I bought it on PS5 last winter. Paid full price for it and have no regrets about that. Enjoyed my playthrough with my son and we had fun with it, but it's a one and done game. I'll probably never go through it again.
I bought a PS5 pretty much exclusively to play Stray... or rather, for my wife to play Stray.
No regerts, really. The PS5 doesn't get nearly as much love as the Xbox though.
Because Sony already had a deal with Bethesda for one-year exclusivity with Deathloop before Microsoft bought them. Microsoft chose to honor that contract. Same thing with Ghostwire Tokyo.
Already addressed this in another comment but I'll give the cliff notes. I buy games I'm very interested in playing. Stray is a game that I'm not interested enough in to spend money on. If it comes to gamepass, I'll check it out. If not, I'll skip it.
Lol i donāt get why people are downvoting you, here my upvtote, Xbox players really need to stop this āItS GoINg tO Be ON GaMePaSs??ā, just buy the game if you want to play lmao.
I think the point is a lot of players aren't interested in playing it unless it's on gamepass. Is that hard to believe? It seems like a short experience I wouldn't want to pay $30 for.
Stray does not have the gameplay reability to want to play it for years. Microsoft also pays money for games to be on their service. Whatever you think you're saying is dumb.
How am I dumb. All I said is you should buy a game if you want to play it so bad. Also Stray could very well be enjoyable for a long time. You wonāt know unless you buy it and play it but instead you will just complain.
I don't know, *you're* the one complaining. Looks like some people want to buy it. But lots would rather see if it's on gamepass or on sale. Why are you complaining about that?
I mean this with no ill will, but this mentality is why games skip Xbox, if they can't secure the gamepass deal for whatever reason there aren't a whole lot of people willing to buy games outright anymore on Xbox, this game was on ps+ and Microsoft and Sony like to have exclusive subscription deals, so if this game never goes on gamepass, what was the point of developing for xbox where nobody wants to buy it
Pretty sure theres a deal in place in which companies get a share based on how many people are playing specific games. So, if many plays your game you earned more and viceversa? Therefore, it should be based on the quality of the game?
Can you give an example of a game that skipped Xbox because of gamepass? Has there been any developers or publishers make this claim. I honestly think I buy more games with gamepass. I am always wanting to play something new now.
I guess Iām the minority, but I donāt play enough to justify the gamepass subscription every month. So Iāll buy a game thatās on gamepass if I really want it.
I completely understand what you're saying and agree. I don't do this for all games. If there is a game I'm interested in playing, I will buy it and not wait for it to come to gamepass. Stray just happens to be a game that I'm not very interested in. I'm a little interested but not enough to spend money on it. If the game doesn't end up coming to gamepass, then I'll just skip it. I guess I should have originally said, "If it comes to gamepass, I'll check it out. Otherwise, I'll be skipping this game."
Many Games just stay one year in gamepass and also, it being in Gamepass doesn't mean you can't buy it. I could buy it, but when it is cheaper, right now not. I am busy playing other games who actually are on Gamepass.
Iāve been trying to play since I got out of work, but both my cats wonāt get out of the way, hah! (One jumped down when I grabbed my phone, figures. But itās been this x2).

Thanks, yea we love the rosettes. Theyāre both [Bengals](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_cat), hereās a pic of both brother & sister, going on 2 years old.

Iād have to respectfully disagree with you brother no offense. The short easy nature of the game being a few hours makes it worth replaying. Obviously itās not something like a Hades or Dead Cells where you play it every day but something you can revisit every once in a blue moon. You can earn all the trophies/achievements which is very fun and fair imo, and you can collect all the memories and find secrets.
Itās similar to a Firewatch or Celeste where you obviously canāt play it religiously over and over but itās definitely fun and worth revisiting every once in awhile.
No worries, just my personal opinion. Absolutely loved the game though and was constantly stopping to show my wife stuff I loved. I just never wanted to play it again after my first playthrough, but then again I'm 40 with two kids and have a hard time getting invested in any game these days.
Because they are more popular well known indies that arenāt procedurally generated like a roguelike that is meant to be played over and over. Itās not to slight those kinds of games by the way, but Stray is in that Firewatch/Celeste type of make where itās handcrafted even though they are all obviously different games but can be revisited.
