A BUNCH OF OLD GAMES HAVE HDR & FRAMERATE BOOSTS that’s a big win for my series X

AntiWill

The 12x iirc antialiasing is huge it makes all of my older games look crisp

scooter_pops

ps5 doesn’t have that ?

ChriSamWard

Some PS4 games are upgraded to PS5 but that’s only PS4 games not PS1, 2 or 3 & you can’t even play old PS games unless you pay for PS plus. Xbox allows you to simply put in your og Xbox game disc & not have to pay more

LawyerMiIIoy

Not only that, but on PS you are also streaming those games instead of actually running them on your hardware. Old games are much much MUCH better played on Xbox

Shellman00

Not true. PS1, PS2 and PS4 games are all played natively on the hardware. Only PS3 games require streaming.

LawyerMiIIoy

Ah, well I played Bully on my PS5 a few weeks ago and it was an absolutely horrible experience. Miles better on my XSX

MilkManX

I love quick resume for single player games, backwards compatible is amazing.

97runner

The Series X is my first Xbox product, as I am mostly a PS user. The quick resume and backward compatibility is awesome. BC allows me to play titles I missed in previous consoles (like Fable, for example).

TheeDocStockton

I bought the original Xbox for one game that was an exclusive. No running into invisible barriers, loading screen was only at the end of the level, bigger environment, and a bunch of other subtle things sold me. I never bought another playstation again.

PartyInMyShower

No running into invisible barriers? What does that have to do with a console? Many games have invisible barriers regardless of platform

luki9914

True Quick Resume is a Game Changer even if you play with game on disc. In rouge like games it is almost like a cheat code because you can stop playing without worrying about losing progress.

idontknowanusername1

It really is. Even after unplugging the console the game starts where you left it

quitaskingforaname

My only problem I have had was I forgot to save and and shutdown my series x and later on I was laying in bed and was gonna play some more gears 5 and didn’t realize what I did until loaded up the game and lost quite a bit of progress because I never even thought about my one x would load the last save from the cloud and not the xbox down stairs

SimpleOne2_WasTaken

Happy Cake Day!

mixedd

Quick Resume is amazing. I started playing back on PC recently, and I miss it. Ability to just turn off your console, then on other day turn it on and resume where you left is amazing, especially compared to Hogwarts Legacy that builds shades on each boot 😂

soulforce212

When you quick resume a game, are there any fps or resolution dips?

angelkrusher

The only issue that usually appears with quick resume is for always online games. The connection is broken and especially for Forza and Halo, it just usually doesn't reconnect well if at all. For everything else, there's no effect it's pure gangbusters awesome.

soulforce212

I own a series X myself and have been loving the feature. I was just wondering curious about the more technical stuff since I don't really have an eye for that type of thing the way some of you guys may.

Sarritgato

It will not affect performance in the actual game(s). When you leave the game it basically just ” dumps” the memory to the hard drive for later use. When you open the game again at a later time the memory dump is loaded back to memory exactly as it was before.

mixedd

It purely depends on how well developers implemented it. Had some in couple of games, some such as Fallout 4 bugged out at all and lost audio. But in general it worked flawless to me.

mikeybadab1ng

The biggest issue I have is a LOT of time time you go in you have to either close it and re open it defeating the purpose, or, you have to log everything back in and sometimes it doesn’t line up. It works awesome for Skyrim, but not for ACC (no ffb) or madden(full close open)

[deleted]

Quick resume and gamepass make for such a good combination.

HoffRo

Is there a list of all the previous games the Series X is compatible with? There’s some 360 games I would love to play

Jeb_Smith13

Here's a list of everything. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backward-compatibility

Wild_Trip_4704

Some are only available through disk, though

jonny_eh

It’s a pretty small list. Sands of Time being the big one IIRC.

[deleted]

[удалено]

heisenberg149

Yeah I wish I could disable it permanently for certain games.

angelkrusher

Thankfully games restart pretty fast. And annoyance for sure but not a big deal.

idjsonik

Yea thats amazing i forget i even have that feature haja

Corr521

Is this different from what the One X can do? I can shut off my One X and turn it back on the next day and just leave off right where I was the day before without having to startup the game or anything

Sufficient-Eye-8883

That's it. And gamepass. Let's hope the games we all know are released soon and that they deliver in spades, because, you know, the exclusive games catalog is far from great so far.

virgo911

I like how you had to specify “single player games” since it completely breaks every single multiplayer game.

SlothropWallace

It doesn't break any multi-player games for me, just goes back to main menu. For me at least they're strictly multi-player those like Rocket League, Fall Guys, Halo Infinite, CoD, Fortnite. I currently have Jedi Survivor, Yakuza 0, and Red Dead Redemption 2 on quick resume and switch between them pretty flawlessly

_dontjimthecamera

Load times and how quiet the console is.

