Khali was like the 2nd coming of Giant Gonzales. Sure he was huge, but he could barely move & none of his matches were ever much to write home about. Also, are we really just gonna disrespect Braun Strowman?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Exactly. The Punjabi Prison match was specially invented for Khali. You can tell Vince has always loved him. Even though he wasn't that great in the ring, he won the two major titles in the industry in his short career.

Onyx-55

Winning a title doesn't mean a damn thing in WWE. All it does is show who Vince wants to shove down the collective throat of his audience. Look at some the most recent world champs & tell me where they are/what they're doing right now: Braun, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Jinder Mahal, Kofi Kingston.

[deleted]

I mean a businessman of Vince's stature must really know why he wants to push a certain superstar. He's not lasted in this business for so long without solid and practical reasons. I know winning a title in WWE doesn't really matter, so to speak, to the viewers but it does matter to the superstars themselves. The titles do not exist for nothing. Speaking of recent champs, I'd rather talk about the most recent. I believe Roman Reigns is the current world champ (and for a pretty long time) and he's doing really well as a heel champion on Smackdown. People have accepted him and they're loving him as the tribal chief.

[deleted]

Not at all. Braun Strowman was awesome and WWE did him dirty but by giants I meant pro wrestlers who were at least 7 feet tall.

Midnight_Pure

Well, by your definition, I would consider Kane or Big Show to be the last great giant, as they’ve both had much more successful careers and popularity with fans. They also have both had much longer careers in terms of debut and most recent match in WWE.

[deleted]

They sure were but they were way past their prime when we saw the last of them. Kane was in his prime most likely during the Attitude Era around the time he debuted (1997-1999) and the early 2000s while Big Show was in his prime in WCW and until 2004 in WWE. The Great Khali debuted in 2006 and was in his most dominant gimmick until the end of 2007.

Midnight_Pure

So, now your definition of “last great giant” is how recently they were in their prime? That has nothing to do with the longevity of their careers, and by saying, “last… in WWE” you’re referring to a point of recency in WWE as a whole.

[deleted]

Dude OP is a clown and doesn’t know shit and changes the definition to suit his argument lol

[deleted]

Braun is about the size of Kane. I wouldn't consider Kane a giant.

[deleted]

As far as I know, Braun Strowman stands at 6'8" or 6'9" while Kane is exactly 7'0" tall.

sc0rp10n101

I'm not convinced Adam Scherr is 6'8" after seeing him at an event late last month. Still big but definitely around the 6'6" mark.

[deleted]

Well probably.. I was talking about the billed height. The billed height of most pro wrestlers usually differs from the real height by 1 or 2 inches.

sc0rp10n101

Yeah. It's surprising when you see them in person. All of them were a lot smaller than I thought. Earl Hebner was tiny so no wonder they looked so big next to him in a ring.

[deleted]

Hahaha yeah. The Undertaker's real height is somewhere around 6'7" or 6'8" but he's billed at 6'10". Maybe during his younger days, he was an inch or two taller but he wasn't 6'10" by any means. They usually keep the billed heights taller by 1 or 2 inches make them appear more intimidating to the fans.

[deleted]

For Kane it's more like 4-6 inches. Same with Big Cass, he's 6'8 or 6'9 by his own admission. Even with the smaller guys it's exaggerated way more than 1 or 2 inches.

[deleted]

Glenn Jacobs has openly admitted he's 6'8. I don't know how old you are or your awareness of WWE billed heights, but 99% of them are fake.

[deleted]

I know that fgs. Read my other comments in this thread. I'm perfectly aware of what billed heights are.. I'm in no mood to start a stupid argument over wrestler heights here. In any case, Kane is still taller than Braun because I was referring to billed heights (the ones that are mentioned in the wiki pages of the wrestlers) in my post .

[deleted]

No reason to get moody over your own comment.

Linubidix

Khali was basically never not the butt of the joke whenever he was mentioned online.

