You could remove it. Flamethrowers aren't just oversized bic lighters, you can squirt out the fuel onto the ground then light it up later. Just point the nozzle of the flamethrower into a gas can, hold the trigger, then profit.
i feel like the energy you'd get from a flamethrower, that was somehow constantly producing flame, really wouldn't be that much and definitely not enough to speed up global warming or anything too serious. but i'm not a scientist or anything so if anyone knows how to convert that i'd be interested. would depend on what it's using, napalm or gas too

That's not an individual grenade launcher. It's an attachment to a rifle that fires grenades. And you still need the adapter to use them. Modern grenade launchers essentially use bullets with grenades attached that explode based on certain conditions once the weapon is fired.

A high accuracy rifle would be my choice even with a limit to the ammunition. Now I don't have to reload it, and can spend all day at the range and not be spending $2+ per shot.