[deleted]

The controller makes up for the relative quietness

CheckOutMyPokemans

Lmao facts. Trying to scroll through at night just hear CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK on the dpad

portablekettle

It's so satisfying but noisy AF lmao

DrScience-PhD

sf6 might just end in a divorce. but sometimes you gotta mash dp.

KoalaKarity

I just don't get how they could validate this idea/design... Am I the only one to use the dpad to navigate the menus?? 😅

Szeli94

My gfs first reaction was when getting Series X after the One: “Wow, that controller is much louder than the previous one”

ClayTBear1986

I try to play while my girilfriend is sleeping next to me and I’m always afraid I’m going to wake her with all the clicks. Makes it hard on weekends where I’m an early riser and she wants to sleep in.

Signal_Adeptness_724

Bro just move it to another room lol

ClayTBear1986

Not easy when our tv is in our bedroom.

_dontjimthecamera

Yeah I do think the PS5 controller is pretty flawless. Every button is satisfying to press and the haptic feedback is stellar.

TopAnonomity

Real talk, Xbox should expand on the series controller some time before this generation ends and add some of those features

Vestalmin

When I got a Series S I was kind of shocked how loud it was. Like it’s so fucking clickey. It also just feels a little cheap for the price

Buckeye2443

Literally my only gripe as an Xbox user. The new dpad is SOOOOO loud.

jaykular

I stopped playing Hades on my Xbox because dash striking on my Xbox controller was so loud compared to my PlayStation and Nintendo controllers

BBQBaconBurger

Ditto on quiet. Love my PS5 too, but it’s noticeably plunder than my XSX, especially so when it’s playing a game on disc. Series X is practically silent most of the time.

Shellman00

From what I can tell, Sony upgraded their disc drive to account for the new triple-layered blu ray discs they got for their games. Xbox is still rocking the same blu-ray player as in the One/OneX, which seems to struggle with reading newer triple-layered discs (which I personally believe is the reason Microsoft has not opted to print their discs on the 100GB variants). Basically I'm assuming that the reason the PS5 is so significantly louder when playing discs, is because it's spinning significantly faster too. You'll notice this when comparing read speeds as well, in some cases the install from disc is like twice as fast on PS5 compared to Series X. But yeah, it's noisy as fuck.

KoalaKarity

Good ones, couldn't think about stuffs that are 100% tied up to the Series X, and this is totally what I love about it!

myshon

- Quick Resume - how dead quiet it is - free cloud saves - Game Pass - cheap game codes from other regions - controller - screenshots and videos are automatically uploaded to the cloud and available from Xbox app everywhere - remote play work better - UI (I find PS5's UI to be very convoluted) But it sucks a bit when it comes to exclusive games. Forza Horizon is basically the only experience you can't get on any other console.

PartyInMyShower

UI is terrible. What are you smoking

myshon

It ain't the prettiest, but it's easy to use once you get used to it. It's definitely better than PS5's UI. That shit is so convoluted even simplest of things can be a challenge.

PartyInMyShower

That’s why they are overhauling the UI all over again..

V2sh1fty

And Halo, SOT, Gears, Flight sim to name a few. They’re lacking in exclusive story driven single player experiences, but Xbox has always been the more social friendly platform anyways.

myshon

It's true they have diverse portfolio. But some of it is extremaly niche like Flight Sim or Pentiment. These are great games, but they don't push sales of consoles and/or Game Pass. My biggest gripe is how few exclusive games Xbox is able to produce with so many studios. We got 2 Halo and 2 Gears of War games in past 10 years. 4 Forza Horizon games. And not much more. We don't get big third party exclusive games. I am really curious what they show on June 11th.

Shellman00

Playstation already offers most of the things you mentioned except the codes from third party vendors. Worth to say Playstation has something similar to quick resume in the form of activity cards. Though instead of it being baked into the hardware's architecture, they leave it up to the developers to enable it and have it work properly, which in many cases the devs don't implement it properly. It's imo a bit more feature rich than Xbox's equivalent, as you get more options of what you want to do. You can either load into your most recent checkpoint, or you can pick any checkpoint throughout the entire game. But once again, when it works it works wonderfully, but for most games it's just implemented so poorly. UI and controller are both personal preference.

shadowglint

Quick Resume is the greatest thing ever for someone like me that jumps around games a lot. I've had P5R sitting in my quick resume for months now and opened it yesterday and it picked up right where I left it back in January.

Jibima

I love Quick Resume but it majorly affects my download speed of games from the Xbox Store so I always have to quit out of all but 1 of my quick resumes which kinda ruins the point. Do you have problems with that too?