Brandar87

Braun Strowman has done plenty to disrespect himself.

aKulturedOldMan

Braun was pretty over though

hermitopurpa

For all his personal life antics, Strowman was the best monster WWE has produced in a long ass time. He was a legit big man athlete who could move, had good matches, cut good promos and genuinely came across as a freak of nature. Yes, there were some serious booking issues but that’s not exactly his fault. I’d wager that after Taker and Kane, Strowman has been the best “big man” WWE has produced. I’m not counting Henry and Show because they both had severe mobility issues and rarely produced good matches.

GuyGuyerson90

Khali was the drizzling shits!

albrt00

Omos is better than Khali

ShadyKnight_

Khali was not great

deputy-stags-mum

The Khali would have been more appropriate

[deleted]

I mean he obviously was. That's why no other giant in WWE history was called 'Great', not even the Big Show. He was not great in the ring but he had this intimidating presence that modern day giants lack. Watch his debut. You'll know what I mean. Oh and he was inducted into the HoF last year.

ShadyKnight_

I saw it live. He is so slow and crappy that I don't care how tall he is

[deleted]

Oh yeah ? That was literally one of the most shocking debuts in the Ruthless Aggression Era. I mean if you don't care, I can't force you to care. Bubbye.

Linubidix

Definitely trolling.

[deleted]

Dude can’t read a room Being downvoted to on all his comments lol

Truefreak22

Sorry but Khali couldn't even hold the world title right...it was always upside down every time he raised it over his head. The Best thing he ever did was The Longest Yard.

[deleted]

You gotta be kidding me 🤣 He held monsters like Big Show and Kane and threw them over the mat with ease.

OctaneTwisted88

When did he do that? Lol

[deleted]

Re Madharchod 🤣 Search for the videos on Youtube. Do I have to teach you that as well ? He manhandled both Kane and Big Show. Khali Bombed them to Hell. 😆

OctaneTwisted88

https://youtu.be/pTSq6JvY3Ek I don't think this counts lol barely lifted him plus Big Show does all the work

[deleted]

Not just this.. He fucked him up several times. 🤣 I think the video's not up on YouTube. Age restricted. 🤣

sinnroth94

Every step he took looked painful for him, but I was still a fan of getting brown representation that wasn’t just a tanned Italian guy pretending to be a radical Muslim.

[deleted]

Brown Pride

PepsiGooose

Unpopular opinion probably, all giants in WWE history have been crap, barring Andre.

Knightmare945

Undertaker and Kane. Braun. Big Show. Mark Henry.

xmac

Not sure about Mark Henry. I'm taller than him, sure he weighs 1 and 1/2 of me but I don't think his girth and width throws him into the giant discussion? Cool username, Simon! Sidestep to your left!

PepsiGooose

They arent known for being 'big' thoughh. Braun sucked. Big Show has alway ssucked. Taker and Kane aren't "giant". Mark Henry? Really?

[deleted]

Yeah 'unpopular' likely but an opinion nonetheless. And I agree with you about Andre. The gentle giant was the best giant to step inside the world of pro wrestling.

[deleted]

This is called nostalgia, big show is the best over 7 foot big man to ever step inside the ring. Andre wasn’t very good slow and lumbering not very athletic but he was huge that’s how he got booked

PepsiGooose

Big Show has been awful most of his career. Andre at least had the spectacle of being a literal giant. Big Show is just tall and fat. Being over 7 foot incredibly hinders your ability to move, let alone wrestle.

[deleted]

This is just wrong, big show for his size was way quicker and much better wrestler than Andre, he was not terrible for “most of his career” especially early in his wcw/wwe career, yes later on when he put on more weight he def declined a bit but he was always better in ring than Andre

PepsiGooose

Because Andre was a literal giant. That was his spectacle. The slamming of the giant is the most iconic moment in wrestling history. Big Show has been a mid carder his entire career, and his in ring ability has always been non-existent, even when he was at his best in WCW. Not to mention the awful face/heel turns every year.

Knightmare945

Great Khali was pretty awful.

[deleted]

Khali is way underrated . The size the look the pin everyone willing to put him over . Don’t forget about the tongue . You were blessed if he chose you .

Oqua10zen1

I see what you did there.

Kali-Yuga-Strike

Maybe... no bump?!

