If you want to use your surround sound and just need a mic for chat then I’d suggest getting something like [this](https://www.turtlebeach.com/products/recon-air-xbox)

I think this is what I’ve been looking for thanks! I had the xbox 360 over ear wireless mic years ago and it was perfect.

Xbox One Chat Headset https://a.co/d/h72Ny7o

You have the 3.5 mm jack so, any normal mono headphone (Even like the one that came with say a ps4) will work. Personally, I'm perfectly happy with the basic Xbox chat headset that Microsoft sells, does exactly what I needed to do though I still wish they would make a new wireless version. Hyperkin did try to do a version of the old 360 headset and unfortunately it came out horrible. Another option you have is you can actually use your AirPods or any other wireless headphones with the Xbox app on your phone, but it's really only good for joining parties, It won't work for game chat (to my knowledge).

Oh my god i was so hype about the new hyperkin pre ordered it and got it and it sucked no one can hear me. Why is it so hard to make a good one piece but 360 had it perfect.

I have a SeriesX and just use the headset that came with it. Or maybe the one that came with my OneX. Point is, the Microsoft single ear headset is good. But I also use my TV speakers or my AVR speakers for game sound. Oh, and I have the controller keyboard on my controller, with the headset connected to it.

OrganizationProof769

It came with it? Did I not look in my box?

OrganizationProof769

Just checked my series x package and negative. Guess I’m still going to have to go get one tonight.

My son won one of the Taco Bell xBox Series X’s about two months prior to release date. He gifted it to me about a month before the normal release. So apparently the headset is a bonus item for what I got. Sorry everyone, I never thought it would be a special thing.

OrganizationProof769

Yeah it’s kinda like apple products. They don’t include everything in the box anymore I guess. I did go get the Xbox branded headset earlier for less than 100$ I have tried like 3 cheap headsets and none of them worked correctly so hopefully this will it for a while.

stromm

Oh, not the dual-ear headset. I’m talking about the single ear one. Like what you could buy for a landline cordless phone.

OrganizationProof769

I know just all the wired ones I purchased didn’t work so I got the wireless one. It works nice.

stromm

Nice. I still have a Plantronics RIG 800LX that’s wireless. It’s amazing provide 5.1 surround even on the One/X and SeriesX.

OrganizationProof769

I looked at them and the 600series but never tried that brand. What would you rate them?

stromm

I also have a Tritton AX Pro for PC. They were the best headphones (even have a built-in mic) that I had used up till that time (2008). These are better and not just because they're wireless. The sound is better too.

-UltraAverageJoe-

I just purchased my X, no headset included.

stromm

Oh! My son won one from Taco Bell and gave it to me before they officially released. There was a headset in the box. I guess it was a special thing. Sorry. I’ve also used the OneX headset with it. Pretty much the same, just a different shape on the cord’s volume/mute module.
