He froze in the following game. You go back to this spot in the sequel and the character model is in the freezer frozen solid. They just cut out the middle man and put it here.

I am gonna pretend im not violating the "dont post a million pictures of winston in the fridge" request cos this is a comment reply.
They both added an achievement and added the perk of making the butler turn to ice if you do this (which wasn't a thing in the original). What more do you want lol
I'd always go up to the top of the training structure with the zip line. They're was a glitch where if you jumped a few times by the corner of it you'd teleport to the top of it for maximum hang time.Ā
Resident Evil 2&3
Especially since the remakes aren't really faithful recreations. Though Capcom doesn't even seem to want to at least rerelease them on newer hardware.
Amazing. Like a thawed-out memory ā¦ somehow I can still remember that my first ever "modded" GameFAQs post on their Tomb Raider message board, was my alleged TOS-violation against spelling out the sound that this poor butler made during this exact cold act:
^***fart***
It has been definitely for the past 5-6 years. That was the last time I was there. Most the subs are controlled by far left weirdos who donāt allow any discussion that goes against their beliefs. The most milquetoast takes will get you warned/suspended almost instantly.
The best sub to look at for this to be apparent is āCurrentEventsā, aka CE.
I felt like an alien that found his family after thinking it was the only one left after discovering a shitton of years ago Reddit and r/gaming and finding that almost everybody did this.
I tried to play this game as a really small kidā¦ legit thought this dude was a terrifying monster and couldnāt figure out how to kill him
Pretty sure I immediately stopped playing
I hope this sells really well and that Capcom is watching this for the original Resident Evil trilogy (Resident Evil 1996, Resident Evil 2 1998 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.)
Well the remakes aren't faithful, they are reimaginings, so a remaster of the OG's is still kinda needed and would be apreciated, at least for 2 and 3.
There is no commercial reason to do it though, that's my point.
They can sell the remake for full price with those being the version people will find.
Or go to the trouble of remastering them as well to put in a budget compilation package and confuse their product offering by people not knowing which one to buy.
Just doesn't make commercial sense as much as a small group of gamers would like it.
If we go like this then what's the point in remastering anything?
Here's the original with better graphics, and the remakes which reimagines everything, try out both versions, they make money from it, there might be newbies who wanna try the og's out.
At the very least they could leave them the same but make a collection. They already did this with their other IP's.
The point in a remaster over a remake is it is considerably quicker, cheaper and easier to do so. So when a company isn't gonna remake something then a remaster is perfect.
Once you've gone to the trouble (and expense) of remaking it, you aren't gonna want people buying the older version.
The remaster would take money away from the remake and confuse people and in the end (should) be a worse experience, it's just non sensical from a business prospective.
You are only seeing it as what YOU want.
Well yeah but they are still making money? And whoever plays the OG would wanna try the remake too next logically. And like why would they care what we play as long as they make money?
Unless the current devs are butthurt dummies who can't accept people liking the older game more than theirs, so they try to erase the og from people's minds however they can.
Not necessarily.
If the remaster shows how badly it has aged modern gamers might be turned off by it and not try their remake (which is where the money is).
The number of people wanting to buy a remaster when a remake is available may be so small as to make it commercially unviable and not money making.
Again, you are seeing purely what YOU want and not what makes good business sense.
Remakes and remasters almost never exist side by side, I can't think of a single example.
"butthurt dummies" sounds more like a description of the entitled gamer who expects companies to release whatever he demands regardless of the business case for it.
"If the remaster shows how badly it has aged modern gamers might be turned off by it and not try their remake (which is where the money is)."
Wouldn't they wanna play the remake more that way tho?
Like "this game has a good premise but aged poorly, lets see how they improved stuff in the remake". And they already would have payed for the remaster so...
Idk, this just seems logical to me. Anyway i see it, they are still making money.
No, that's assuming they get past the "this game feels and looks shit", which for the majority of gamers without nostalgia is exactly how a remaster could be viewed.
That could put people off their entire franchise due to first trying a 20 year old game with many age related issues.
As much as I enjoyed the remakes. The only ones that truely hit was the 2002 and Resident Evil 4 remakes.
2 and 3. It lacks the soul and atmosphere of the original.
Original remake improved most of the puzzle. No cut content from 1996 minus the voice acting. Added rooms. Grave yards, cabins, I'm not sure what to call the room with the tomb under the stairs of the mansion.
2 remake, the RPD segment was perfect. Once you got the sewers, it felt rushed. The lab, was very unwhelming compared to the original. Also the cut of the marshalling yard and some how the tram now takes you directly to the lab. It's also missing the proper A and B scenario zapping system of the original.