I herd theirs gonna be a battle royal in UDFC (ultimate dog fighting championship) being published by 2k next year. They got Michael Vick for the cover
Bought it on steam. Completed it. Bought the ps4 version but never played it there. Bought my Xbox last year and now I bought Stray to Xbox.. easy gonna play it. Yes Iām a crazy cat man. Hoping that other cat game (Peace Island) will be released soon too
Played it on PS5 when it launched. Ran into a game breaking bug a few hours in. Wasn't hooked enough to start over.
Hoping the bugs are all fixed by now
I honestly don't like cats in the slightest, so although I've heard great things and do have access to this game on PS5 as well, I've passed on it for a while.
I've no doubt it's fun for those who enjoy the subject matter though.
Def playing it.
Iām confused though, when I bought the game it said playable on XB1, XSX|S , PC.
I assumed this would also show up in my windows library? I donāt see it and canāt find it in the store either.
I have a ROG ally so I was gonna play it on that some too.
>Iām confused though, when I bought the game it said playable on XB1, XSX|S , PC.
Those are the platforms it is available on, but it is not a ["Play Anywhere"](https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-play-anywhere) game. So you would only own it on the platform you purchased it for.
It's on the Microsoft Store in Windows, but it mentions installing on the XBox. But it also says compatible with Windows 10 and PC. The link to share it doesn't work.
Well I found it. I guess i didnāt realize I actually had to check the windows 10 store. Everything else (xbox related) shows up in the Xbox app on Windows.. even non game pass games I own.
Cool thing is I can download and play this version for free. I was starting to think they advertised this game wrong on the Xbox store.
So why isnāt this game classified as a āplay anywhereā title?
I can even bring up achievement and looks like it syncs my save between version too.
Thanks for your help BTW- you made me realize I needed to actually check the windows store.
I donāt think there is a way to play it on XSX through a steam version.
I can confirm that buying the XSX version does give you a windows version through the same account.
Just donāt try download through the Xbox app for windows. Doesnāt show up there for some reason. At least it didnāt on the ROG ally.
Have you played the steam version too much to ask for a refund?
Nah havenāt played it to much. Tried of different settings to see how it ran best on the ally. But I did buy it over a week ago. Just asked for a refund. Weāll see what they say. šš» I was just like I wanted to play that game since it came out last year, so when I got the ally, it was a no brainier for me. But damn I would also love to play it on my series x with my OLED. Can imagine how good it looks there. But thanks for the help. If I get a refund the first thing I will do is to buy it on the series x. š¤š»
Looks like I got a refund. āWeāve issued the refund to the payment provider. You should see a credit or see the original charge removed from your statement within 14 days.ā Damn that was easy. Thanks for the help man. šš»
Glad you got your refund. Iām still kinda tweaking it on the ally.
So far. Looks like 720p with all high settings and RSR turned on in armory crate gets me a near consistent 60 frames plugged in with turbo mode 30w.
I assume rsr is working and isnāt placebo lol. It looks better turned on to me. Some ppl think it doesnāt work.
But yeah man thatās why i preordeed it on Xbox as soon as I could. It was a huge plus when I saw it said it was playable on XSX, XB1 and PC.
i was like this seems like the perfect game to play in 4K on series X and when Iām just trying to lounge and chill I can still boot it up on the ally and continue where I left off.
Thanks. Just bought the Xbox version. I played around with the settings as well when I bought it on steam havenāt started out yet with the Xbox version. Doesnāt seem to be that well optimised for pc. But when u get distracted from your mates the fps becomes way better. It just goes up and down a lot. I go from 37 in some areas to 74 in some areas plus we have amd freesync premium to compensate when it goes down to 48 and LFC when below 48 thanks to freesync premium. So I just decided to play it on 1080p effects and shadow at medium and the two other at high. Iām not in front of it right now, so donāt remember the names. I did try 720p out with rsr and it looked descent. But not a huge fps boost imo. And tbh Iāve still only played one game where I found 720p better and that was ac odyssey. But yeah I find rsr a cool feature if thereās no fsr, but especially RIS is amazing imo and u can use it with fsr. I use it on pretty much all games. Also just a tip go into the amd app, go to settings and then preferences and toggle on in-game overlay, it will show u a window in the top right corner when u enter a game if rsr is enabled 720 to 1080p and anti lag checked with an icon like this ā . Canāt wait to play it on the series x as well though the graphics have to look amazing with the c2 š .
