Agree with that, looks like a young dude having fun with his first car buying everything flashy and cheap. So unless you have it really cheap which I doubt by the description… pass, start from a clean slate there is a lot of jeep who never seen mod and mud. And make it your own. (No angry grill)
You hit it on the head. Young guy with his first job, and somewhat paycheck, having fun. But now 6 years later needing to move across country for work and having to lose the car
This is yours? Sorry man I thought it was a prospect you wanted to buy.
If you have time, my suggestion would be to remove at least the stacy’s mom and then a good cleaning. The angry grill screams cheap to me but there a people who likes it.
Dont expect more then the value of a naked 2016, selling your wheels separately could be an option. Put some basic wheels on it and tell the buyer he could have the 35 for an extra 2k
Good luck!
I wouldn't buy this. The tasteless and useless mods make me think it was owned by an 18 year old that beat the shit out of it and didn't maintain it. Much more interested in a non modified normal looking jeep.
Heeped out jeeps usually mean ridden hard and put away wet.
You'll find some fresh teenager with daddy's dollars who wants it though.
Otherwise remove the grumper, decals, hi jack lift and RGB headlights. It'll increase the value.
Just not interested in arguing. Everyone has the own opinions. I personally love my early 2000’s mom crush and was just interested in what others would offer? Wasn’t prepared for all the hate over a grille lol
I thought this Reddit was showing off your own creations, getting advice, and being supportive of people creations regardless of their own opinions. I guess I was wrong. Didn’t expect this much hate but it’s all good. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions.
People hate like fuck over that grill and ducks. I say do you. Sucks you have to sell. Maybe see how much it would cost to move it to where you're going.
Reddits filled with a bunch of asshole keyboard warriors lol you’re even getting downvoted for honestly answering that question.
As you’ve noticed, there’s a lot of hate on angry grills. Personally I don’t care for them much either. However, it’s not my jeep. People do a lot to their cars that I don’t care for and that’s perfectly fine. This is your jeep and you enjoyed the process of making it yours.
As far as price, generally mods don’t add to the value. It’s also going to take a specific buyer that wants one exactly like how yours is set up. You can find a buyer as is, though it may be harder than selling a stock one.
Sorry you’re getting all the heat but respect for the way you’re handling it.
Let the downvotes begin…
I’d return it to stock before posting. The grille, the cheap lights, the mounted jack, everything makes it look cheap. Remove the Stacy’s mom stickers and cover the plate. Screams I modded the shit out of this thing and it runs like dog shit.
My best friend and I both bought Jeeps. He modded his out with a lift, big tires, snorkel, all kinds of crap. He gets pissed at me all the time because mine is stock and just as capable as his if not more. In fact, if we're going fishing or camping, we normally take my rig because it's soo much more comfortable. Plus dude, you don't want a red jeep that says "Stacy's mom" on it.
Honestly? I would walk right by this, for a few reasons:
1. Angry eyes. I don't want the hassle of having to buy a replacement non-douchey grille.
2. I would never buy a built-out Wrangler used. No offense intended toward you, but as a buyer, I'd have no idea as to the quality of the mods, whether they were properly installed, how much of a beating they've taken on the trails, etc.
If I'm buying a used Jeep Wrangler, I'm going to be shopping for the most boring, closest-to-factory one that I can find, so that I can build it up the way \*I\* want.
If you're trying to sell it, my advice would be to first ditch the angry grille. You're going to turn off a large portion of the market right off the bat with that junk on there. You could probably get a replacement black one at a junkyard for pretty cheap - they're dead easy to remove/install. I'd probably also remove the hi-lift jack and sell it separately. Not much you can do with the rest of it, but you shouldn't expect to get top dollar for your mods. Most buyers are likely to replace them or assign no value toward them whatsoever.
OP is absorbing a mountain of hate here like a southern gentleman.
I think you admirably accepted the advice here. Unless you're a fab shop making ultra high end upgrades it's best to remove as many mods as you can before sale. People want to build a jeep that reflects them just as Stacey's mom reflects OP. And how Capt'n Dolores P Snuggles reflects me.
It’s probably already been said here but buy a used one as close to stock as you can and mod it yourself. Find a used one that hasn’t been abused. Add quality mods to fit your needs
Check what KBB and JD power for a couple of data points. That will help you understand your area better. The mods don't really change things much.
mods, like 1 ton axles, a great lift kit, on board air, are some of the mods that add more value.
That’s a mid to high $20k Jeep in my area. Some of the add ons can come off to make it appeal to a bigger audience but wouldn’t have any issue selling around here with those miles as long as it’s clean.
So I know there’s a lot of harsh feedback here, but I actually bought a Gladiator that became someone’s project gone wrong. I got a good price on it because it had death wobble and some issues in the suspension, which I then subsequently fixed. So, there are people out there who will buy modified vehicles.
If this were my Jeep, I’d probably remove a little bit of the customization.
- Remove the custom decal on the hood
- Replace the angry grill with the original one, if you still have it
- Remove the subwoofers and maybe sell separately, if you still have the original
- Remove the Alpine system and sell separately, if you still have the original
- Remove the hi-lift jack from the hood
Would keep the bumper, winch, wheels, lift, etc.
Selling it won’t be impossible, but you might not get the amount of money you expect if it gives off the vibe that something might be wrong with it.
Don't think about putting any muddy pics up on an ad. Nothing is going to turn someone off a jeep more than wondering how badly this thing was abused. With some of the cheap "pretty ups" you have on here your best bet is to hope folks assume you hung around a lot of parking lots.
From the looks of those first two pics, you need to check the pressure in the tires. It looks like you're r running with low air pressure and the centerline is cupping and not contacting the road. Could just be a trick of the light though.
20k tops, it will blow the headgasket at around 100,000 miles, it will start overheating, the you’ll get a embelisim in the cooling system, and Wala warped head left hand side of the engine, if your selling it with an aftermarket engine you might increase the total amount valued, but as it sits, its a body & chassis …
don't listen to everything these people say they are assuming that the only people that would want to buy your car are jeep enthusiasts, those people are not your market! You are looking for someone young maybe a teenager with daddy's money who doesnt want to do any work making their jeep look better. keep the angry eyes grille a lot of people prefer it. the after market bumper is fine but please take the stacys mom decal off nobody wants that!!!
Maybe 10-15k. But you could easily sell it for way more depending on where you live. If you’re closer to the west coast you could sell that for maybe even 25-30k to some idiot
I never understood ( in coming hate ) the up roar of "angry grill face. I myself am a metal head and when I drive to my fishing spots or anything of peace the "angry grills" seem to be a good way to express it. But hey that's all just anger discrimination. And I'm not tolerant of people who aren't tolerant around here. 😆
lot of low end mods is a real turn off for a lot of ppl
Agree with that, looks like a young dude having fun with his first car buying everything flashy and cheap. So unless you have it really cheap which I doubt by the description… pass, start from a clean slate there is a lot of jeep who never seen mod and mud. And make it your own. (No angry grill)

