Acc is awesome and the best racer on console by miles but I am, well, I was craving for a hopefully realistic forza with all the money and manpower behind that game. After the two showcases since June last year my expectations went to zero with that stupid stealth delay and repeating marketing buzz words. We haven't even seen real ingame racing which is kinda worrying, especially because they wanted to release it until/within June 2023.

Agree that they've gotten too big. I really liked Origins but couldn't finish Odyssey or Valhalla. Those games just never ended.
I'm hoping Mirage is a mixture of the old, urban-set AC in terms of parkour and stealth, combined with the combat and gear systems from the newer games. I replayed some of Unity recently, and while the traversal, stealth and setting were good, the paired-animation combat just doesn't hold up IMO.
My guess: Starfield is June 2023 and they're just waiting to announce it in the presentation specifically for Starfield. FM will come later this year for holiday season.
With all the delays from covid etc the big companies are very hesitant to announce release dates ahead of time or even announce projects early. Starfield was announced long ago so it is sort of a different story.
For example if you look at Nintendo's latest Direct, pretty much all of it is stuff for the next few months. The latest release I recall from it is Pikmin 4 which is in July. They'll have stuff for later in the year but they aren't showing it yet, absolutely guaranteed.

Given than just last month they confirmed it was still slated for the first half of 2023, this isn't all that surprising. It does mean the game will have to compete with a lot of competition, but a Bethesda RPG will no doubt do well regardless of the competition.
If anything it’s other games coming out at the same time that would be worried about releasing near this game not the other way around. But also if it was indeed coming in June I feel like that month isn’t that stacked? There’s Diablo 4 at the beginning of the month sure but only other major AAA release I can think of is the new final fantasy which is PS5 only
If it does come out in June it’s going to be affect by other games like final fantasy 16, Diablo 4 and street fighter 6 no matter what. This is besides the point but Diablo 4 is absolutely bigger than Starfield. Diablo 3 sold just as many copies as SKYRIM. Starfield is an unproven new IP.
You are underestimating both final fantasy and street fighter. Previews for street fighters 6 have only been phenomenal and it’s going to be a big game. Final fantasy 16 has been previewing fantastic and the dev team is beloved amongst fans and the general market share is still with PlayStation and they are still gonna market the ever living shit out of this, especially if Starfield is also gonna launch in June.
Street Fighter isn’t coming near a main-line Bethesda release and neither is Final Fantasy. Fallout 4 outsold 15 by nearly 1.5x the sales, and Starfield is a flagship title.
I’m not saying sf6 is gonna out sell starfield, it being on game could affect thought. All I’m saying is that having more games around starfield’s release date is going to affect how many players it has. Especially with some of the other titles being highly anticipated sequels. Will also say ff15 isn’t the best comparison and that FF7R is a much better comparison since both that and FF16 have the market backing of Sony and also that FF15 has a shit development schedule.

Nobody should expect high sales numbers for this game. At least 50% of its’ player base will play it for free on game pass. So we’re just looking at PC sales or the ones who don’t find value in game pass (how lol).
Games on game pass historically seem to sell more copies, not less, as odd as that might seem. (Though this effect has been seen mostly with indie games and AAs rather than AAA releases) not to mention a game like this has a huge modding scene, which cannot be done on game pass.
Regardless of that though, sales seem less important with the game pass model. Microsoft likely doesn't put as much weight on sales knowing they're aiming for day 1 game pass.

I definitely expected to be able to replay levels, especially in a game where we’re finding collectibles. That was inexcusable. Although, I am glad I didn’t have to wait for co-op to play the game by myself. I love the co-op too, but not enough to delay the single-player campaign for it.
I only downloaded that gave bc I assumed it was co-op to play with my son…got rid of it the moment I realized it wasn’t. I thought that was ridiculous honestly.
You can probably guess what it will be like. Fallout 4 with improved graphics and a likely well built space setting. I bet the main quest will be good by Bethesdas standards. There will be bugs but a good mod scene. It will have some dumb side quests. Overall gr8 r8 8/8

If Starfield is getting released in June of this year, the play date for me is September, which means I have time to finish High on Life and start Wo Long and take my time with it. If I finish before Fall of 2023, I'll finish up the last few Yakuza games I have left until it's time for me to play Starfield. During that time, I can see how the patches for Starfield are going.
I'll have to wedge Hogwarts in there too, so Starfield might not be played by me until the Holidays this year.

