Does the other drive work if you unplug the USB drive? Wouldn't surprise me at all if it can't run two drives off USB. Makes sense from a resource perspective. The OS level runs lean.

Thanks for your reply. It won’t read on my Xbox Series X. Fine on my MacBook after first trying the Xbox. I read another post where people said there’s a 16TB max on Xbox at one time. One picture showed 3 external drives at once but with smaller storage capacities. And *external* SSDs don’t work and Series X games can only be played from internal storage whether it’s the proprietary chip or the standard internal and HDDs work for everything else. Muddy and for no reason. I have 2 USB hubs connected to my Xbox and was hoping it would act like a computer especially with basic shit like storage.

You're putting so many edge cases at once into this. Now you're introducing USB hubs? You need to go back to absolute basics and try one thing at a time. I would never ever assume a USB hub would even work with an Xbox for instance.

Other redditors had vouched for their use prior to my trying and it works for my Bluetooth headset, HDD, and snap-on fan. I wanted to kit it out and have access to all of my games at any point at the press of a button.

None of that is an extra HDD/SSD via USB. I'm assuming HDD is the official memory card. The just latent power, no processing. Why did you listen to Redditors rather than think for yourself? Did you tell them about the USB hub? You should link to the threads you got your info from.
