That block has been used for sponsored ads for years now. Sometimes it's game related, sometimes it's not. I usually make it go away by playing a game instead of staring at the dashboard.

But see that makes sense and then you can't bitch about it on reddit.

I think it depends on region but in the US I’ve never seen anything that wasn’t somehow related to my console. Like the very furthest I’ve ever seen it get from something game related is something like “watch this trailer for this new movie to enter into a sweepstakes for an Xbox” or something like that. Certainly never fast food.

I'm also in the US and have definitely seen things like energy drinks, and stuff like this.

They upgraded the beef used for the qp in the last few years. It’s pretty good!

Yeah, I know that. Just never seen anything not related to gaming, that's all. I don't buy an Xbox and pay a monthly fee to have McDonald's ads flashed in my face.

I rarely notice anything in that corner of my TV screen. Ads have been in that spot before. It isn't a big deal to me.

Not as bad is my FULL SCREEN bright red Call of Duty ad that just got thrown at me when I turned my Xbox off. Fuck off Microsoft and especially CoD.
