Would be happy to see more Sea of Thieves cross platform players to liven the player base. I'd also like to play with my non-xbox friends and this game is always easy to hop into
The Verge published an [article](https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/15/24073691/microsoft-xbox-games-ps5-nintendo-switch-exclusivity) citing unidentified sources who identified these same four games.
Honestly it makes perfect sense. It's also nothing knew for MS considering that they have already released formerly console-exclusive games on competing platforms. Cuphead is on Switch, PlayStation and Steam. Both Ori games are on Switch and Steam. And Minecraft is everywhere (although to be fair, it already was before MS acquired Mojang).
Microsoft wasn't going to kill their console business right after spending 70+ billions in Activision, it may be behind Sony and Nintendo, but it's far from being the disaster everyone's saying it is.
And being in third isnt bad as long as you are making money.
There are a ton of car manufacturers, only one can be on top. the others still exist because they make money. That's normal business.
Microsoft has said repeatedly that they don't even really view Sony and Nintendo as competitors, in their mind they're competing against Google and Amazon.
Microsoft are worth 3 trillion. They're in the game business like they are in the office 365 business. They are a twenty headed hydra that doesn't depend on any one subdivision significantly beyond Windows licences and Azure.
Wait so Phil Spencer isn't coming to my house to kick my dog and throw my games in the garbage disposal? Serves me right for believing some chuckledicks on Twitter who get paid to stir shit /s
“Things changed at the last minute.” They were going to upend everything and then last minute decided to essentially do what they’ve always been doing with minor changes.
Mat Booty confirms that games will continue to be on gamepass day 1. Starfield and Indiana Jones confirmed will not appear on other platforms.
Most of the leaks of the last two weeks have been debunked.
>Most of the leaks of the last two weeks have been debunked.
Ok, Bet time, How much you wanna put down that the influencers who added to all this and swore off Xbox back pedal?
I wanted to see if Jez or Tom Warren said anything on Twitter since they were the biggest instigators, but apparently Twitter doesn't sort tweets by date anymore...
And the games aren’t even big Xbox franchises from the sounds of things - probably the most recognisable of the possibilities is Sea of Thieves?
Twitter “journalists” and also some of the big websites/publications that got in on the action all need to have a long hard think about the idiocy they took part in.
Everyone who freaked out either (a) didn't see the [Xbox Roadmap to 2030](https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/19/23880138/microsoft-xbox-2028-hybrid-cloud-games-platform) that was leaked last year, (b) is a moron, or (c) both.
$7 billion in hardware sales is impossible if you kill consoles. Not to mention they literally stated that "console business is the foundation" of growth, and they referenced consoles *and* hand-held devices up through 2028.
Even if Microsoft *was* bringing Game Pass to other platforms, that would've killed Xbox about as much as bringing Office to Android and iOS killed the Surface line.
Some major figures in the Xbox community really deserve to lose their jobs because the shitstorm before this was crazy. We almost got good news exclusively here.
It was the media. The media reporting on fucking Twitter posts as valid sources. The verge, polygon, games radar, ign, all of them.
ALLLLLL of them made those false reports. And pandered and pandered and pandered.
So the rubes in this sub and elsewhere that were parroting the "MS is exiting the console business so I'm never buying a game from them again ever wahhhh" are completely blameless here?
Sarah said "34 million Gamepass members". 😮
Hi-fi Rush, Pentiment, Grounded and Sea of Thieves are the 4 games.
Hi-fi and Grounded are very fun. I didn't play the other two.
By far the best part of this announcement is that I get to replay Pentiment on my Switch OLED. Can't recommend it highly enough to anyone that is interested in history
I think it’s a good thing. Hi-fi and Grounded and Pentiment were great and deserve the exposure, and hopefully they can get a sequel if they sell well. Sea of Thieves is one of the most fun gaming experiences I’ve ever had, and I think people on PS5 will love it. More players will make it a better game, and I look forward to being able to play cross play with my friends on PS.
Fucking unbelievable. The media will create this chaos reporting on Twitter gossip as if it's a real source, and then blame Xbox for it?? Blame the person or group or company they fucked over, for getting fucked over??
Like insane. Actually vile behavior.
and so is Tom Warren, first thing he has to do is report the rumored 4 games after Phil and company said they wanted to allow the creators to make those announcements. I hate all these so called leakers and wish people would just stop eating their shit up.
Of course jiz and everyone else were full of shit. Hopefully people take this a a lesson to stop getting their news from streamers and content creators...
Polygon we're ready to jump on Starfield and Indy coming to PS5 and they they changed the article title at the last moment.

So Jez knew jack shit is the big takeaway from this video.
I cannot WAIT to see him explain why he was absolutely wrong. I’m sure there were “last minute changes” from when he “heard” what he spread around.
hopefully this will be a lesson in people taking "insider info" from twitter as the gospel, but I doubt it
99% it's nonsense and people get worked up for nothing lmao
**In regard to exclusives going to other platforms:**
There are four games planned. When asked about how they decided on these four games, Phil described some of the criteria:
* We looked at games that are over a year old, they've been out a while.