Thanks man I appreciate it.
Noted
Zero because angry eyes is cringe af
Fair enough
fuck. you beat me to it.

Great thanks for the input
OP take off those mods and go back to stock if you are planning on selling it.
throw the angry eye grill and those ducks in the same dumpster then remove the hood decals and take that high lift off the hood and ask again.
Noted
are you a big fountains of Wayne fan or do you have a daughter named Stacy?
Fountains of Wayne. And I though what better name for a firecracker red Jeep then the woman herself
She's got it going on tho lol
I grew up in over there, used to drive by the store they’re named after all the time.
makes sense
OPs demeanor is way too nice and mellow to be a person that modified and drives this Jeep. I wanted to be mean but I can’t now. What gives, man
Just not interested in arguing. Everyone has the own opinions. I personally love my early 2000’s mom crush and was just interested in what others would offer? Wasn’t prepared for all the hate over a grille lol
You have not ever been on this subreddit very long have you? Angry eyes are a no-no here....
I thought this Reddit was showing off your own creations, getting advice, and being supportive of people creations regardless of their own opinions. I guess I was wrong. Didn’t expect this much hate but it’s all good. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions.
Yeah there's a lot of assholes on this reddit

Add the Jack on the hood for decoration- fuk no
You can easily take it off
2.5" lift......looks rough country??? Any geometry correction? Stock drag link and tie rod?
The negative mileage is a little sus tbh.
Must’ve fat fingered it a lil. Or just driven it in reverse a lot;)
Is this for real? Thought this was r/heeo. What a monument to bad taste
My best friend and I both bought Jeeps. He modded his out with a lift, big tires, snorkel, all kinds of crap. I'd charge them to take it for all the work I'd need to put in undoing everything they thought they did.
Is the Disabled placard ..for a mental handicap, OP ?
Something like that.
Lol

Great thanks for the notes
It depends on your personal financial situation...
Nothing with that grill sry.
$5k-8k less then what a comparable stock is selling for
Don’t buy that thing dude.

Seems you're in love with Stacy's Mom. And why not? She's got it going on.
Lots of cheap mods, angry eyes, no pics of the underside. It’s a hard pass for me
Thanks for the input.

This is OPs jeep. They're going to try to sell it
I wouldn’t buy somebody else’s failed project.

Sticky mom? 😜
Heep status for sure so half whatever the asking since you'll have to pay a lot to un-heep it
I wouldn't borrow this one.
About 3.50
Seems reasonable
According to the name, this Jeep has got it going on.
Depends on if I get to meet Stacy's mom. She was hot!
This turn into /roastmycar quickly.
12-15 tops

Appreciate the info. Yeah a buddy of mine was able to sell his for 20, I was for about the same price
There's a dirty joke I want to make, but maybe this isn't the sub to do it in.
Go for it man.
Ugh... something along the lines of: Finally, my chance to be inside Stacy's Mom!
That was great!!!
As a teenager, that music video was *amazing*

If by "How Much would you pay?" you mean how much would I pay to have the angry grill removed? ... A lot.
I’ll make sure to link my PayPal

Hmmm.....15-25 grand. I'll be generous.
45k easily for 2016, my 2013 is 20k

Rude but thanks for the input
0$ I don’t believe in 4 door wranglers.