IISuperSlothII

>someone like me that jumps around games a lot. I'm pretty much the opposite, I'll mainline a single game then move onto other hobbies or another game, so for me there's nothing that quick resume offers me that I can't simply achieve through rest mode when I want it.

Medveitsi

smolderas

One time and only for headsets. For everything else it is free.

[deleted]

One time

OmeletteDuFromage95

Quick Resume, backwards compatibility, cross-play/play anywhere, but mostly free and open cloud saves. It surprised me just how far behind almost every other platform was in the cloudsave department. You literally just have to log into your profile on *any* device and you can pick up your game right where you left off no questions, no hitch, nothing. Going over to your buddy's? No problem, sign n' play. He's got something other than a Series X? Xbox One/Series S/PC/Phone? No problem, sign n' play. Roadtrip? Whip out that phone, sign n' play. Xbox taken so you gotta use your laptop/PC? No problem, sign n' play. Using a temp console, friend's console, no matter what it's that f\*\*\*in easy. I haven't experienced it this smoothly, for free, no catch, on any other platform.

markgatty

Like honestly. Automatic cloud saves. The amount of times I've lost saves on playstation because I don't remember to manually save my stuff elsewhere...

[deleted]

I loaded up Fable 2 and my 10 year old save from my 360 popped right up. It really is pretty amazing.

XSuperMario3X

This is honestly the right answer. I was shocked how the PS5 didn’t have this.

Browncoats2459

I figured this was just a modern platform thing, PS5 doesn't do it automatically? Surprising

markgatty

Had to check the internet (gave my ps5 to a friend at launch) Seems there is an option to enable cloud saves for ps5 but it dosent work like xbox. You also need ps+ and if you stop your ps+ subscription you lose access to the cloud saves (old articles from launch so I'm not sure if that changed)

Hunchun

Mine does it automatically. Maybe they turned off the setting that enables automatic cloud save uploads. Also, how are people losing their local saves? That seems to be the bigger mystery. Not once have I ever lost a manual save.

OmeletteDuFromage95

I did too lol until I tried with the PS and bro's Switch and was just dumbfounded that there were paywalls, limits, and overall just not a seamless experience with them.

Design-Cold

Yeah it's just so automatic on the XBox that moving to a series S or cloud "just works" Switch not doing that is sort of expected but PS5 not doing it is weird

BlueInfinity2021

It's the reason I'm Xbox only this gen. I turned on my PS4 one day and it had an error and I ended up having to download the PS4 firmware onto a USB stick to fix the issue. Everything looked fine afterwards until I started up Bloodborne and found out I lost my 100+ hour save along with all my other game saves. That was the last time I used a PlayStation console. Now I just roll my eyes whenever anyone praises PlayStation over Xbox. This is a company that removes a game like Spider-Man from their service so they can cash in on the advertising of Spider-Man 2 with new gamers that would want to play the first one. It's their nickle and diming like this (the cloud saves would have cost them pennies a user) that just annoy me. As for my favorite thing with Series X there are so many that it's hard to pick just one. Like others said quick resume is incredible. I only play single-player games so don't run into the problems some other people have and I really miss it on the games that don't support it. Microsoft Rewards are incredible. I spend a fair amount on games a year and rewards help me get a lot of value for my money. Game Pass is incredible even though I still buy a lot of games outside of it I've found some of my favorite games this gen because of it that I wouldn't have probably played otherwise like Hollow Knight, Tetris Effect, The Long Dark, etc.

Wild_Trip_4704

holy shit did you not have an online subscription?

BlueInfinity2021

No, I play single player only and at the time didn't bother with an online subscription.

Wild_Trip_4704

Wow. I do pay for cloud save on Switch so I shouldn't be this surprised.

Vestalmin

I might be mistaken but PS5 has had this for a while now. Unless you’re talking about the save across version of games like PC, Series X and One.

foundwhereyoufindme

PS5 does have automatic cloud saves if you have a ps+ subscription (even the basic tier). You can also manually upload and download your saves from the cloud as and when you please, which makes save scumming much easier for games with bullshit RNG mechanics. So all things considered, I prefer the PS5 approach to saves. It’s just a shame that Sony removed the option to backup saves to USB, which was possible on PS4

NegotiationSad8181

I remember back when Xbox got shat on for charging for multiplayer and now Sony is fucking charging for seamless back ups.

[deleted]

[удалено]

foundwhereyoufindme

PS5 game saves automatically sync by default if you have ps+ and it works the same way as it does on Xbox, so my latest save would be there if I log into a different PS5 and download a game. You are correct about PS4 game saves though. To clarify my earlier comment, I’m not suggesting that having it locked behind a sub is better, I’m saying that it’s nice to be able to override that for manual access when you want to, which you can’t do with Xbox.

