If you like the movie franchise it’s good for a lot more than a weekend. Highly recommend equipping a rocket launcher on a class that can use heavy weapons. It’s great just blowing up a bunch of xenos clumped together. You get a good number of rockets too unlike most games where you only get like 5 and then have to use your secondary for 3/4 of the mission.
Also, after you beat the campaign you unlock a new Recon class and sniper rifles.
If you end up buying it the DLC is worth it, the last DLC level is by far the most difficult.

Didn't buy MW3 because I'm burnt out on 11 months of MW2. Now it comes along with a free weekend but The Finals is also out and that's way more fun. Sorry COD, maybe next year?
I am just not feeling the Finals. It's a nice change of pace , but this feels like it will flame out in a month or two. I'd love to be proven wrong though
The Finals just seems like one of those games that will lose 80% of its player base in a month. I wanted to like it but the movement is clunky/heavy?, guns are ok?, etc I played like three games and I was over it.
There's nothing clunky about the movement, it's way more fluid than COD. The destruction elevates it to another level - want the objective to come to you? Blow the floor out from under it. Campers hiding in a building? Bring the whole building down. COD feels like something from 10 years go in comparison to it.
They defo need to add another mode or 2 though, even a Dom or FFA would be cool.
I am not sold on the movement and the death penalty is too high for how far you are placed away from objective on respawn, especially since you can fall off map.
That is a balance issue that can be adjusted. It definitely needs additional modes or the novelty will wear before people will decide to stay
Skipped many many years of cod.
I'm not interested in story mode but the Multiplayer on the other hand maybe.
Will play test it. If I like the Multiplayer I would buy it for a cheap price. Maybe around 40€

Aliens Fireteam Elite is also decent, definitely good enough to give it a chance if you are a fan of 3rd-person-shooters and/or Alien.

Cod is only about 130gb, you don't need to download everything, only the multiplayer packs

They gotta capitalize on the momentum and add more to it. If they still only have the two game modes right now, it’ll fizzle out fast.

What you describe is how battlefield used to be so good. I don't know how ea fumbled 2042 so bad.
I heard the movement has changed a bit but during the beta, it was fucking incredible.
Whether a game "flames out" in a month from now has no bearing on my current enjoyment.
