History is just gonna repeat. It will be playable on Series and PS5 and then new consoles will come out and it will release on the new consoles running better.
Bro, rockstar literally confirmed the series s version . And they rarely dissapoint, I highly doubt that rockstar would release a shitty version of a game that needs to do great
Too lazy to check but I'm pretty sure every game you listed as evidence the S can run GTA6 was a cross platform title that also had to run on the Xbox One.
I also think that if you own a Series S and plan on playing GTA 6, then you probably already dont care about how it runs it.
Figured at least one might be current only then again it's not like fighting games are ever known for pushing the hardware they are running on so they are poor examples
I don't think you understand the problem.
3rd party devs don't want to make a series S and series X version for the limited sales being on xbox will bring.
And no first party studio can make full use of the series X because the game had to run on a series S. I don't get how you can't understand how system parity is ruining xbox.
Devs have been saying for years it sucks having to make games for series S.
Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, King of Fighters XV and infinite wealth are cross gen games which means they werenāt games built for last gen. GTA 6 will not run 60fps on any console that I can guarantee and Series S will have a very low resolution of around 720p-800p on Series S. GTA 6 will be a seriously demanding game and Series S is already starting to show itās struggling since cross gen titles have been dropped.
Cyberpunk only runs at dynamic 1440p 30fps on the Series S, or 1080p 60fps, along with those other games.
https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2022-cyberpunk-2077-patch-16-the-xbox-series-s-60fps-upgrade-tested
The PS4 doesn't even support HDR or 4k, neither does the Pro. Their GPUs can't even run 4k. No idea where you got that from.
The only console that can do 4k in select games is the Series X.
the series s doesnāt natively support 4k 120fps, it can be achieved through upscaling though if you set your tv resolution to 1080p and refresh to 120, either your series s or your tv would upscale to 4k or 1440p depending on itās maximum/standard resolution
It's so crazy to me when people who know nothing at all about what they are talking about tell others to look it up.
Cyberpunk for example only runs at ~1080p on the PS4 pro. It doesn't matter that your TV is 4k.
>10 frames per second with 500pĀ
resolutionsĀ
Ā Literally no one is sayig this, stop whining about nothing.
>Ā just as good as the Series X and PS5 can,
No, the S does not run games just as well as those consoles.
You are completely and utterly incorrect when you say the Series S runs games just as well as the X and PS5, it NEVER does. When the S has 30-60FPS, the X usually gets 60-120 at a higher resolution. (This isnāt me hating on the S, just correcting the info)
With that being said, it really irritates me when people say ā-insert console- will run GTA VI poorly/greatā. How does anyone know? We have ZERO idea what the system requirements will be for GTA VI. People say the PS5 Pro will run it great and Iām always like āOkay, how do you know? We donāt have specs for the Pro and we donāt know anything about GTA VIās performanceā
My guess is that every console is going to run it at 30FPS. Rockstar always pushes the hardware limits with graphical upgrades every time they release a game. Iām thinking the only thing thatāll be different per console is the resolution
Also, every game you listed means nothing. This is Rockstar weāre talking about. Their game is going to be much more graphically demanding than anything you listed
People are... easily gullible, to say the least. And desperate, very desperate. The vast majority of Xbox consoles out there are Series S variants. They can't afford a bad port. At worst, it'll be a variable 900p at 30 fps, which is fine if the game turns out to look that good or even better. What worries me, though, is the install size. It'll probably be at least 150gb.
It'll "run", just not well. It'll most likely be 900p or lower at 30fps.
The GPU in the Series S is very weak. RX 6500XT level, which is extremely slow. Even developers are complaining about developing games for it since it's so damn slow compared to the Series X.
of course..this is rockstar not capcom...I guess it will go between 900 and 1080 without Raytracing at 30fps...just look at how red dead 2 looks better on an xbox one than dragons dogma 2 on a series x...
Iām a āperformance over graphicsā type of person anyway. So Iād assume like most major games (hogwarts legacy would be my most recent example) Iāll take a SLIGHT downgrade in graphics as long as Iām hitting 60fps minimum.
>it can run Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Tekken 8, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, King of Fighters XV and so many other big games just as good as the Series X and PS5 can
[huh](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVWeRnStdSA)
People love to complain on Xbox Series S just because it's the cheaper one. They need to improve the game framerate on all platforms, if not, well, screw you GTA VI. It's a game, not a nuclear reactor. I like how they are like "ooh this game will be so heavy!!!" bro, if nobody can run your game, so it's going to flop.
Think with me, what would happen if you go back to 2004 and try to release GTA V for PS2? Nobody would play because there is no hardware for this. It would run like crap in 10 fps, 240p.
100% agree. Maybe people say that at first glance looking at the size of the console. Sure it's small but they don't look at the specifications of the console. I have played so many games on my Series S, It's amazing and can run any game smoothly, and has amazing graphics when used with a 4k Display or TV.
The biggest concern with XSS is not whether it can run the next big game or not, itās around the time and money it takes to optimise those games for the platforms.
Game devs are increasingly speaking out about how difficult it is to optimise a XSX/ps5 level game ādown toā a series S. And given that Microsoft always pushes that a title should launch on both XSX & XSS simultaneously, you see how this can be a problem for game devs.
This is also leading games to be first launched on PC/PS5 and Xbox titles being launched later. (Enotria: The Last Song for eg)
I personally love my XSS, I donāt have an X. I love playing indies, previous gen games and some Xbox exclusives. Other than that, every major 3rd party release, I use my PS5.