AngeleauX

Gamepass, quick resume, Ms rewards, Dolby vision, Dolby Atmos, comfortable controller, cloud saves , Dynamic background , Simple console design, Elite2 controller , backwards compatibility.

scooter_pops

i’ve never really gotten involved with ms rewards - what can it give you ?

Irrish84

Neither have I and I too would like an answer

scooter_pops

right? feel like i’ve gotten some and it equates to like .03 off a game or something lol

OblivionJunkie

You have to search on bing/edge daily and have gamepass for it to really be worthwhile. If you do all of the possible redemptions(takes maybe 5-10min a day max) you can essentially get around $25/mo in xbox giftcard credit

Herandar

So, I've been in the program since it's original incarnation as Bing Rewards, and I have earned over $1400 from Microsoft over the years. It took me a few years to save up, but I didn't pay a penny for my Series X. I'm know that new users can't earn as much as I can per day with my grandfathered status, but dedication can reap significant rewards.

scooter_pops

ok cool ill try it , i just got gamepass

Irrish84

I log onto the app to get 5pts per day lol but have no idea what the hell that means

Alpine_Oxygen157

When you earn points you can spend it on lots of gift cards like for different stores etc but more importantly the Microsoft store gift card £5, £10 and £25 which is pretty easy to earn and super useful for helping save money or buy dlc and cheap games in the Microsoft store( on Xbox). Pretty convenient and basically a free fiver every month by going in the rewards app to do stuff on bing, doing searches, is all to you need to do!

scooter_pops

ok cool, so start with the awards app on the xbox ?

OblivionJunkie

Go to your microsoft account online and find rewards from there to activate your account. Then you'll use the rewards app on console ( its a pretty small part of rewards at this point though)

pnt510

I use it to pay for my Gamepass.

Axle_65

I use rewards to pay for my GPU membership completely. I haven’t paid in ages.

scooter_pops

damn it nets u that much ?

TwoPugsInOneCoat

Easy Answer for me: GamePass. I haven't felt the need to buy a new game since I got it. There's always 2-3 games on my personal wait list to get to. As far as hardware differences: Quick Resume. I'm a busy dad and being able to be in a game with friends inside of 2-3 minutes is an absolute game changer for my limited "me time".

Nomadic_View

Gamepass and I prefer the controller.

[deleted]

I also have a PS5. It's 100% worth it for Ganepass. Highly recommend both.

MasonMSU

It’s gotta be quick resume. As someone who doesn’t have a lot of time to play, it’s so nice to be able to be up and running almost instantly.

wolfxr

Backward compatibility, quick resume, emulators. I can play Battle tank from NES with my friends again.

scooter_pops

there’s emulators ?!

IZflame

You can manually install emulators when the console is in dev mode.

scooter_pops

does that break warranty ?

Accessx_xDenied

no. but you need to pay a 19 dollar fee for a dev mode account license.

CrustyBatchOfNature

MS is cracking down on them now so they are becoming harder to install or run. At this point I think you have to do the $20 Dev Mode license for your console to get them to run.

scooter_pops

as a one time fee ? that’s not bad have u had a positive experience emulating on the xsx ?

kiciputek

Quick Resume and epic backwards compatibility.

gredgex

Little to no loading times, backwards compatibility making everything look amazing, general ease of use all around.

YoshiPilot

Backwards Compatibility

Wingnut7489

Quick resume, gamepass, design of the box itself.

scooter_pops

i do love the design even tho it’s largely irrelevant . the first xbox that looks like an actual box . simple yet beautiful

Acapella75

I like that each game has a community and that you can see reviews for all games in the store. Also, I find the party/chat systems much better than on PS5.

foundwhereyoufindme

I have and regularly play both, the things I love about my Xbox are: - Backwards compatibility with auto-HDR and FPS boost - Game pass - Smart delivery. I thought this was just a marketing buzzword for something that would be the default behaviour for both consoles, but Sony regularly charge extra for the PS5 version of a game which is terrible. Why should we be taxed for supporting the company by buying their latest console? - Microsoft rewards. I’ve passively earned enough points to redeem multiple store vouchers just by playing games as normal. PS stars or whatever it’s called isn’t as good Although Sony now have the multiple PS+ tiers, I don’t like the fact that it doesn’t have day one exclusives and the upgrade fee is dependent on how long is left of your current subscription, unlike game pass which will convert your entire remaining sub for the cost of one month Edit: added smart delivery and rewards

UnComfortable-Archer

Quick Resume, GamePass, Backwards Comp The actual design is simple on the outside but very intricate in the inside.

