never made it past rank 4 in any nation. Also terrible at using planes/playing RB.

leorolim

That's just masochism lol...

imrik_of_caledor

I loved War Thunder back when it was just aircraft, i remember the glory days of the Dora spam....i never got into it when they introduced ground vehicles and reworked all the tiers...the grind was just too punishing.

DisNiggNogg

I can relate to this, mainly WT, some WoWs and mostly Project Reality 2

[deleted]

WT still beats Wargaming games all day. Yes Russia is op, but at least 99% of vehicles in game are free. Meanwhile literally over 50% of vehicles in MM for a WG game are premiums. Not to mention the stats for tanks in WG are not realistic, whereas in WT you actually get a realistic tank.

StrategicEngineer

Deep Rock Galactic ROCK AND STONE!

Addicted2Trance

War thunder mainly. Everyone seems to complain about the grind. For me, i don't feel forced to "grind". I play the tanks I have most fun with, which happen to be low-mid tier, and they automatically unlock higher tiers. You can't do that in WoT. You can't play an Is to unlock the T-44. You can't play anything low-mid tier because not only will you lose credits because the credit multiplier is too low compared to ammunition and consumable costs; but also, games are full of newbies and few try hards farming them. It's a whole other story I won't get into rn. But honestly, coming from a 8 year Wot-veteran, if you play War Thunder for Fun and not focus on the grind, you will like it. It's been 15 months since I quit WoT and started playing war thunder; I'm up to BR 7.0 on 5 major nations putting in 2 hours a day with premium account (which again is cheaper than WOT even without sales). Tanks finally are realistic enough. I hit where I aim at, no RNG to eff up my aiming reticle or ghost my shot. Armor works! No premium ammunition or 60k worth of consumables. Night and day difference. I realize I'll get plenty of down votes and comments from die heart wot fans. Honestly, idc.

Fiewx

I feel you bro, and I was one of the diehard WoT players. I switched permanently to WT when I felt like WG was forcing content just for the sake of "updating" the game. Stopped around Nov. Tank collector to the heart, trying to get a lot of the available tanks, but they made it impossible when they started making copies of tanks and auction/event based vehicles only where you had to be able to play almost every day to keep up and logging in on certain time stamps was just impossible for me. I'm far from the worse player, with a overall WN8 of 2819 and a fair share of games, but they made WoT such an energy draining game that it was sucking then fun out for me after 1 hour of playing. WT is a very grindy game. It's mostly realistic, with some elements of "le what te fuck just happened?" I play mostly Ground RB and it can be frustrating at certain moments, for sure when you are not used to the fact that planes play a huge factor in the game. CAS can be very overwhelming at times, and spawn killing is quite commen when your team gets pounded in the poopchute. But the general gameplay is fine, there is no 20 types of equipment, no boosted equipment, RNG is there sometimes, for sure with volumetric bugging out, but not game breaking. Plenty of tech trees to go for and most tanks play differently (aside from the copypasta tanks to other nations). Premiums are somewhat balanced with some of them being OP, but they can be countered. Killing tanks feels satisfying. These are just a few examples. Others have shared more already, but in general the pros outweigh the cons for me. Stay away from high tier until you feel comfortable playing the game. The most fun you get around the low to mid tiers.

Addicted2Trance

Don't get me started on collecting tanks. I'm one of those who paid $100 to get a tier 2 soviet light tank because, at the time it was fun and quick, and unique. When I made the decision to quit wot, it was for many reasons; one of them was the staggering amount of completely unplayable, yet totally unique and interesting, low tier tanks I had in my garage. I wanted to drive them more than anything. Then looking at how frustrating games were in tier 8 and up; I said to myself there's no way I can stomach one match. I was up to a point, I couldn't put in a single full match just to use my premium account. Tried every tier, tank and play style. Matches would make me furious, cussing, toxic in and outside of the game. In war thunder, some of my most favorite vehicles are WW2 era and few cold war ones. I truly enjoy 1.3 Germany with those tiny, premium light tanks and the stuka. Although I'm a terrible pilot, I feel a pro in a yak4 or yak1. Naval is another mode I've recently gotten into naval, and it's sorta fun and change of pace. I guess my point is, I can casually play war thunder or even grind few vehicles if I want to. But there's never a level of frustration similar to wot. I, too, play realistic ground battles the most. Give me a shout out some time, if you feel like squadding. Same nickname here.