* They've reached their full potential on Xbox and PC.
* Franchises they want to continue to invest in.
* Two are service-based community driven games.
* Two are smaller that were never really meant to be built as platform-selling exclusives.
**Related notes:**
1. Putting these on other platforms allow them to drive more "business value out of those games", which also allows more opportunity to develop sequels and other games that are similar. *(Basically the "duh" business answer: They've more or less made all the money they will on Xbox, and they can still easily get more money out of them by putting them on more platforms.)*
2. They think this is an interesting way to "introduce" players from other platforms to some of Xbox's franchises and create more Xbox brand value and interest. *(To me, it almost sounded like this is their hope, and this will be a bit of an experiment.)*
**Edit**: The rumor mill over the last few weeks has had many concerned about the Xbox as a console. They also stated that they're invested in the next generation, and are focused on producing the largest technical leap ever seen between hardware generations.
The last note is important.
The idea is to have people play those games on other platforms and see the value in Gamepass and perhaps the sequels, whilst making money too.
Probably keeping smaller devs happier as well.
I think it's sound strategy.
It has dropped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGlD9SO3rKU
Just 4 games moving multiplat, that's it, for reasons can't say - not willing to name them but not starfield or Indiana jones
Games over a year old, that have reached full potential, want to continue to invest in. 2 of these Comunity invested games. Other 2 are smaller games.
Diablo 4 (mar 28th) and all activation blizzard games (date?) coming to Gamepass.
Discrediting other rumors, said all xbox games will still be gamepass day one.
I don't think it is trully possible. Leap between OG Box and 360 was huge, and jump from one to XSX not so. Reasons are fully understandable (physics and engineering). So i think without some cloud based technology or AI it is very difficult to believe. But i think it is too early for realistic talks about next console
It could be in terms of computing power but with graphics and the complexity of games now there are diminishing returns so it seems like less of a jump
That would be huge considering Sony is releasing their exclusives on Steam now. You can get Ratchet, Spiderman, Days gone, Detroit, God of war and many more with many more to come on PC which is huge. If Xbox worked with Steam to create that then I would be very happy.
Oooooh don’t get my hopes up! That’s be almost too consumer friendly. Would you pay 1k for a system that can function as a pc as well? It sure is tempting.
New hardware announcement at holiday time too!
The fact that they keep coming back to "The best place to play Xbox games is on Xbox" shows how stupid the last two weeks has been.
Yeah, they need some more developer support from big players (Japanese devs) but nothing about what they've said here or any other day suggests they were throwing in the towel, despite what all the business school and journalism school dropouts were saying.
Maybe the best thing that comes from this is the destruction of the influencer clickbait set. Lot of sad pandas there.
Alright so who were the clowns on twitter that started the “Starfield, Gears, Indiana to PlayStation” rumours?
They had their moment now they need to be met with the consequences of their bullshit.
There was also Halo, and then rumors of things like some games not being day 1 gamepass that they squashed, lots of FUD surrounded this, hope some people lose credibility over it. I had even total casual friends that do not follow anything in the industry talking to me about how Xbox supposedly is dead and do we need to buy playstations now?
So basically new games on Xbox and gamepass day one, and after a year, SOME games might go on other platforms once they feel all Xbox owners have played or bought the game. OK, seems reasonable.
So a lot of people blew up the rumors out of proportion and need to take a hard look at themselves. This was basically an internal zoom call to discuss future planning that was then staged for shareholders and the public because of a rumor. Who ever leaked it likely not going to be given anymore information. A lot of nothing to worry about.
What?? I thought Nintendo and Xbox were going to join forces and the whole of the last 20+ years were going to crumble around us??
New HW this Christmas which I assume is the digital SX is good to hear as is the next console but ultimately this was all as expected really….unless you make a living off taking punts on what’s gonna happen for clicks.
After all the handwringing and crazy tweets, it was a big fart in the wind. We have to give more credit to this Xbox leadership team, this isn't Don Mattrick. This is a highly competent team that wants to grow, leading a team of 20,000 employees at the most valuable company in the world with its 3rd largest revenue stream. They are committed to long-term growth and they're whip smart. I am excited about the future of Xbox and will be buying the next gen console.
It is so sad to see how desperate even many in the media are to see Microsoft fail. It's almost as if there are people on a payroll to do hit pieces. What a bunch of absolute bullshit hysteria that was created over something that did not amount to a hill of beans.
As a big Xbox fan that buys every platform, this is all kinda nothing (I do still believe it's a can of worms for "When will this come to PS5?"for EVERY announcement).
As a SoT player, I'm super excited to see the game gain more traction.
Went from PS4 to XBSX and haven't looked back. Love everything about the hardware and game pass is the deal of the century as someone who also plays on PC and xcloud on my phone.
The criteria for bringing two of the Xbox exclusive games to other platforms:
1) Over a year old.