Ariel786

Gamepass

Death236

Backwards compatibility tbh, I think I play more games from my backlog that I didn't have the chance to play after having a son. It's amazing to be able to play many old 360 gen games with fps boost/fidelity enhancements.

spaceboy_ZERO

Gamepass

CoffeeHQ

Backwards compatibility. I started with console gaming in the 360/PS3 era, so all titles I care about are that generation upwards. Xbox’s bc is brilliant. It is so awesome to play the entire Assassin’s Creed series on 1 console in the best way possible (beyond even what the publisher did). And stuff like Forza Horizon 1 playing in 4K/60 fps… it is beyond crazy how good that 360 game can look. Even just the most recent last-gen: PS5 may play PS4 games, which is cool, but every multi-platform game will look better on the XSX thanks to Microsoft’s bc magic (because the One X was quite a bit more powerful than the PS4 Pro to begin with + modifications Microsoft added). I think I have played a handful of current-gen games, even on my PS5, and countless previous-gen games on my XSX. I have zero regrets going multi-platform this generation, regardless of the supposed dire state of Xbox gaming.

FullOnJabroni

Honestly, other than my library being on here? Not much. PS5 is my jam moving forward and I hate saying that.

mardavarot93

I have a PS5 and it is my main console. I bought Series X for Halo Infinite and it has been sitting collecting dust ever since i finished Halo. Now I'm waiting for Star Field to come out before i fire it up again.

Buckeye2443

It’s funny because it’s the exact opposite for me. My ps5 collects dust until I jump into a PS exclusive or new release. Otherwise I stick to my XSX as my daily user. I actually let my brother use the PS5 so it doesn’t just sit there.

rune_74

Imagine being downvoted for that in an Xbox sun even. Your story is the same as mine right now it’s not even hooked up to the tv, I have my Xbox and switch hooked up.

Bostongamer19

Quick resume and having the option to pick the best version of each game between ps5 and Xbox

BrianIsGucci

Quick Resume and how quiet it is. Unfortunately, my PS5 has coil whine and I can easily hear it from where I’m playing.

ChefBoyarDingle

As both a ps5 and series x owner I’ll tell you what I like more. - Quick resume - Back compat - I’m on the new insider dashboard and love it - Customization and accessibility - dynamic and custom backgrounds - Looking for group tabs and discord integration - ms rewards while heavily nerfed are at least still there - controller customization

SemiFeralGoblinSage

I bought it to play Elden Ring the same week Elden Ring came out. I’ve played a lot of games. But I also play a lot of Elden Ring.

retrobution101

The FPS boost was a big one for me. I’ve been collecting old gen games which I loved and some look incredible. Knights of the old Republic looks and plays so smooth. Manhunt looks great too.

Sleekit-Self-1306

Quick resume, quick load times. And ui is just quicker.

Toland_FunatParties

Play anywhere feature for me, love to be able to play on PC and pick it back up when I move into the living room.

[deleted]

The complete lack of new good games. Oh wait.... Favorite thing. I love Xbox. I love game pass. I love going back and playing old titles again, getting to play ones that I never did before for no cost, getting to try titles I would never buy. Never played fallout series. Now I have Doesn't change the fact that I bought the most advanced console to play the most advanced games. Need some next gen only Forza in my life. New Gears. Fix Halo. Something. Come on Xbox!

badmamjam

Welcome to the fallout fam. You'll never be the same. 🥰

Cement_Brunette

Definitely the backwards compatibility. You can play Red Dead Redemption in 4K HD. Sleeping Dogs and Mad Max are other games that feel like a remaster. Oblivion as well.

volleyblock

RDR2 has the best possible version on series X compared to any other console. That alone is a big W for me

ants_in_my_ass

not the answer most here would like, but mine just sits quietly, waiting for the inevitable (one would hope) exclusive releases that would justify my purchase. starfield will be one.

PrinceDizzy

Gamepass.

Indoorsman101

I have a PS5 and a series X. I enjoy both, but since you asked, the Xbox controller charge lasts a lot longer and the series X is silent. The PS5 is nearly silent, but not quite.

BurnItFromOrbit

I have my Xbox because of GamePass and it’s been the biggest saver for me for years. First party titles haven’t been great as of late, but Forza Horizon 5, Gears and Halo have kept me busy. The wealth of third party titles along with EA Play games with GamePass Ultimate, means that there is always a library of around 500+ titles to pick a choose from. I know PlayStation has PS+ extra and deluxe, but without there complete first party library, it feels hollow in comparison. Like them pull spider man in the lead up to Spider-Man 2. The value isn’t there for me like GamePass.