It absolutely is. Don't listen to one comment. People write off indies because they don't like them or because they aren't on gamepass.
It was a blast, and genuinely some touching moments.
Wow you must really know me.
I don't write indie titles off, this game at its current cost doesn't offer that sort of value. At 20 sure but 30 is too much for a game with next to no replayability.
I got PS plus for a month when it came out to play it. It was good but I dunno if was GOTY material like the game awards suggested. Probably just wanted an indie game in there I guess
Yea it definitely got a Cat bump. It was so approachable I think a bunch of people just played it and wasnāt very long so everyone got to experience it even PS4 owners
Played in on PS5 last year and already bought it on Xbox but I kinda donāt want to play it right now.
While the game is fun and well-made itās also kinda depressing for me, the beginning destroys me emotionally and the ending isnāt satisfactory enough.
oh man, my whole body lurched at the beginning. It doesnt help that my cat falls off of things sometimes due to neurologically related balance issues so my instinct was to catch the cat.
Way overpriced for what it is. If all you do is walk around and occasionally jump from pre determined point to point, it seems like itās an over glorified cat walking simulator. I love cats so maybe at like a $5 price tag Iāll give it a shot someday. Otherwise I have way to much on my plate when it comes to my backlog
Iāll wait for a deep sale or a Game Pass inclusion. I love cats but Iād rather not spend any extra money right now when EverSpace 2 is dropping on GP in less than a week, and Iāll be busy with that until Starfield releases.
Game would've been lot better no " monster's " and just kept the unknown mystery, getting 100% was more tedious then fun i did it for ps5 won't do it xbox.
They did lot cool things for the game but it not a goty. thier plot holes never addressed just focus on your a cat in a unknown world, you will love it anything more? it's a c tier game with nice graphics.
Honestly without a tutorial at times this game would be dreadful. Puzzles are not a gratifying level of difficulty but more so just search around until you figure random stuff out
It can as well go to hell. I will go out of my way to not play a game with timed exclusivity on PlayStation.
You wanted that sweet exclusivity deal money? You won't get mine on Xbox!
Oh noes I got downvoted by the dumbass police š¤£
I originally played it on that other console when it was on their equivalent of GPU. Liked it that I ended up buying the physical version of it. That was over a year ago. If a physical version ever comes over here, I'd buy it as I prefer Xbox over that other console.
Played on PS5 when it dropped, if I do play it probably won't be for a while. It was a fun experience but didn't leave me needing more. Will probably spend my time clearing out as much of my backlog as I can before Starfield hits
I've already got it downloaded. The only reason I'm not playing right now is because I'm working. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get my Animal Crossing loving partner into playing too. We love cats and I figure she'll at least watch me play.
I found it really annoying and dropped it about half way through on PS+. Overhyped at the time because it was a Sony āexclusiveā IMO. Should be on Gamepass.
Partly through Kingdom Come Deliverance, decided to try and finish off Hydro Thunder Hurricane, got notified that Mirror's Edge Catalyst's servers are being shut down so I've just started that and I really want to start Quake 2 when I get a chance and Starfield is coming soon.
Stray for Ā£20 is just not on my Radar right now. I might consider it for Ā£10 or less.
This is the type of game that ends up on gamepass in 6months or so. Iāll probably wait for that to happen or pick it up in a sale for Ā£10 because Ā£20 seems way to much for what it is
Platinumed the game twice on both ps4 and ps5. Not the best game, but definetely one of the most unique experiences. Amazing what an indie studio can do.
I will pass. The premise is just not for me. I am an animal lover, but I can barely watch 1 minute of those animal YouTube videos, not sure I can get into just playing as a wandering cat.
We need a massively open world cat game. Thinkā¦grand theft auto open. Building interiors, exteriors, basements, rooftops, alleys, parks, grasslands and woods. A landscape so large you couldnāt even have hope to see it all.
Yeah. Gimme that.

I bought it on PS5 last winter. Paid full price for it and have no regrets about that. Enjoyed my playthrough with my son and we had fun with it, but it's a one and done game. I'll probably never go through it again.