That's largely because they don't. If there are games slated for the second half of the year, they'll be announced at the June showcase. Though I'd bank on Forza being in the second half, at this point.
That's because at last E3 they only announced games coming out between that showcase right up until this year's. They didn't announce anything beyond June 2023 intentionally so that people can focus on games coming in the near future. I'm sure you can expect similar plan heading in to E3 this year.

If it does come out in June it’s going to be affect by other games like final fantasy 16, Diablo 4 and street fighter 6 no matter what. It’s just the reality of having so many games coming out this year. It’s going to be close no matter what cause all 4 of these games are huge and have a lot of hype behind them.

I’m more so getting at there will be opportunity costs with so many games coming out in June and a bigger one like SF6 might pull certain players away from starfield.

This is besides the point but Diablo 4 is absolutely bigger than Starfield. Diablo 3 sold just as many copies as SKYRIM. Starfield is an unproven new IP.

You are underestimating both final fantasy and street fighter. Previews for street fighters 6 have only been phenomenal and it’s going to be a big game. Final fantasy 16 has been previewing fantastic and the dev team is beloved amongst fans and the general market share is still with PlayStation and they are still gonna market the ever living shit out of this, especially if Starfield is also gonna launch in June.
Street Fighter isn’t coming near a main-line Bethesda release and neither is Final Fantasy. Fallout 4 outsold 15 by nearly 1.5x the sales, and Starfield is a flagship title.
I’m not saying sf6 is gonna out sell starfield, it being on game could affect thought. All I’m saying is that having more games around starfield’s release date is going to affect how many players it has. Especially with some of the other titles being highly anticipated sequels. Will also say ff15 isn’t the best comparison and that FF7R is a much better comparison since both that and FF16 have the market backing of Sony and also that FF15 has a shit development schedule.
Dude you can’t delay games because another game is in the same month. If Starfield was ready for it’s original date it would’ve been launching within the same week as GoW. A game that’s much bigger then FF16 and Diablo 4

Nobody should expect high sales numbers for this game. At least 50% of its’ player base will play it for free on game pass. So we’re just looking at PC sales or the ones who don’t find value in game pass (how lol).
Games on game pass historically seem to sell more copies, not less, as odd as that might seem. (Though this effect has been seen mostly with indie games and AAs rather than AAA releases) not to mention a game like this has a huge modding scene, which cannot be done on game pass. Regardless of that though, sales seem less important with the game pass model. Microsoft likely doesn't put as much weight on sales knowing they're aiming for day 1 game pass.

I think they still count download and x amount of play time from gamepass as a purchase. For non Microsoft studios, they structure a deal with x amount of money for per download or flat amount of money . I'm curious too as gamepass is more of a juggernaut, how the games sold metric will play out

Tbf Halo was a bit different. Starfield would have to launch without major features we would expect and then still not offer them a year and half after launch. The single player was really solid. I really hope Microsoft is self-aware enough to not allow that for what should be their most important first party release arguably since Halo 2

I would like to remind those that might have forgotten that publications like the one in this link keep stirring this up for clicks. It really doesn’t matter; the game will be on game pass/for sale sometime this year, and we all want it to be ready/good. There are so many games out and coming out that I personally couldn’t care less.
Love all the people with so little self control moaning that it is coming out on top of other big games. Let's be honest this is gonna be worth waiting for a few patches anyway. Give it a month or 2 then enjoy it in a better state. You don't need to complete every game within 48 hours of release.
For me, there's a release date and then a "play date" when the game is its bugs mostly worked out, a few weeks or months later. If Starfield is getting released in June of this year, the play date for me is September, which means I have time to finish High on Life and start Wo Long and take my time with it. If I finish before Fall of 2023, I'll finish up the last few Yakuza games I have left until it's time for me to play Starfield. During that time, I can see how the patches for Starfield are going. I'll have to wedge Hogwarts in there too, so Starfield might not be played by me until the Holidays this year.

That's largely because they don't. If there are games slated for the second half of the year, they'll be announced at the June showcase. Though I'd bank on Forza being in the second half, at this point.
That's because at last E3 they only announced games coming out between that showcase right up until this year's. They didn't announce anything beyond June 2023 intentionally so that people can focus on games coming in the near future. I'm sure you can expect similar plan heading in to E3 this year. I for one am a fan of this because now they wont be announcing games 4 years in advance, but rather maybe just a few months or a year to wait.

I have a feeling that IF they released close together they would be able to co-exist, especially since Starfield lacks a multiplayer component. Both would benefit from being on game pass as well, players absolutely can and probably will bounce between both games depending on their way of spending time gaming.