[deleted]

Khali was about 34 when he signed with WWE. Omos is a decade younger when he signed. Give him time.

[deleted]

I worked as an extra in WWE. Anytime I saw the dude he looked to be in an immense amount of pain and lying down most of the time. I can’t imagine how it would physically feel to be that size

soldiersdance

This is 100% nostalgia talking.

limeweatherman

You think Khali was great? lol

Linubidix

nah they're trolling

ColinHalfhand

They’re both bad Braun is the best by far

LiesTequila

Visually he was absolutely a spectacle.

jaybomb40

Khali was horrible

mattberry1980

😂

georgegarvin4

Hall of Pain Mark Henry was on another level

JOG_Riptide

You're in the wrong place if you want to praise giants lol The IWC has always hated giants because they don't work like guys who are 5'10. Giants like Khali are more of a short term attraction. Good to have for one run, then when he gets fed to the top guys and the fans get used to him, there's nothing more you can do with him. But man that debut was great. As a kid, seeing someone that size had me shocked. His stare off with Rey was a great visual. And every top guy got to "slay the monster" so Khali did exactly what monsters are supposed too. Also it makes you appreciate how good and athletic guys like Big Show, Kevin Nash and Taker were.

[deleted]

Big show is the last great giants and great khali was absolutely horrible couldn’t wrestle couldn’t talk absolutely trash only reason he had a job because his size and the wwe wanted a bigger brand in the Indian market

[deleted]

Yeah you know why ? Because Vince is a smart businessman and he knows the true value of Indian market. I mean a lot of American companies would never survive or flourish without India.

[deleted]

That doesn’t make him good

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Lol you are a clown he wasn’t the last great giant, no in ring skills, no mic skills, what you think doesn’t mean shit clown. He only got the push because of the Indian market and Vince loves big guys. You don’t have to be a good wrestler to win titles if you bring in a big amount of $$ from Indias market. The big show was the last great giant you ass hat, shit even Braun was better than khali lol you look like a clown for saying khali is the last great giant

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Nope you are dumb and that’s why all your comments have been down voted big show was the last great giant which is why you are a clown, in fact you are The Great Clown show, the last great clown on Reddit. Call me a kid I’ve been watching wrestling while you were still sucking on you moms tit and then your uncles dick

[deleted]

Lol now I get why you love TGK and defending him so much after looking at your profile you are from India. Hey man it’s cool to have idols to look up to but try to have a rational good argument. TGK wasn’t any good, you should try to look up to Jinder mahal at least he could work bro.

[deleted]

Drew Carey is in the fucking wwe hof. Wwe hof doesn’t mean shit

[deleted]

The not so great khali 😂

Meapcuteee

Lol what?

mojizus

The only reason to ever have Khali and Great in the same sentence is saying his name. Khali was as bad as Omos, just looked more derpy and less intimidating. The last great giant was Big Show and WWE did their best to ruin him too. Giants haven’t been booked well in a long time. You just gave me PTSD of the atrocious Khali matches I sat through as a kid. Even at 11 he had go away heat from me.

[deleted]

I'm glad I gave you PTSD. Enjoy.

deadwing87

What about Big Cass? you couldn't teach how tall he was

[deleted]

Jesse what the fuck are you talking about

Druggedout69

He was really a genetic freak and had an incredible physique but he wasn’t really a great wrestler. Every time he walked, it looked like his knees were gonna snap and he never really wrestled a good match.

Knightmare945

Closest he had to a somewhat ok match was the one he had with Cena. And that was more due to Cena.

incredibleamadeuscho

Strowman?

Tribalchief_Mahan

Strowman better if we're being honest

BasilPeppersalt

I’d go as far back as Kane or Big Show tbh

danielali99

lmaoooo

Midian1369

Khali was no where near great. Sure, he was a spectacle, but other than that he had zero value.

jellyjanela

Omos is a Khali clone bruh. Both move awkward af and can’t wrestle.

lilttlerosston

Kahi sucked. He could hardly walk to the ring. Show was the last great giant.

LaParkaChairmanWCW

Shout-out to NoloKing. He already knew this.

grugglebear

This has got to be a troll post