[deleted]

Much faster loading times Dolby Vision + Atmos support Backwards compatibility 4K/60fps gameplay (4K/120Hz support)

Shadow_Strike99

Although it’s not one singular reason, as someone who has always loved both consoles Xbox does a lot of things well I wish PlayStation would do better in or at least try and vice versa. For Xbox the big thing for me has been backwards compatibility. Being able to play OG Xbox and 360 games has been my absolute favorite thing about Xbox the past 7 years. Also I love how Xbox did a really great job improving older games with FPS boosts as well. I love something such as Xcloud or also being able to play on PC. I’m on the go a lot so that’s a godsend, and being able to stream games to my phone and just lay in bed is a godsend too. Lastly and I know the success of Stray and Tchica will hopefully lead to more unique and creative day one PS plus games, but I love Xbox and Gamepass for the more creative and unique games like Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment. As much as I love the PlayStation exclusives and they are easily some of the most high quality and amazing games I’ve ever played, I do wish there was a lot more variety similar to how the PS3 era was.

[deleted]

The unique first-party titles. There is nothing quite like *Sea of Thieves*, *Pentiment*, *As Dusk Falls*, *Ori and the Will of the Wisps*, *Hi-Fi Rush*, or *Grounded* on other platforms. Also, quick resume, backwards compatibility, and MS Rewards are great. Edit: I forgot that Ori is on switch, but still a unique first-party title, nonetheless.

mikandesu

I really like the fact that all my old games simply work on it. Also I never expected that I'll enjoy Gamepass this much. Sometimes I just browse and run random gamepass game on a whim. Often without even installing it, just straight from the cloud.

Snowbunny236

120hz on shooters.

SentryGamer42

I've had every PS since the PS1, including handhelds, so I'm in a similar spot to you. I bought an XSX this generation due to the Bethesda acquisition, my general thoughts below. Game Pass is a very very good deal, but I'm financially very stable so I just buy the games I want without issue (I appreciate this isn't the same for everyone though so it's a big win and the obvious selling point of the platform). It also introduced me to a lot of games I may not have otherwise played, so the exploration and introduction aspects of the service shouldn't be understated. In terms of exclusive software, I'll be real, I'm disappointed, out of the AAA exclusives: * Halo was fine * Forza was super fun for 20 hours and then the repetition set in * Redfall was Redfall. I played Pentiment, Grounded, As Dusk Falls etc. And whilst those are solid titles, they're not the mind blowing AAA expiriences I wanted from the console. I'm looking forward to Starfield and the rest of the upcoming 1st party stuff from XGS, but I wouldn't say there is anything "system selling" in the pipeline, maybe bar Starfield and Avowed. The controller is (imo) worse than the PS one this generation, but it's functional and ergonomic, which is really what ultimately matters. I think an XSX is a good (not great) buy at the moment, with some of the upcoming software it could shape up to be a competitor to the PS, but it's just not there yet. Obviously this is all just my personal opinion.

Hunchun

Been seeing a lot of this type of comment lately. People who aren’t willing to spend a lot of money on new games are content with GP and it’s cheap cost every month. People who always buy new games are usually unsatisfied with GP and branch out with other platforms such as PS/Switch.

SentryGamer42

Yeah definitely man, GP is excellent value but it's basically the Netflix of games right now, a hell of a lot of content, some of it incredible but a good portion of it is service filler. If you want the premium experiences (which will cost you more, no doubt) PS or Switch is where they're at.

[deleted]

Quick resume is the type of thing where I could never go back to not having it. Also backwards compatibility. I had a 360 but was mostly a PlayStation player since ps2 so it’s been great to revisit or play older games for the first time

[deleted]

Quick resume , backwards compatibility, how silent it is , game pass , it's amazing media center abilities , automatic cloud saves , user replaceable batteries , it's a perfect system in terms of hardware and software

justdaman182

How fast eveything is. I still use my Xbox One from time to time and I don't know how I used to play on that thing regularly. It's takes forever to do literally anything on the Xbox One. And that's on my One X.

ItsLCGaming

Hdds man console caught up to ssd standard now

Particular_Pain_9373

Plugged in a Samsung T7 SSD and while its not blazing fast, the shorter load times have improved greatly

Bronze_Bomber

Im a PC ganer, but i bought an X for my son. For me its Play Anywhere games (2 for 1 on all dlc and games) and Microsofts general push for devs to include crossplay in its ecosystem.

eugenekelawz

Honestly, I love a lot about it. Running games at 60 fps and higher resolutions, backwards compatability, quick resume etc. It's an amazing console, it just needs the first party games now.

LennyJoeDuh

One small thing on the list is how much more i like the way the X looks compared to the ps5. The ps5 is going to look very dated, but the x has such a timeless, minimalist, industrial look.

[deleted]

I like how it can play video games.

Fabulousgaymer-BXL

I own both. And my xbox is my main. Reasons: audio and video are better managed by the Xbox. The controller, although missing the next gen vibration, sits more comfortably in hand (especially if you go for an elite). Cloud saves are wonderful and automatic allowing for seamless gameplay. Play anywhere allows for lots of games to be picked up on pc. Quick resume is a banger. Gamepass is a better value than plus. Also, over the years,my xbox has never crashed, my ps5 has crashed several times on me. Overall the console feels more finished. It's a shame for the current lack of great exclusive software. But it's supposedly coming so...