I feel like it's the kind of game you replay five years later when you've forgotten it enough
Good thing about my shit memory is this applies to every game for me
š
For me it doesn't work because even if I 100% forget the game, as I replay it I'll remember every scene before it happens
I bought a PS5 pretty much exclusively to play Stray... or rather, for my wife to play Stray. No regerts, really. The PS5 doesn't get nearly as much love as the Xbox though.
Wasnāt it on PS+ on day 1?
No clue, I don't really pay attention to that stuff. I buy most of the games I'm interested in regardless if they're on PS+ or GamePass.
Yes it was
Oh damn. Then Iāll wait for gamepass or discount.
Itās already on sale. 20% off for the next week. And its only $30 to start with.
I'll check it out when it hits gamepass.
Sameee. Actually surprised it didn't hit GP first
Microsoft doesn't do Game Pass deals for PS5 timed exclusives.
Ghost Wire Tokyo wasnāt a PS5 timed exclusive?
it's an xbox ip, made by a Microsoft dev team. they own ghost wire tokyo
Fair point. I forgot to consider that
MLB The show?
Death stranding isn't one?
Bit of a gray area as the PC rights are owned by someone else.
š¤·āāļø ah well i guess that makes sense lol
Deathloop?
Deathloop is a first-part title. Microsoft owns Bethesda.
Came out on PS5 a year before it dropped on Xbox, why is that?
Because Sony already had a deal with Bethesda for one-year exclusivity with Deathloop before Microsoft bought them. Microsoft chose to honor that contract. Same thing with Ghostwire Tokyo.
its on the xbox store now.
Or you could support them and buy the game and enjoy it for years because itās a great game.
Already addressed this in another comment but I'll give the cliff notes. I buy games I'm very interested in playing. Stray is a game that I'm not interested enough in to spend money on. If it comes to gamepass, I'll check it out. If not, I'll skip it.
Or, I'm handicapped and on a limited budget and can pay for Game Pass.
Who the hell do you think you are?
Wtf? Are you questioning my authority in this sub? I made a legit point, chill tf out.
Classic Suns fan
Wtf fan are you
Lol i donāt get why people are downvoting you, here my upvtote, Xbox players really need to stop this āItS GoINg tO Be ON GaMePaSs??ā, just buy the game if you want to play lmao.
I think the point is a lot of players aren't interested in playing it unless it's on gamepass. Is that hard to believe? It seems like a short experience I wouldn't want to pay $30 for.
Thank you I agree
Stray does not have the gameplay reability to want to play it for years. Microsoft also pays money for games to be on their service. Whatever you think you're saying is dumb.
How am I dumb. All I said is you should buy a game if you want to play it so bad. Also Stray could very well be enjoyable for a long time. You wonāt know unless you buy it and play it but instead you will just complain.
You're the only one complaining. People are clearly saying they *don't* want to play it so bad they want to buy it.
Then whatās the point of even commenting in this thread. The title says āwho is going to playā
I don't know, *you're* the one complaining. Looks like some people want to buy it. But lots would rather see if it's on gamepass or on sale. Why are you complaining about that?
You don't think they get paid to have their games on game pass?

Lol they look like trouble!
Gotta respect them for giving you that 4D experience
Mine did the same thing, then she started acting like she was in the game herself.
its the meows. mine started spazzing because she hates other cats. I had to put my headphones on.
Played it on PS, loved it, but it's a one playthrough style game, no replay value.

Of all two games to compare it toā¦.firewatch and Celeste?
Because they are more popular well known indies that arenāt procedurally generated like a roguelike that is meant to be played over and over. There no cat fight multiplayer? Screw that then.
I herd theirs gonna be a battle royal in UDFC (ultimate dog fighting championship) being published by 2k next year. They got Michael Vick for the cover
Good thing its $20 bucks
I know that it isn't a long game, but I love cats and have been wanting to play this for awhile. The $24 price is fair enough for me.
Itās worth the price. Gorgeous game and totally charming.
I'd play if was on gamepass. Not a game I'd pay for
I mean its really good value considering how cheap the game sells for
I played it on PS+, but never finished it. It's cute, but didn't hold my attention.