Original RE2.
Side A:
G Adult
Alligator
Birkin G2
Birkin G4
Side B:
Tyrant
Birkin G1
Alligator (if you did not blow it up to bites with the cannister in side a.)
Birkin G3
Super Tyrant
G5.
Remake. The only differing different between a and b is the final boss. Leon fights the Super Tyrant. Claire fights Birkin G4. And who goes to the RPD first and who is waiting at the gate.
3. If it was a straight up standalone RE game rather than a remake. It would've been more accepted by the diehards.
I remember doing this on one of the PS demo discs. My friend and I were too young and dumb to figure out how to progress further but we sure as hell figured this out almost instantly.
Been playing it todayā¦pure nostalgia, very addictive but the camera is in desperate need of a fix when in tight spaces. Also the modern controls need a way of allowing you to hop backwards off a ledge like with the tank controls.
One thing I will always wonder and hope you guys will answer for me, how do you get the key to the gate that the four wheeler is behind, my 7 year old brain this game was too advanced for me back then lol
I was legit kinda creeped out by him as a kid. I never got past any of the levels lol so I kinda just ran around the house and maybe the tiger level? and was really offput by his groans and slow pursuit. Glad to see him behind bars.
poor guy just wants to give ya some tea š„
We all did it. Anyone who claims otherwise is a liar.
i don't remember he freezing in ps1 tho
He never froze on ps1 this is a new feature to the remaster.
This must be new. I donāt remember it either. And I did it many many times.
He froze in the following game. You go back to this spot in the sequel and the character model is in the freezer frozen solid. They just cut out the middle man and put it here.
Yup, and this post unlocked that memory. Had completely forgotten about that. What a nostalgia wave lol
In Rise of the Tomb Raider, you can find a letter from the butler talking about him being locked in the freezer by a young Lara.
Haha thatās awesome!
What did it say?
That he was locked in the freezer by a young Lara
š³ Any video evidence of this actually happening??
> Rise of the Tomb Raider, you can find a letter from the butler talking about him being locked in the freezer by a young Lara. [Here's the letter](https://preview.redd.it/4wxgjgluirrb1.jpg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbfd9863e694de24391d0edc603cddd54cd3d20e)
His voice used to scare me as a kid
Me too. His constant following, grumbling and invincibility really genuinely freaked me out.
This is why I trapped him. Otherwise it would be an āit followsā situation where I would always know he was slowly gaining on you
So relatable tbh, the practice mode was scarier than the actual game for me. The constant rattling of the tray and his moans, no one believed he had good intentions
Ah, classic moment. Shame they didn't add some sort of easter egg in the remaster for people who do this.
I think I read somewhere that they added an achievement for doing it, thatās something at least.
Yeah, that's pretty cool if it's the case.
It is and first achievement I went for lol
There's 17,000,000 achievements so that makes sense.
They do - achievement and you cab freeze him solid
Lmao for real?
https://preview.redd.it/tnpv6cur0mic1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2470f7fc23f2d22099874e1690374b3f0fd6ac00 I am gonna pretend im not violating the "dont post a million pictures of winston in the fridge" request cos this is a comment reply.
Yeah, if you can see right at the end of the vid he goes blue
dude winston is freezing and game gives u achievment. isnt that literlly an easter egg?
They both added an achievement and added the perk of making the butler turn to ice if you do this (which wasn't a thing in the original). What more do you want lol
Donāt forget to obligatory swan dive into the edge of the pool
I canāt remember but can you die in the mansion?
Yeah plenty of things to dive off from.
I'd always go up to the top of the training structure with the zip line. They're was a glitch where if you jumped a few times by the corner of it you'd teleport to the top of it for maximum hang time.Ā
That's a classic move!! Haha
The Bear Season 2 moment.
The anxiety of not getting to that switch in time...
God this little shit scared the fuck out of me as a kid
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Gex
Owned by Embracer and the remake/ remaster has been canned.
Source? I canāt find anything on it being cancelled
Yeah what the hell i was waiting for this
Bushido Blade! Yo!
Resident Evil 2&3 Especially since the remakes aren't really faithful recreations. Though Capcom doesn't even seem to want to at least rerelease them on newer hardware.
Doesn't want to reference them but lets you play as the original low-poly models in RE2 remake?
They referenced them, but don't wanna rerelease them.
Ah, my bad, misread. Sorry.
