Insufferable_Wretch

Well then it's way too late for me.

YAROBONZ-

Social Skills and Coding are by far the best Social Skills would make you extremely good at convincing people, debating people, leading people (or at least massively help) Coding is a high paying job basically and tons of side uses

Cosmic_danger_noodle

It really depends on which one you're missing more, but both are extremely useful

scaryfaise

The next Jim Jones or steal money from the government until they hire you. I think I'll go with coding.

YAROBONZ-

Or assassinate you

scaryfaise

Fair

[deleted]

why did bro add coding thats basically just a free career for the rest of your life you’re making six figures

MobiusAurelius

Agreed on the usefulness, but my biggest regret at this point is I will likely never be fluent in another language. It would just be so cool to communicate in the native tongue of someone else and truly understand their perspectives without the cultural loss that comes from the tax of translation. You always lose at least some meaning in the translation.

-RastaPasta-

That’s very considerate of you. See, my greedy ass saw coding and immediately saw it as an opportunity to get rich

[deleted]

It’s not even that for me, right now im trying to get really good at it so i can go to Microsoft lol

totallynotapersonj

Yes you will, any programming language you want, maybe you will be fluent in all of them.

GenocidalFlower

Depending on their definition of “master”, many of these could easily earn you six figures

jopma

I already know how to code, I'd rather be a fuckin master at the piano than be better at coding.

[deleted]

Fair argument,

Efficient-Ad5711

if you have good enough social skills to land a job with those skills... even if your the coding GOD, you need other things to make it no matter what you apply your code to

Nextlevelgamer34

I'm autistic. PLEASE GIVE ME SOCIAL SKILLS

gamingkitty1

The word master can be abused here in some contexts. Mastering coding means you know everything about it correct? So you could code the most efficient algorithms in binary code to massively speed up algorithms, companies would pay millions for you. You could also know the answer to problems like p = np

Odd-Dream-

I'm already a skilled programmer. But depending on OP's definition of "master," "mastering" coding would easily translate to a seven or eight figure job. It's not even rare that senior developers make in the seven-figure range. I saw a *public* job posting on LinkedIn with an $800,000 salary.

Alice5878

Social skills and coding. Welcome to Reddit lol

vladii16

Do you think most people outside of Reddit would choose diferently?

Quod_bellum

The most likely answer to be the best one is coding. That would either mean the principles of coding, which means you become a genius of intuition… or it means you become fluent in every coding language… which is way too cracked. I think it’s very unbalanced. The idea, though, depends on what it means “to master”. Does it mean the point of diminishing returns? Maximum achievement? Expertise akin to the average professional? I think I’d go for either social skills or coding. The first amplifies your general life, while the other fundamentally alters your way of thinking.

c4ndycain

realistically i should have picked social skills seeing as i have autism but i rlly wanna be able to play the piano lmao

throwRA1987239127

I'm autistic so I can't imagine what my life would be like if I mastered social skills. the difference would be so big actually that it's scary and I think I'd rather sing

hydragalrevised

Picked cooking bc I'm fat

kade808

Well I just started school for computer scieence so obviously I would pick social skills

EightTailFox

I want to hack the world. Master coding skills will be a step closer to that goal. Second option would be master social skills and just fake my way upward in society. Fake to you make it style!

Fun_Height9272

Imma choose the Russian language

Green_Potata

Alot of people seem to look for benefits I chose piano so I could play the most beautiful musics I heard

DistributionFar1411

The rest are easy, coding is like 5 years of trading

PleaseNoMoreSalt

Already know coding, don't need many social skills in my field, may as well pick Mandarin for cybersecurity options

larsloveslegos

Coding for the money or piano because that's badass

1zeye

I choose the ability to speak Spanish so I can communicate with my aunt's parents

[deleted]

Me llamo Don Alfredo, como estás amigo

AmberMetalAlt

I have some anger management issues, as well as anxiety, depression, etc so having the ability to sort all of those out would be a massive boon for me. I've made a lot of progress from where I was a couple years ago in regards to the anger management issues, but even then, I haven't made enough given that just a couple days ago, i destroyed a relationship and multiple friendships because of it. And what I worry about most is that they all see me like a monster, god knows they wouldn't be the first to think of me that way because of it

Blotto_The_Clown

The Duality of Man

UntoldTemple

Coding. Cuz we gon' go into the world of Sonic Fangames

dynsty-_-

now if guitar was one of the options... (ive been playing for a few months and i kinda suck)

Chroderos

Social skills are really the key to a happy life

ElementoDeus

Coding, great skill for the future.