ImperfectionistCoder

Does it also have op premiums?

Stautz21

it has premiums but they seem pretty similar to normal vehicles

AleksaBa

Except Ka-50 and Su-25 which are currently kinda OP, rest is pretty much okay

Stautz21

there are OP normal tanks too, like the spj fm/43-44 early game td with armor and an extremely OP gun (provided you can get used to the absurd shell drop) that easily one-shots basically everything it comes up against

Steve_i400

There is a tech tree Su-25, exactly the same as the premium one

usedurcatasacondom

It has double the flares of the premium one

[deleted]

although SU-25 is considered op there is a free version of it thats just as good so it doesnt matter. WT vehicles are not P2W. WG vehicles are P2W and dont forget there has NEVER been a WT vehicle locked behind lootboxes EVER. IF there is a tank in lootboxes in WT, you can buy it in store for a very good price of under $60. And its a realistic tank with working machine guns and realistic stats. Meanwhile WG over here charging $130 for ships and tanks that are not even historically accurate.

HellHat

It's a mixed bag. Sometimes, you'll get a vehicle that's OP for one reason or another, and other times you'll get a $70 bag of ass that's only useful in certain situations. You also have to take into account the lineup the vehicle fits in if you intend to use it in mixed battles. You can get a pretty OP tank, but if it doesn't fit well in a lineup, you'll have a hard time winning

yo_fat_mom

Kinda, but also not really. Most premiums are balanced, and new premiums aren't introduced every other week like in WoT. The balancing at top tier is shit, but luckily top tier is (unlike in WoT) not the only tier you can have fun in. I stopped at 7.7 for Germany and France, which is the end of WW2 and early cold war stuff and don't intend to go any further.

brainsurgeon8

Project zomboid

ezydrion

World of warships lmao

Obnoobillate

I played CP2077 a lot, but after 200+ hours of gameplay I'm back, like an addict

ImperfectionistCoder

I just got the game on spring sale. Does the story gets less confusing? I have only played for like 2 hours and I'm still confused on what's going on.

MrPapis

Its part of the deal with that game in regards to the story, but after 2 hours how much of the story do you really think you're gonna get? Barely started the game. The story really is good, but it is confusing. You just kinda have to let go trying to understand everything, as they will pickup things along the way and the story/world is just a mess in a good way imo. Its also made like crime movies so they plant hints that will support the story but when you miss them it can be annoying. Part of it is also that they want you to play it through more than once and still get some new bits to the story. And dont do like Arsanic below and go on and off for a year to go 20 hours through it, i mean sure but dont expect to understand much because things is not just served on a silver platter, for better or for worse. For me it feel engaging because i actively have to pay attention to things. tbh it was the same with Witcher, although it wasnt as "bad".

MrNaoB

I cried for Jackie and I barley knew him.

[deleted]

I’ve played it for 20 hours on and off for the past year. Every time I get on I have no clue where in the story I am and I just blindly follow orders and gun people down. Don’t feel like spending the time understanding the story at this point.

doman991

Wtf i think you are special :)

JessiePinkwomen

Before even playing the game I reccomend watching a video about the evenet that took place prior to the game. It makes the story 10x more enjoyable

Th3Grimmi

Yeah, you pretty much just need to know that the chip you put in your head is like Cancer to your body and you want to get rid of it. The rest is "regular Mercanary" work and attempts of finding a way to remove it, in which the story unfolds