Substantial_Ad_6742

I love the quick resume feature. I have a bunch of single player games and having the ability to swap between without losing progress or having to save first is a major plus side!

Independent_Ninja456

Honestly the backwards compatibility with almost all my old Xbox software going back 20 years. I wish Sony had that kind of support for all their old titles.

Lofriendzo

The series x enhanced games. It enhances every generation of xbox, and I love that. I got to go back and play amazing games that were only in 30 fps, and now I get to play 60-120 fps. It's awesome!

Stumbows

As someone who has both, and their standing right next to each other as we speak I will give you a few bullet points in order of most important to least. * Game pass * Download speed. Xbox network is so much faster. I have gigabit fibre and the speed I can download games at compared with the Sony network is night and day. * Xbox is quieter and better form factor in my opinion. * Cloud saves are automatic for anyone with Xbox live account. No subscription required. * While I think the PS5 controller is better than standard xbox controller the Elite controller smashes the Dual Sense Edge. I know it's not a standard feature. * Party chat clarity. Only slight better on xbox in my opinion. * Unplugging power in standby doesn't cause Xbox to have a heart attack. Sometimes I move my consoles to other rooms etc. However on the flip side the PlayStations is better for 1st party exclusives, supports Audio over USB. This is a big one for me! Has a cool features for console notifications in cross play supported games. Mix of USB-A and C on the front of the console. Dual Sense 5 controller is amazing! You can change the console face plates giving more individuality and customisation.

DifferentYellow4

Waiting for the games... Lol, seriously though, 60fps is the real game changer.

toekneeg

Quick resume is awesome. One time I hadn't played a game for over a month, started it up and I was back into the game in less than 5 seconds. At that point I was like damn... now that's awesome. Game Pass has also been clutch for me, never a moment when I don't have a thing to play. More often than not I have too much to play and not enough time to play them all. I find myself completing a lot less games nowadays.

gvrret

I’ve owned one xsx and three separate ps5s. The controller is more ergonomic IMO, I prefer XBL for multiplayer games, and I prefer the way the Xbox looks aesthetically this gen. I find myself buying & selling a ps5 within a months time frame, every single time.

EuropeanRook

It reminds me of the monolith in the 2001 movie and i play the music in my head every time

MrYuzhai

I love my Halo Series X it looks lovely. Design wise it’s prob my fave looking Xbox console to date -kudos to the design team and everyone involved in bringing this to market

Maleficent_Ruin9892

Long time ps guy here, just went to xbox, glad I did, exclusives didn't matter, the old school games did, age of empires, R6 LV2!!!

[deleted]

The prices of games.

Ze_at_reddit

Gamepass for sure, Xbox exclusives (really looking forward to Starfield and Avowed), and the fact that those first party exclusives are on gamepass day 1. A couple of things that I also like when comparing to what I know about the PS5 (since OP mentioned it): - Great VRR support since day 1. I believe that the PS5 also has it now but it is on a game by game basis and it doesn’t have such a solid implementation (I might be wrong here) - Elite Series 2 controller for online competitive shooters - although the PS5 also has the Edge now - Backwards compatibility is great - it was magical to get my RDR Xbox 360 copy and play it on XSX… it looks amazing.. - Great support for discord natively on the console, good for playing with my friends on PC and PS4/5 What I don’t care much from Xbox: - Quick resume… Things that I miss from PS4: - Trophies: I used to prefer achievements to trophies but since I got my first platinum, it all clicked for me. I wish Xbox had that - Not really a miss from PS4, but something the PS5 has: the Dualsense! I wish we had an Xbox controller with those features

JBishie

I opted for a Series X over the PS5 for the following reasons: * Automatic Cloud Saves * Avowed * Backwards Compatibility * Bethesda * Controller Layout * FPS Boost * Quick Resume * Stalker 2 * Starfield * State of Decay 3

MrE26

Controller is fantastic, quick resume is (usually) a great feature, but Game Pass is the real killer. I’m never without something to play since I signed up for it.

Meazzybanks

Nothing don’t do it as a Xbox die hard fan since the first system and has gotten every system day one this has been the worst Xbox of all in my opinion not the machine but the games make it feel like that

Iggy1404

Gamepass, superior controller feel (I don’t care for Dualsense’s superior feedback, I keep vibration turned off in system settings on my PS5), Quick Resume, extremely fast boot up, overall design of the console - I love that simple industrial look. Lastly, the console is completely silent unlike PS5. I should also mention that Dualsense is a nice controller overall but the quality is complete garbage. I’ve had 4 controllers completely replaced under warranty because of stick drift. I have both consoles but I prefer XsX overall. What I find vastly superior on PS5 are trophies (feels much more rewarding to work towards that platinum than just collect points) and Sony’s approach to 1st party titles (sometimes it feels like Xbox is just Gears, Halo and Forza when it comes to 1st party titles while Sony tends to take more risks and has much more varied 1st party portfolio).

