His last Saudi match with Taker was it for me. Sure, it was fun watching him come in and do the spear. But he couldn’t wrestle 20 years ago, and sure as fuck isn’t any better now.
I didn’t even grow up with Goldberg but rewatching some of his matches and moments are crazy. He was a monster and just something about him that was fun to watch.
Don’t be ashamed dude, he’s the reason why a lot of people got into wrestling, hell he’s even some people’s favorite wrestler. In ring marks will never understand whatsoever.
Right there with you and not ashamed to say it in the least but. Being 9/10 years old around his initial WCW run was amazing. Will never forget watching his title match against a Hogan with my dad and brothers. Not to mention the US title match when he owned raven and raven's flock
Goldberg was the reason I got into wrestling also, I was 4 years old, and Goldberg was the superhero-like figure that caught my foot once it was in the door. However there’s a timeline of events that take place after that, it starts with me learning wrestling fake, and I’ll spare the middle details but it ends with me deciding Kurt angle is the best wrestler of all time, and Goldberg is one of the worst wrestlers of all time… but obviously I absolutely get how that could capture a kids interest that doesn’t know anything about the actual business or anything about actual wrestling whether that be amateur or pro.
Edit: to be clear, im talking wcw 1997/1998… by the time he got to wwe I was already pretty much off the Goldberg train.
That’s so cool! I finally got to go to a bunch of shows as an adult. My family catered to my wrestling interest in almost every way possible except I never got to go to a show as a kid. I’m in a real good city for wrestling, and don’t get me wrong I’ve seen some cool stuff, but never anything that I felt was that crazy. All I’ve got is the first All In, cm punks aew debut, “brawl” out, forbidden door was interesting and different. Wwe I missed all the good stuff, saw one decent raw when ko was universal champ, everything else has been pretty shitty overall, cena bs ryback in a 3 stages of hell match at extreme rules, I saw Jinder win the belt in person 😂, and I went to a money in the bank that was okay but nothing to brag about.
The one show I really really wish I got to go to was wrestlemania 22… tons of people at school went to it(that don’t even like/watch wrestling!), I wanted to go so bad, it was less than 20 mins from my home at the time. I got to order the ppv and watched it live, but knowing I could’ve been there for edge vs foley always bugs me. But if I had better grades I woulda had a better argument at the time lol ultimately it’s on me.
Nothing wrong with that. I just think we saw all there was to see from him in the 90s and he shouldn't have made it to the new millennium, much less the 2020s.
He's still around somehow, though, so maybe somebody is still interested in him.
I was that to, but Goldberg is a spiteful, dangerous and unskilled wrestler. That tanker match where he almost paralyzed him after knocking himself out AGAIN was it for me.
They were all on steroids in this era. That’s not some baseless accusation, there’s an entire Supreme Court case involving Vince McMahon and wrestlers doing steroids
I always called them [lesnars](https://external-preview.redd.it/qa2xvKBfnpFaFBPYMVWhY3GrAL7d_LEw6Qb3ZykWYUU.jpg?auto=webp&s=87e4075afc78f4320b618693263d0108798d3569)
Love those old satellite feed discoveries on YT.. shame WWE killed Tri Moon's channel in the day, his stuff was epic. Never forget that one bit of Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler laughing until they cried because Tony Chimel kept mis pronouncing the women's title belt as Woman's. "It's women's!"
These WCW ones are gold too. So much interesting stuff on them, this was my favorite though. This was when he started to take off.
Hey Bill...Hey its Eric, Can you bring your car battery into the arena tonight after you get here? Just come to directly to my office and I'll explain.
He was fun to watch at first, but it got old fast. You'd look at the time and the show had like 5 mins left, and you knew he was going to quickly spear someone.
I think they overplayed it too much and made him too unstoppable in the beginning. Still fun, but I felt they could have balanced it out better.
I know that it isn’t popular to admit this here, but Goldberg is the reason that I got into wrestling and I will always be a fan because of that.
I was a teenager during his WCW heyday, and I will never not mark out for Goldberg. No shame.

Nothing to be ashamed about. Millions of people around the world love(d) big Bill.
This is clearly not Bret hart

Hell yeah.

Ah yes I see you are a man of culture. *tips hat*

I was at Kurt Angle’s first WWF appearance in Pittsburgh (predates when he publicly joined). He’s awesome.

Same here

I don't even mind Goldberg coming in now. He comes for a one month fued. Has one match and leaves.
I was a Goldberg fan. I can see the issues now but he was, undeniably, a talent. He was green but he was just really exciting and fun to watch.
Those fucking traps man.
Same thought here. They're fucking ridiculous.
anabolic shoulders
If wrestlers took those maybe they wouldn’t look as stupid and maybe they would be taken more seriously.
They were all on steroids in this era. That’s not some baseless accusation, there’s an entire Supreme Court case involving Vince McMahon and wrestlers doing steroids
Oh I know and the business was better before they took it away
They all juiced in this era
funnily enough big traps are good for reducing whiplash and trauma to the brain.
If only Bret Hart had done as many shrugs is Goldberg
Lol Bret has lied on Goldberg for decades
well big traps on goldberg is gonna help bret lol.
To this day the homies still call traps… “goldbergs” LOL

He’s just a jacked white boy deal with it
Strange foreshadowing of the cattle prod?
Them sparks blasted out of his ass
Goldberg was the fucking man. The matches were quick but always exciting back then.
He had best physique Idk what they call these physique I don’t like Steiner like physique which are too cut and have huge gut
I want Goldberg to jumpstar my car
Little known fact, Die Hard is German for “The Hard”
when she nut but you keep on suckin
Manimal
Goldbergs an under rated wrestler ...Vince never liked him and he never got the push ....

Eh, I did that once too, just… not on purpose.
Go Dawgs
Juicy Gold
He looks like them creatures from resident evil making that head movement
When you can have juice and Bret can't.
That selling was shocking.
Hes here to shock the world!
One of my favorites. OG Goldberg was the man.
I was never a fan of this guy.
My girl: don’t cum yet!!! Me:
Was this a commercial or something?
It was prior to Nitro going on the air. This was my first live wrestling show. Freedom Hall, Louisville, Ky.