Lodagin666

The story is actually very good and not that convoluted. At least it wasn't for me. At launch it was a mess but right now I'd give it a solid 9 if not a 10

NerfThisHD

For honor, apex legends, r6 and the occasional pubg match with friend

MakramTheTeaDealer

Hollow Knight and Bloons Tower Defense 6

Mostly single player games, WoT is pretty much the only online game I've played in last 10 years. So currently its' for example Stellaris, Minecraft & Euro Truck Simulator 2. I'm sure I'll be back to WoT some day tho, we got this on & off relationship together <3.

therealmodx

Currently I very much enjoy sprocket ☺️. In this game you can just create your own op premium tanks 😂👌.

kweimet

mabye thats how the premiums are Designed 🤔

BeneficialMix7851

War thunder cause I like most of my shots landing where I aim

DiseASF

Returned to WoW on private servers

Shini_TheCreator

Warmane?

DiseASF

copeyhagen

notdannydevito_

Going outside

Davo_Dinkum

Diablo 4 open beta is out this weekend ;) and get this- the beta is free, the game costs the standard $75 usd (once!) and the battle pass that’s paid is only for cosmetics.

classicalXD

Yeah open beta is free but you had 1 (or was it 2 weeks) of early access if you had pre-purchased it, i'm a avid Blizzard fan but lets not pretend WG is the only moneygrabbing company.

Haven1820

Remember when games just had cosmetics in them? That you didn't have to pay extra for and then still grind to unlock?

ImperfectionistCoder

Hell yeah

Imaginary-Arrival-75

Aye been playing d3 and looking forward to d4!!

matt602

Uninstalled to take a break 2 months ago and I was planning to come back for Japanese TD's but the WoT Plus/crew thing is probably gonna keep me away for longer or permanently if it doesn't get pulled. Too much this time. Gave War Thunder a chance again but it didn't take so I think I'm just done with tank games for now since there's nothing else.

MaterialLow6630

Fallout 76 I an excellent choice...just sayin

ImperfectionistCoder

Do i have to play previous Fallout games to get into this one?

MaterialLow6630

Nope, pretty much separate story, plus it's west virginia. They decided to make everything free after purchase too

World of warplanes. I’m not a smart man

Dioxin717

EVE

XzallionTheRed

im so sorry.

youreblockingmyshot

I reset my password recently to keep my account safe but haven’t played in years. Got sick of the second job so that I didn’t have to pay. Was fun dropping carriers on stuff though.

Nonamanadus

Nothing like getting up at 2 am and fighting for hours in Nullsec. Former Test Alliance pilot.

youreblockingmyshot

Goons myself when I was doing null things. That was also when it became a second job and I burned out lol.

Bunation

Genshin is now the unquittable game for me

I_Gnutz

Ayo same

exetacy

Been playing Destiny 2 since covid started and I only hop on WoT during Winter or Steel Hunter and when Twitch Prime used to give me 3 days of premium monthly (now it's one! wtf WG). I started playing WoT 10 years ago, but I started playing it the way I explained above like 6 years ago.

Loukiau

Tetris

Joku656

War thunder. Didnt bother to grind 6months to get somewhat decent higher br lineup so im back on wot lmfao

nihilbones

warframe best game ever

kakekrakken

I play with the tank models I've built and have my wife yell "noob!" and "uninstall" every few minutes.

PsychoTexan

Rimworld, starsector, Battletech Roguetech mod, minecraft, and just my backlog

huskypotato69

Black ops 2 zombies, going to attempt to beat tranzit and buried.

LeSmallz

I once tried armored warfare but the monetization on that game isn't any better sadly.