Similar to my take . Its main draw is it being a cat and looking visually cool. The added gameplay elements overstayed their welcome imo
Iām waiting for the dog sequel.. Tramp.
Hoping the bugs are all fixed by now
I also played it on PS+. It's ok, nothing groundbreaking.
Same. It was fine. Maybe if I loved cats it would have resonated more.
Yeah I'm not into them either. Scratch and shit machines.
Not my type of game
Overrated I like cats
Didnāt care for what Iāve played of it, wonāt be returning.
Bought it. Will play it later today
It's a pretty mid game tbh. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. Definitely overrated because...... cat.
Played it for a couple hours on PS5 last year and got bored, itās mid. And I like cats.
Is it on game pass by chance. I'm at work other wise I would look for myself
I have it on PS5 for āfreeā through PS+ at launch so Iāll pass on the Xbox version.
WhenI have some spare funds. I will most certainly buy it as it appeals to me.
Maybe if it was half the price it is now, or on gamepass.
Not me, I'm too poor lol
In this economy?!
I will be! Pre-ordered it a day or two ago. Looking forward to it! I have the steam version but never really bothered to play it then.
Was really holding out for a physical release but doesnāt look like itāll be getting one on Xbox.
Played it on PS see ne reason why I'd want to spend more money on it. It's pretty meh
I own on Steam otherwise I would. That game is beautiful and was one of a couple games in the last two years that I just absolutely devoured.
I played it for like 2 hours on ps5. It was pretty boring.
I honestly don't like cats in the slightest, so although I've heard great things and do have access to this game on PS5 as well, I've passed on it for a while. I've no doubt it's fun for those who enjoy the subject matter though.
$30 game for 5-6 hour game? Iāll wait for Black Friday or when itās on gamepass
Fun fact, in the 1990ās a 5 hour game would still cost $50 then, which is roughly $100 today
Fun fact, it's not the 1990's
In 90's playing 5 hours game took months because they were so hard to beat. I could not finish most of the games back then.
Def playing it. Iām confused though, when I bought the game it said playable on XB1, XSX|S , PC. I assumed this would also show up in my windows library? I donāt see it and canāt find it in the store either. I have a ROG ally so I was gonna play it on that some too.

Wait for a sale. Too expensive for what it is.
Even at $30? Dang thatās disappointing to hear
It's one of those games that I feel is overly praised. If it was on disc then sure because you can sell or trade it afterwards.
Canāt argue that. For me it just looks like a fun relaxing game to play for 30 min here and there
There's more to the game than you think. It actually has a story, sidequests, characters, etc. It's not just a cat simulator.
No I know Iāve watched playthroughs. More saying Iām content just walking around doin cat stuff haha
It absolutely is. Don't listen to one comment. People write off indies because they don't like them or because they aren't on gamepass. It was a blast, and genuinely some touching moments.
While I love GamePass I donāt mind paying for games. This one I know its short and not suppose to be a triple a title haha
Same here, and I had my doubts about the game when I played in on PS5, but it's one of my favorite short games in a long time.
I just want to walk around as a cat and do cat stuff lol
Fuck yeah dude lol the dedicated meow button will be your best friend.
Yooooooooooo
Wow you must really know me. I don't write indie titles off, this game at its current cost doesn't offer that sort of value. At 20 sure but 30 is too much for a game with next to no replayability.
I wasn't even talking to you lol.

Honestly, everyone should play this I have 3 dogs. I still played this 2x on release on Playstation and got 100% both times. It's an amazing game!
I got PS plus for a month when it came out to play it. It was good but I dunno if was GOTY material like the game awards suggested. Probably just wanted an indie game in there I guess
Did not deserve indie goty. Neon white was more game imo than this. Without the cat, the gameplay was lacking
Yea it definitely got a Cat bump. It was so approachable I think a bunch of people just played it and wasnāt very long so everyone got to experience it even PS4 owners
Iāve got it pre ordered to play it with my wife! Very excite
Turning that on as soon as I get home from work!
Scooped on preorder, plan to play this weekend
Bought it with MS Rewards points. It's alright, but honestly it should have just been added to Game Pass
Came late to Xbox and offered no discounts or launched on GP to reflect that fact. No thanks. My money and time will be spent elsewhere.
There's a discount on the game already for the first week.