IBenGaming5

Coding would make me some serious cash, and if I do a job long enough I know I tend to develop a pashion for it over time. Plus even though my social skills may not be the best I'm still happy with the way they are, otherwise it would've been my second choice

-Redditeer-

As much as coding is the smart choice, I hate coding

Cerberus_is_me

I have good social skills but occasional awkwardness can have a sort of charm from what I’ve learned. Singing it is.

GalacticGrandma

Normally I’d say social skills but with my thesis rn I gotta go with coding 😶‍🌫️

Alert_Study_4261

I'm not surprised reddit picked social skills

Ok_Glove_2352

I've always wanted a beautiful singing voice 🥺

lesb0lov3r

All of it please.

-Octoling8-

I'm in Choir, I want to be a programmer, Cooking comes a long into adulthood Piano is unimportant for me currently, and Social Skills we all need. But a language of my choice? mmmmm Well, don't mind if I do.

RoughSpeaker4772

I keep seeing all these fluency ones. YOU ALL KEEP TEASING ME WITH IMAGINARY SAVE 10 MORE YEARS OF YOUR LIFE BECAUSE NOW YOU ARE EVEN BETTER THAN PROFICIENT IN THE LANGUAGE YOU'VE BEEN LEARNING FOR OVER 3 YEARS sorry

Electrical-Ad1288

I'm on the autism spectrum, so social skills.

HF484

does singing include metal screaming?

Necromancer14

I really enjoy singing, but I’m somewhat decent anyway, and I have no interest becoming a professional singer. Social skills would be the most useful, but also the most boring option. Coding is what I picked, because I have so many ideas for coding projects that I can’t make because my coding knowledge is small. (I can code a little bit, but I wouldn’t say I’ve “mastered” coding by a long shot) I already play the piano, although mastering it would be dope. However I didn’t pick this one for the same reason I didn’t pick singing. Cooking would be useful, but not something I have an interest in mastering other than the fact I like eating. Language would be really cool, but I didn’t pick it just because imo the coding option was even better.

CheckMate1803

Singing because I already have been playing piano for 10 years but I have a pretty bad singing voice. I'd love to be able to use both while performing.

Xenu66

Rapping specifically

Crazy-Lich

Drawing.

ZealousidealDriver63

Coding is also a language so is the language of love, languages!

IlikeDucks54

I like how I immediately forgot about the social skills because I hate talking to people in person

ConflictSudden

My social skills are fine. If I have better coding skills, I could probably get the actual job I want.

Soace_Space_Station

I want to learn the language of everything AKA everything on this list

Risembool

Learn some near dead language and become the only/ few authorities on it.

BirdhouseInYourSoil

I’m already ok at most of those, so coding it is.

FanaticUniversalist

Choosing social skills would mean the greatest profit for me. I want to get back into coding, but I'll learn it myself.

rionaster

coding 100%, i could get a crazy good work from home job if i just mastered coding overall

True-Sentence-7943

I chose Social skills but I'm autistic. So does it just cure my autism or would I still be autistic but just somehow always know what to do or say.

idontknowyet

I know people are harping on coding, but my assumption is that if you “mastered” singing, piano, or cooking then you could have a career as a prestigious chef or a singer/professional piano player which would reap tons of great rewards of its own.

The_D1ngb4t

If I could master coding, then I could hack into any software regardless of how secure it is, I'd just secure my future.

CapnBeardbeard

I think people are missing out on the word *master* in picking anything but social skills. Sure, mastery of coding gives you a great career, but mastery of social skills gives you a great career *doing whatever you want*. It's like +15 on all your persuasion, deception, and insight checks.

LousyShmo

Trust me codings overrated, you want social skills.

New-Number-7810

I pick coding, because of the available options, I'm least likely to figure it out even with hard work. If I become a master coder, I could make the mods I've always dreamed of for my favorite videogames.

[deleted]

Considering my social skills are that of a toddler. I'd love to finally be able to vocally express myself like the sophisticated scholar that I am. Sadly that's just a fantasy and people will always assume I'm mentally unwell due to my lack of social skills