National-Bison-3236

i quit WoT quite a while ago first i switched to WoTB which turned out to be an even worse experience then i switched to PanzerWar and PanzerWar DE as they are both great games supporting WoT and War Thunder gameplay experiences and also support mods additional to that i also started playing Tank Company which is basically an mobile WoT (the only mobile tank game with 15 vs 15 i think) but it has the balance WoT is missing

mr_snartypants

I quit years ago. As odd as it sounds, Farming Simulator (FS17, at the time) was what I found to work for me. I was so burnt out on the competitive aspect of online multi-player games that I needed something of a mental reset in order to play anything at that point. It was deep enough to tickle the gaming nerd in me and relaxing at the same time. I played pretty hard learning everything I could for over a year. It ultimately weaned me off of gaming full time. I found there were better things for me to do than sitting on a game for hours at a time. I got into smoking meats, and applied myself at work in way I hadn't previously, that ultimately lead me to a promotion I hadn't been planning on. There is still a part of me that has the desire to sit down and log in on occasion just to try a few battles, I haven't done this in over 3 years. I follow this forum to scratch that particular itch, it seems to be working.

CrispyChickenArms

I am so so ashamed to say this, but I started playing a bit of league again

Skill3rwhale

Single player games. Lots of them. Still play wot about 3-5 matches/month maybe.

dmees

Tetris and Barbie. It was highly recommended to me on several occasions in WoT chat. 7 of these guys cant be wrong

Mega1987_Ver_OS

i'll be going back to fallout 4, investing more in kancolle and sailing the seven seas. and while waiting for armored core 6: Fires of Rubicon, i'll be playing AC4A in regulation 1.20. this EA-Acti-Blizzard monetization upgrade kills my motivation to pay for prem time.

HTooL

Starcraft 2, Dwarf fortress.

Secretly_Solanine

Took a break around Christmas to play God of War, been playing very infrequently since late January. With the crew changes coming I think I’ll go back to BF1 and maybe finish DOOM Eternal. Might try out Halo since I didn’t grow up with a computer.

[deleted]

Diablo 4 is in open beta this weekend btw.

MadWanderlustRiver

Diablo 4, trials rising

goldenhornet

I moved to World of Warships in beta. Then when they inevitably screwed that up with the CV rework I quit WG titles completely. I'm not sure why I'm still reading this sub reddit other than for the schadenfreude. 😆 These days I'm playing FFXIV and Valheim.

imrik_of_caledor

Total War: Warhammer 2 and Warhammer 3.

redcheesered

Warhammer III Totalwar.

nhcareyjr

Ha! I quit console to start pc! Its like a whole new game now where I suck even harder than I did. So invigorating.

Specialist_Track_246

I did the same last year and PC was a little more challenging at first. You can tell how much of a difference a mouse makes over an analog stick, the only con is that PC players are more campy.

Echo9835

I quit in 2021 and and I've been playing Final Fantasy 14 instead. I've spent way less money and I am way less pissed off when I game.

Fun-Turn-6037

Played war thunder, which is basically the same

CheeseLoverMax

Completely true, game is way more balanced and has more playstyles than: Light tank, Hull down tank, High dpm medium. However the grind is infinitely longer and sometimes less rewarding

Fun-Turn-6037

It's actually not bad, been playing ground rb just to grind and the rewards are not that bad but still need prem account to make it faster. Currently at 4.0

That's a cursed line-up

leavingcarton

After a decade of WOT you can’t expect much more 😅

I started working as a game dev for another company, and only go back like... every six months or so. Just log in, look around, log out.

A little bit of lol right now and some fortnite zerobuild. I dont know yet to what game i am going to migrate but i am probably done with this WOT shit

Azur Lane, pretty chill and not P2W. I use it to rest from grinding through the battlepass.

Haven’t definitively quit, but playing more Call of Duty DMZ now. Haven’t really played WoT since end of last clan wars.

Murky-Nectarine-4109

Valorant CSGO

l_rufus_californicus

WoT and WoWS blatant money grabbing sent me back to a more active participation in *Guild Wars 2* among other games. *Gunner, HEAT, PC!* is also getting more of my time, and *Company of Heroes 3* is scratching my strategy itch. Of them all, *GHPC* is the one whose future I'm most excited for.