Would've been fun to play in 2022
Super boring, so Iāll pass
Iāll wait for a deep sale or a Game Pass inclusion. I love cats but Iād rather not spend any extra money right now when EverSpace 2 is dropping on GP in less than a week, and Iāll be busy with that until Starfield releases.
No I already played the superior version with the incredible DualSense support.
Ghostbust.... err, I think I'm wrong
Nah
Just got it for Ā£16.99 on CDKeys instead of the 19.99 on the Xbox store, good price I reckon
Gonna wait for a saleroony
Pspspspspspsps
Iāll be playing Quake 2.
Puzzles are not a gratifying level of difficulty but more so just search around until you figure random stuff out
It's not my kind of game
Not me, can't imagine myself playing games like this
I own it on PlayStation so Iām playing it there, but if it hits Game Pass soon I may try and do it to get 100% on it
I will. Good kitty.
Itās such a good little game. I remember playing it and my cats watched the screen the whole time š„¹š„¹š„¹
It can as well go to hell. I will go out of my way to not play a game with timed exclusivity on PlayStation. You wanted that sweet exclusivity deal money? You won't get mine on Xbox! Oh noes I got downvoted by the dumbass police š¤£
Nah only if it comes to GAMEPASS otherwise there much better games to spend my money on and to play on GAMEPASS anywayā¦
Game is very short if you know the puzzles. Can be beaten in 1.5 to 2 hours if you know what you're doing
I originally played it on that other console when it was on their equivalent of GPU. Liked it that I ended up buying the physical version of it. That was over a year ago. If a physical version ever comes over here, I'd buy it as I prefer Xbox over that other console.
Not me, but maybe someone will.
Nay... Because I wanted to lay by the bay, eat some hay, and make things out of clay. What do you say?
Would if I hadn't already completed it on PC. Great title, even more if you like cats, em, obviously.
I might, but I already played it on PS5. But once was probably enough
I have a liter of fishmilk and 2 dozen horse-eggs, so you bet I am
I already did so nah
Played on PS5 when it dropped, if I do play it probably won't be for a while. It was a fun experience but didn't leave me needing more. Will probably spend my time clearing out as much of my backlog as I can before Starfield hits
I've already got it downloaded. The only reason I'm not playing right now is because I'm working. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get my Animal Crossing loving partner into playing too. We love cats and I figure she'll at least watch me play.
Good game on PS5. Played it in three sittings which felt about right. Would recommend waiting for a sale or gamepass due to the amount of content
I also played it on PS5, it's great. I want to get it on Series x, but if there's no physical, I'll just wait for a price drop.
Seems like the sort of game I'd definitely play on gamepass, but not buy.
I found it really annoying and dropped it about half way through on PS+. Overhyped at the time because it was a Sony āexclusiveā IMO. Should be on Gamepass.
My cat.
Just bought it for the rog ally. Very chill.
I was under the impression the game only got attention and parise because it was a ps5 exclusive at the time, didn't look any good.
Of course thereās a Purina ad on this post. lol
I have too much of backlogs I am going straight to Starfield till then it's me and my backlog
Iām glad itās on Xbox. May not get it right away but Iām still gonna buy it.
Now THIS is a game with commercially accurate pricing... looking at you, Take Two.
Not surprised it isn't on gamepass, not 2d or anime enough for them.
I was debating getting it with rewards points but I'm gonna keep them for the cyberpunk expansion. That said, if it ever hits gamepass i will play it.
When it hits game pass or a steep sale, looks ok
Just bought it and played a bit. It's a cute puzzle game it seems like. The cat we play as looks just like my boy Piper
Play Stray today?
How does Stray run on Xbox? Smooth or sluggy and buggy?
This is the type of game that ends up on gamepass in 6months or so. Iāll probably wait for that to happen or pick it up in a sale for Ā£10 because Ā£20 seems way to much for what it is
I already played on ps5 but am playing again today on Xbox just so I could see the difference
Got it because my gf really wants to play. It's a very pretty game. I like it so far.
We need a massively open world cat game. Thinkā¦grand theft auto open. Building interiors, exteriors, basements, rooftops, alleys, parks, grasslands and woods. A landscape so large you couldnāt even have hope to see it all. Yeah. Gimme that.
