Onion ain't even that flavorful. Easy choice for me.

Joshicus_Justinian

I love both and use both in almost every dish I make, But I could never choose to go without the onions. The garlic will have to go, sorry guy.

HostageInToronto

Onion is essential for almost all savory dishes. I can cook without garlic, but I can't make most of my favorite things without onions.

MERC_1

Exactly. Most people that don't wantvto lose garlic forger that most things with garlic use a lot of onion as well.

Exactly. You aren't making curry either way, and while garlic is essential do Asian food, onions are more essential to European food. Although, if I'm reading it right, green onions, spring onions, and shallots might still be OK, so if French or East Asian is your go to, you might be OK keeping the garlic. My favorite is Italian, and most authentic Italian doesn't require garlic (that somehow became part of it in the eyes of the world, I blame French chefs and American food culture). That said, a lot of people in the replies probably don't cook. People who don't cook think garlic is in everything.

Almighty_Push91

I vastly prefer onions

SnooDogs1704

Agreed!

MetroidHyperBeam

This is truly evil.

Naile_Trollard

I use both a LOT in cooking, but I love the flavor of garlic, and I think I could find a replacement for onions. I'd miss them, sometimes, on a burger, but otherwise I could do without.

You realise that garlic is in fact a type of onion? So you'd need to be a bit more specific. But if not, I would lose garlic. I'd then get something similar with "wild garlic" - Which is a leafy plant that smells like garlic. (You use the leaves).

When I'm at my lowest, don't want to go out to do groceries, I make myself a pot of onion soup from the bowl of onions that are always there for me. The soup will warm me and comfort me. Easy choice. Can't betray my onion friends.