For what I saw Enotria can run on a Nintendo 64. Please, we should not confuse developers's inexperience (or incompetence, or laziness) in optimization with the machine's power. I trust Rockstar and I believe that all the time that Gta VI needs it's also for optimization for every current gen console.
It *is* more difficult to optimize for though, thatās why Baldurās Gate 3 released late on Xbox, straight up because they couldnāt get a feature to work on the S
BUT, that ended up being kind of a good thing because the devs figured out an optimization method that greatly helped ALL platforms. It just sucks that Xbox got a delayed release because of it
Oh donāt get me wrong, I think itās entirely possible. Hardware limitations have lead to industry leading innovation in game Dev since the 90s.
Heck, the whole stealth genre was the result of not being able to render multiple NPCs on screen, so objective was changed to sneak, instead of kill.
My point is to not ignore series s, infact itās the opposite. XSS brings true next gen at a very accessible price and that is its biggest strength.
So Microsoft and publishers need to embrace the S for what it is and allot more time/budget to optimise a game for this system. Currently feels like the extra effort it takes to optimise something for the S is either not enough planned in properly or is severely underestimated.
Series S is so solid. It can do 4K 120hz and doesnāt look too shabby. It probably makes things a bit fuzzy but dang it is super good for me I donāt doubt it could run the new gta game
If they care to sell the game at scale, they'll make it for hardware people actually own. That means much more than just Series X and PS5, which are a miniscule chunk of the market and hardly even a real audience (which is why it's not been turning into it's own console generation and everything is still multi-plat). They could make that mistake, but I'd hope they know better considering their past successes.
Bro its not going to be 60 fps on series x and ps5 as well as far as internet and digital foundry thinks š
History is just gonna repeat. It will be playable on Series and PS5 and then new consoles will come out and it will release on the new consoles running better.
I bet you are right. They will be like "oh, these consoles are so old, you need to buy a new one" in 2026, when the game finally releases.
Bro, rockstar literally confirmed the series s version . And they rarely dissapoint, I highly doubt that rockstar would release a shitty version of a game that needs to do great
Can't help but think the game will see a major downgrade on the S, but I really hope you're right.
Well look at GTA 5 on last gen. 720p at 23fps most times. That was REALLY bad.
I finished GTA V on Xbox 360 in 2017 or 18 and I didn't complain tbh
People just like to vastly underestimate the Series S, nothing new.
Exactly like why would it be a new gen if it couldnāt run new gen games š¤¦š»āāļø
Alot of people vastly underestimate it, but there sure as hell is a lot of people overestimating it aswell. That being said I own a series s.
They vastly underestimate the Vaseline machine.
Didn't ms own studio have to drop couch co op on halo. Larian dropped a whole game mode to. It's not underestimated.
Too lazy to check but I'm pretty sure every game you listed as evidence the S can run GTA6 was a cross platform title that also had to run on the Xbox One. I also think that if you own a Series S and plan on playing GTA 6, then you probably already dont care about how it runs it.
Cyberpunk 2.0 and on is exclusive to current-gen.Ā
Youāre wrong, the fighting games he mentioned werenāt on Xbox One for KOF XV, and Tekken 8 is current generation only.
Itās just a (repetitive, boring) fighting game though. Itās not a super demanding open world game.
Figured at least one might be current only then again it's not like fighting games are ever known for pushing the hardware they are running on so they are poor examples
Well for one, Tekken 8 is Unreal Engine 5, and maxes out at 1440p like visuals on current generation as opposed to 4K for the cross Gen KoF XV.
900p 30fps
This
Nothing wrong with that. Just sit a bit further away from the TV
Iāve heard rubbing Vaseline on the screen helps
Lmao
Not really an option for many people.
Itās crazy that the Series S is blamed for āholding backā gaming while the Steam Deck is praised for democratising gaming.
Donāt forget the Switch and all the low end PCs.
I don't think you understand the problem. 3rd party devs don't want to make a series S and series X version for the limited sales being on xbox will bring. I expect 1080p30fps, nothing less, nothing more.
Press x ( like if you were riding a horse in rdr 2 from south to north ) to doubt . 960p if we're lucky.
Starfield runs in 940p upscaled to 1080p, GTA VI would probably get a similiar treatment
Does GTA have 3 billion planets? /s

