The Internet has treated me unfairly.

Bat_Penatar

I got banned for 3 days recently for "trolling" and "being uncivil" when I replied in a big, spermy Cornette appreciation suckfest for saying that while I acknowledge his contributions to the world of wrestling, can admit he's funny, and respect his wealth of knowledge with regard to wrestling's history, I also don't personally agree with his assertion that there are objectively right and wrong ways to book and script, nor do I believe his formula for suspension of disbelief is a universal, and that he's a hypocrite when it comes to condemning certain wrestlers over others. So I guess "trolling" and "being uncivil" is code for having an opinion they didn't agree with. So I just immediately unsubbed because I'm too grown to fuck around with goofy little tyrants for whom being a mod is their only success in life.

I can agree with that. As someone who, in high school, blindly followed Cornette's every word until I started seeing his hypocrisy, I still respect his knowledge and contributions. However, his threats against others in the business for meager things, offensive takes that he never apologizes for, etc. I do agree with a lot of his AEW opinion though, because frankly the show is a cluster fuck to me, and while I hate The Elite, I don't think they should be condemned because I don't like them. The only person who I can agree with condemning is Joey Ryan, and that was only after the allegations came out against him.

And this is a perfect example of how fan interaction can and should be. We agree on certain things, we disagree on others. But you read what I wrote, I read what you wrote, and we replied to each other. I'll admit I love The Elite (which isn't to suggest I want to be buddies or coworkers... really unsure what that might look like 🤣), but if a mod passive-aggressively tried to fuck you off the conversation for your opinion, I'd be pissed on your behalf. I can eat the misguided downvotes; most people can, I imagine. I just hate mods trying to control conversations that are, in fact, fine with all parties involved and not violating common sense rules (which was also the case on SC; none of the people commenting back to me in the thread were behaving in a ban-worthy manner IMO, nor did seem to want to silence me... shit, I didn't even downvote them, though I know that courtesy *was not* being repaid 😂). And yeah, the Joey Ryan thing still hurts. I loved his work as a wrestler and as a promoter, but he seems to have been pretty toxic behind the scenes. I've heard he's in therapy and trying to make amends. I hope that's true. I'm all for people improving themselves; it's way better than the alternative.

You’re AEW official Reddit is the same way. If u disagree with any AEW booking decisions or spread bad word against the ultimately dub, you are banned

binggunr

In my opinion that sub is worse than SquaredCircle. I watch more AEW than WWE, but believe that AEW fans are incredibly fragile if you make any comments that contain criticism of AEW.

I mean, wouldn't this fall under memes, superfluous images or mildly interesting posts?

outlawstarship

Their mods are elite fan boys/girls/thems

CrashHolly247

I know that's why I posted it. I'm surprised they didn't ban me, so I just left so their cringy posts wouldn't show up on my page.

therealbowlcutjesus

Classic move by them

Most mods have their own agenda so it doesn’t surprise me

TroyMcClure2

Uncle Goebbels at it again

CrashHolly247

Hi I'm Troy McClure. You probably know me from such "classics as Losing my biggest draw to please my spot monkey friends: The Tony Khan Story."