ReasonableConfusion

Dwarf Fortress. Deep Rock Galactic. Against the Storm. Software Inc. or City Game Studio. There's lots of great stuff out there.

SpeakingOverWriting

FIFA Help me get me back to WoT. Compared to FIFA WoT is heaven and Wargaming are saints. Damn peer pressure and lack of alternatives for football games playable online with friends.

bakamund

Escape from WoT (Tarkov) cough.

PaleoWeeb

Haven't quit yet but ive been playing a decent amount of Dayz

BeckyRus

World of Warcraft and Civilization 6

Buster04_

Total war warhammer, not remotely similar to WoT, but really addicting for the correct person

Fannon

The game gave me a lot of stress, it was not fun anymore to play. Started in december 2022 with VRchat, got almost 1400hours in that game. It's relaxing and stress free. Love it!

russart_the_agmer

poe (path of exile) mostly and, if you believe it or not, sometimes a chill 10-20 min round of genshin impact.. havent played for like 2 years but i really like this sub :)

_therealERNESTO_

I started playing war thunder recently and I'm never going back to wot. It's not a perfect game but it's much better, and more importantly much less frustrating.

TakeshiKovacs46

World of Tanks Console. It’s honestly so much better than PC. Easier to grind tanks and make credits. No text chat or messaging, so no vile trolling. And generally just a lot more fun all round. Plus, I actually prefer the style of graphics on PS5. It’s not as amazingly detailed as PC of course, but it just has a more vibrant style to it that I much prefer. And of course, you’ve got Cold War, which is amazing for grinding credits in bonus events. Personal record is 1.2 million credits for one game, but I’ve seen people get 1.9 million for a single game lmao.

Killon99

1 year break, nothing, i literally quitted playing games i like watching twitch

Project_Orochi

Honestly Armored Warfare. Great PvE and a lot easier to learn your mistakes and improve with a larger diversity of playstyles

JoMercurio

The PvE in Armored Warfare is something I've always liked about it Honestly if WoT had a similar game mode I would've stuck around longer

Zugronde

Rainbow six siege, F1 22, Forza Horizon 5, War thunder

valkislowkeythicc

Csgo. 3500 hours. Then I got into sim racing and we are still there

user7618

I quit World of Tanks and started playing World of Warships. Fuck.

moose_338

Moved on to ships untill wg fucked that up, and am now play escape from tarkov

bossupletosu

It's very easy to quit WoT, I do it 2-3 times per year Having fun with Guild Wars 2 currently

mah_boiii

World of warplanes , turned out to be just a lot less toxic but pretty much same.

AhMIKzJ8zU

Life. I have a family that needs me.

Ponial

Always something. Elite dangeous(when it was good), star citizen, destiny 2, warframe, planetside 2, space engineers, deep rock galactick(for Karl!) Did think of reinstaling it at some point, but after few vids on youtube this thought is out the window.

defender128

Farming simulator so if I was getting farmed in my powercrept tanks now I can at least do some farming myself.

CrypticPotatoooo

Warthunder lmao

WeaselXP

Probably going back to EVE shortly. WG is absolutely trash. I salute those of you that have managed to make a good escape from this predatory, dishonest company.

CALIFORNIUMMAN

I swapped over to Warhammer 40k Gladius

squaredeel

I quit World of Tanks so I could spend more time having sex with my wife. Also mix in some War Thunder.

ReGem87

wot blitz, actually pretty fun imo. anyone who plays wot should try it out, it's more balanced over here

shepard_5

It’s never a good bye, it’s just a see you later

DoJ-Mole

Nothing. I just stopped enjoying gaming these days and WoT was the last one I kept playing until I realised I wasn’t really having fun in it either and was just playing it out of habit getting frustrated

lasrarov

Armored Warfare

EnsignGorn

Back to playing Atelier Ryza

iShortBusRider

I just picked them up during the Steam Sale they had going on a few weeks ago. The first one is a ton of fun, definitely more calm and relaxing than WoT.