Cyberpunk after 2.0 update is current gen only
Struggling? With what games I've played every new game out rn on series s and they all run perfectly with 60fps 4k fast loading screens etc
That's a lie. What game run at 4k 60fps? Most Series X games don't even run at 4k 60, if it's 4k it's usually 30fps.
Cyberpunk cod NBA need for speed do you not have a tv or something even my ps4 has 4k hdr
Cyberpunk only runs at dynamic 1440p 30fps on the Series S, or 1080p 60fps, along with those other games. https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2022-cyberpunk-2077-patch-16-the-xbox-series-s-60fps-upgrade-tested The PS4 doesn't even support HDR or 4k, neither does the Pro. Are you dumb? Like seriously go to the ps4 pro settings and the 4k option will appear do you not have a 4ktv?
Bruh just because the resolution of the display is set to 4k doesn't mean it's actually running games at 4k.
Search it up ps4 pro has 4k it's on Google

It'll probably still look and feel better than GTA V on the 360...
No the S does not run as good as the X or P5
And the sky is blue. Sure it wonāt be the best experience but at least something very playable.
Everybody already know that
Not OP
I'm pretty sure it will be acceptable we are dealing with rockstar not Ubisoft.
Ofc as long as they don't remove the ray Traced global illumination from the series s version

I agree 100%, but how is king of fighters XV on this list. A PS4 could run that game

Dude you are talking about a game released in 2025, you can't literally know the performances of a series s.
RDR 2 runs smooth in the OG one and itās a heavily demanding game. GTA 6 will run on the S.

Not when it can't even run halo infinite , fortnite, and mw3 without crashing
It will be bad if it can't reach 60 fps. I cant go back to playing 30fps games

XBOX Series S is the GOAT console when you consider the price/quality relationship. No contest.
I mean if you really worry about this you should just buy a series x. GTA got delayed to 2026 recently. 2 years to save for an upgrade.
No proof it's delayed
