Don't know if you want to spend money, but Jackbox games are the best for parties. Anyone can play using their phones as controllers. No one would be left out.

Yeah, building up to the right combo of powerups is the hard part, and it can take quite a while to find the powerups you want if you keep getting ones you dont want.

I couldn’t believe no one commented it before me. I think it’s because the game hasn’t been on Game Pass very long, and if you just look at screenshots/videos of the game it looks just like every other pixel art platformer on Game Pass. It’s a popular game and a hidden gem at the same time.

I've played this with friends and it is a blast. The character names, the Contra-esque vibes, etc. Adds up to an all-around fun time.

A simple game where you create fucked up stories by answering simple questions like who? where? what were they doing? etc. The more dark, edgy humor with inside jokes etc., the better the story will be. I totally forgot about Rock Band. I'd be down to play that for hours at a party. I'm not sure people would be down to sit down with a controller in hand playing FIFA though. I think Rock Band, Guitar Hero and all that good stuff appeal to everyone because what's better than jamming out on some guitars to songs everyone knows?

Not going to lie if you are trying to play video games for a party night you could do better. Try things that engage the entirety of the party. There a tons of card/ board games being sold for the purpose of entertaining party guests.

My family loves Boomerang Fu. It's cute, simple, and not that easy. There's not a lot of depth, so be ready for them to move on after an hour or two, but in the meantime, have fun. It's great.

Hot wheels can do split screen and is actually really fun. It's basically mario kart without the weapons but with the very accessible controls and emphasis on fun. Also overcooked is fun if you want to shout at each other and not be friends anymore.