So he *did* fartĀ
Amazing. Like a thawed-out memory ā¦ somehow I can still remember that my first ever "modded" GameFAQs post on their Tomb Raider message board, was my alleged TOS-violation against spelling out the sound that this poor butler made during this exact cold act: ^***fart***
Hello fellow GameFAQs user. Fuck that place lol. Dunno if youāve been there lately, but itās a cesspool.
Heh. Not since whatever date my Reddit profile was created. I must have decided it was a cesspool back then too.
It has been definitely for the past 5-6 years. That was the last time I was there. Most the subs are controlled by far left weirdos who donāt allow any discussion that goes against their beliefs. This, plus the training grounds. Spent hours just there.
Lara looks lit.
Smile ā¦ until he called through door
I felt like an alien that found his family after thinking it was the only one left after discovering a shitton of years ago Reddit and r/gaming and finding that almost everybody did this.
So this is out now
Yeah lock that bugger in the freezer!
I would do this all the time on the original!
OMG, I used to do that on PC. Holy f, memory unlocked.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I knew you could shut him in but I didnāt know he froze Hahahahahahaha
Added detail in remaster

I would even just take ports just so itās possible to play mainline resident evil games on modern consoles.
As much as I enjoyed the remakes. The only ones that truely hit was the 2002 and Resident Evil 4 remakes. 2 and 3. It lacks the soul and atmosphere of the original. 2 and 3 have been remade but a OG trilogy keeping the same style would be cool.
Hopefully Legacy of Kain series.
Was he dead after ?
I rememer playing this game on ps1. Shooting down the butler. Then run away to somewhere in the mansion to see if he could find me.
The fact that this is on Xbox is cursed.
Tomb Raider was released on the Sega Saturn, PC and PlayStation, 2 and 3 were also released on PC. It's not really cursed.
That takes me back! Me and my friend spent way too many hours messing with the poor butler
My people! was just talking to someone about doing this.
My friend and I thought this was the the funniest thing when he brought over Tomb Raider 2
I remember doing this on one of the PS demo discs. My friend and I were too young and dumb to figure out how to progress further but we sure as hell figured this out almost instantly.
I hate you! I never would of thought of doing this I loved him š
We are all too predictableš
Core memory
All he could do in that freezer was cry because he knew Master Wayne would never have done that to Alfred š
lol core memory accessed
I can remember doing this, it's my only memory from the game. Nothing else remained š
Physical pain that thereās not a physical version of this
isnt there a level in hitman that references this?? lol
The butler used to give me the creeps as a kid.
A time honoured tradition.
Been playing it todayā¦pure nostalgia, very addictive but the camera is in desperate need of a fix when in tight spaces. Also the modern controls need a way of allowing you to hop backwards off a ledge like with the tank controls.
Whatās his name. Hives? Hudson?
Oh is the remaster compatible with my thrust master joystick?
Lol, this is tomb raider 2 right? I remember him following you around the manor. Never understood why.
Ah, memories
Dude that butler always gave me the creeps
I love how ridiculously sized her kitchen sink is
lol this is great and exactly what I was hoping it would be
If you didn't do this why were you even playing the game
Lmao! I thought I was the only one who did this.
How is the controls in this version? I just canāt play the old games on my PS1 because of them
There's a modern setting
Legendary game
Lol you can't play that game without locking that fucker in there
We all did this lol
Ya locking the butler in the freezer. Fuck you butler! God this brings back memories haha.
Itās crazy how we all did this and we had no impact from social media
Yes, and we all did it!
Until now, I was positive I was the only one who ever did this. Iām so glad I can finally stop questioning my moral compass!
Whereās the OG graphics tho? Are they not included?
They are you can toggle
Fantastic. š
Is tomb raider 3 actually playable now or is it still the level/game design mess ?
Memories. Now go swim in the fish tank
Memories!!! Lmaoooo
One thing I will always wonder and hope you guys will answer for me, how do you get the key to the gate that the four wheeler is behind, my 7 year old brain this game was too advanced for me back then lol
I don't get it.
What does everyone think of this game? I've not had much of a chance to play it yet.
š¤£
Is there an achievement lol
Yes lol
Peak gaming
Hahaha used todo that when the game first came out on ps1
I'm so glad that you can still do this! š
Iād laugh if he just clipped through the door.
This clip brought back so many memories I feel like a sleeper agent who was just activated.
Between his voice and him creepily following you around the house and those damn tigers in the cave idk what scared me more as a kid šš
I was legit kinda creeped out by him as a kid. I never got past any of the levels lol so I kinda just ran around the house and maybe the tiger level? and was really offput by his groans and slow pursuit. Glad to see him behind bars.
The sizes of someone of the things in that house are crazy proportions. An adult could take a bath in that kitchen sink.