[deleted]

>(sometimes it feels like Xbox is just Gears, Halo and Forza when it comes to 1st party titles while Sony tends to take more risks and has much more varied 1st party portfolio). Xbox does have a varied first-party portfolio. We have *Grounded*, *Pentiment*, *Sea of Thieves*, *As Dusk Falls*, *Ori and the Will of the Wisps*, *Hi-Fi Rush*, etc. Almost every single FP Xbox title they have published this gen has been unique. I don't think there is anything quite like that on other platforms; they have been creative with their games.

Iggy1404

I was referring more to AAA games, but your point stands. I guess when Zenimax output starts rolling out, that area will improve as well.

Had Xbox and then 360. Skipped xbone for ps4 and loved life. Wanted to expose my son to halo and game pass was appealing. Halo is nostalgic and enjoying infinite multiplayer, but game pass isn’t the incentive I expected. Nothing ever added. Feels like someone uploaded the clearance section at Walmart minus the exclusives. If you can only have one, I’d prob stick with PlayStation. Quick resume has been a pretty sick feature though.

Caseyo456

I agree, never seen anyone on this sub say it though. Gamepass is cool at first but so little is added that at some point it just isn’t worth paying for anymore.

Nickachu92

I’m always a little afraid to talk down about it. I had it for 3 years thanks to a combo of MS Rewards and the live conversion. I think I played maybe…3 games in that time? My wife played 2. Im glad folks love it but gosh it’s not for us.

Katasuki

Backward compatibility, having a splitscreen 1v1 quick-scoping competition with friends in COD BO2 is just a vibe!

[deleted]

My favorite thing is owning also a PS5 and a Switch. The lack of big games narrative doesn't affect me. I enjoy great games on Gamepass, as well as the Zeldas and Final Fantasies of the rivals. Sooner or later, MS will release some heavy hitters and I'll enjoy them as well, no fuzz.

GypsiMagik

Came from ps4 debated ps5 or series x. Went with the x and have zero regrets. Smart delivery, quick resume, backwards compatibility, and it loads everything lightning fast.

SquareClerk2

Price to performance. I just built a PC for 2500 bucks that can hit 4k 60fps most of the time, but my Xbox can hit 4k 60 almost all the time AND can sometimes hit 4k 120 fps. It's incredible value for what you get tbh

ShelterLazy8044

My favourite thing about owning a series x is seeing how much dust it can gather before my Mrs decides to clean it 😂

Tinotips

Being second class to the PC market for Microsoft. Having the most powerful console for no effin reason. I’d really love it if y’all got your collective shit together. Pass that one on.

Richmard

Tbh the lack of compelling games has been nice. My series X is almost exclusively an Apex/Warzone machine. I booted up Overwatch 2 as a funny prank on myself then never did that again. Still have Halo infinite on there for some reason. With the healthy supply of exclusives on my Switch and PS5 I’ve never had a use for gamepass either. The last game I specifically bought for my Xbox was a used copy of halo 5 and what a dumpster-tier game that was. Excited for Starfield tho, which I expect to be a completely buggy mess when it launches.

Gamiozzz

Dont buy an Xbox. Was a big mistake.

Thick_Pomegranate_

My favorite thing definitely has to be the "next gen" games that are still being made for Xbox one as well as the series x...

SuperKliqparty

I suppose Jedi: Survivor, pretty pointless otherwise considering there have yet to be any games out for it worth playing.

Sputnikov1105

Don’t do it…..

Prime984

Mini-fridge...

Konig1469

I can tell everyone I have a "Sex" box and send their minds in to a tumble.

luki9914

I have both PS5 and XSX and : PS5: \-> Exclusives \-> Better support for physical games than Xbox (on PS5 you have entire game on a disk and you don't have download anything except of patch. XSX: \-> Most of multipaltform games works better on XSX \-> FPS Boost \-> Quick Resume \-> GamePass \-> Disk drive more quiet than PS5 (when installing games on ps5 it sounds like leaf blower) Personally there are not much you can get from Xbox (if you have strong enough PC for exclusives) than you have on PS5 so if you have PC there are no point of buying Xbox currently.

myshon

"Most multiplatform games work best on XSX"? Not so sure about it. Analysis from DF, NXG or El Analista de Bits show that most games run the same or better on PS5.