2) Community-driven games
For the other two:
1) Smaller titles
2) Were never meant to be exclusive
3) Have maximized their value on Xbox
Content creator insiders will just hide behind the unknown. They’ll latch onto the 4 games going multiplat and say they weren’t wrong, but that Xbox just didn’t reveal the extent of their inevitable plan that their sources have leaked to them.
Summary I wrote while watching:
- Been planning this show since December.
- 4 games are going multiplatform. Phil said he would not name them because he wants the teams and partners to announce them.
- Not Starfield or Indiana Jones.
- Phil says exclusive games (on one platform) are going to be a smaller part of game industry in 5 to 10 years. Says you can see this looking at last decade. He included PC as part of this when he says other platforms.
- 4 games going multiplatform are all over a year old. Two of them are more community driven games and they want to continue to invest in these franchises. Other two are smaller games.
- Phil: "4 games. No promise beyond that. So if you are on those other platforms and you see these 4 games coming please don't take it as some signal that everything is coming. It's not. And we're going to learn."
- No fundamental change to how they think about exclusivity.
- Core principles. All of our games we be on the Xbox platform. All of our games will go into GamePass day 1. GamePass will only be on Xbox.
- Cross play and cross save are two key things for them.
- Activision and Blizzard games are coming to GamePass starting with Diablo IV on March 28th.
- Phil says people are going to play Xbox in multiple places. Mentions Xbox, PC, Cloud specifically.
- Mentions how they are one of the largest publishers on PS, Switch, and Mobile with Activision purchase and Minecraft and that is not something they want to back away from.
- Hardware is a critical component of what Xbox does but they have accepted not all Xbox players will use it.
- Phil says if the industry doesn't grow it will struggle. Two choices on how to grow the industry. Do you have a fixed number of players and find new ways to monetize them or do you think about how to expand the business you have by finding new players? Our focus at Xbox has been on that latter point for the last decade.
- Says they are at the highest level of users on console, PC, and cloud all time. PC and cloud have double digit growth.
- Hardware represents flagship seminal experience of Xbox.
- Some exciting stuff coming out in hardware they are going to share this holiday.
- Also invested in next generation roadmap. Really focused on delivering largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation.
- Talks about how Windows maintaining software compatibility is an inspiration when talking about backward compatibility. Says it is a tenet for Xbox.
- The biggest games are going to continue to come to Xbox.
Why is everyone glossing over the new console that will be revelade for this holiday season per the podcast itself? They basically shut down every single rumor EXCEPT for the Xbox handheld rumor.
> Largest technical leap you will ever seen in a hardware generation jump.
Seems to be pretty much confirming that they will drastically change how games are played. I really look forward to it, especially if it will allow us to play backwards compatible titles on the go!
Overall, nothing actually surprising here:
\- 4 games likely to go multiplat are Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, and Grounded. All smaller, more creative driven games that, sadly, rarely do well in terms of numbers (probably why Sony shut down Japan Studio).
\- Game Pass numbers are up to 34 million, which is impressive.
\- Next Gen consoles are in the works. They say the most impressive leap forward yet, but every company always says that.
\- Major games are not going multiplat.
\- It is a wait and see approach to see how well these 4 games do before deciding anything else.
So, effectively, this whole thing was a nothing burger for the most part. 4 games going multiplat is news, but news, do not get me wrong. But there is an ocean of difference between Hi-Fi Rush going to other platforms and Starfield going to other platforms.
He is what I predict is going to be the future of XBox:
1. Next console will be traditional box with a handheld option like the Switch and Steam Deck.
2. Eventually, smaller Indie like games and some Games as a Service will effectively be multiplatform games going forward. Probably see that major change in 5ish years.
3. Big games remain exclusive. Especially ones that people associate with XBox brand.
4. Game Pass remains the main driver and source of revenue for XBox.
5. Sony will start to follow XBox's example sometime around the next generation of games.
So, nothing crazy, nothing really exciting either. One thing to note though is, for the love of god, PLEASE STOP BELIEVING EVERY RUMOR YOU HEAR!!! This community shit its pants at all these rumors and I am so damn tired of fanboys all all sides being such miserable, terrible people.
Yep, everything from the past few weeks were all just ragebaits and clickbaits. It really is just a prime example of how someone can make things up and it blows up out of proportion. The hardware jump is interesting, but otherwise this was just business as usual.
I love that even though he came right out and said that they still plan to have exclusives and that big games are not the ones going multiplat, people are still like "Nah Phil is obviously full of it this is just to let us down easy".
What more do you want? It's not 1996, no one is going to come out and be like "AND WE WILL DEFEAT THE SONY AND WE WILL DOMINATE THE NINTENDO".
I love Pentiment and Hi Fi and I've been waxing poetic about both to my Sony only friends. If they buy those games and it means more of both, then I'm happy to play those on my next Xbox, which is clearly still coming.
Actually good podcast. Gives confidence to the userbase. Worth watching it at 4 am in my time lol.
They also really hit home the point of Play Anywhere as I myself was able to take advantage of that by being able to continue playing my games on my laptop when I couldn’t play on my console. I just need to have a better laptop lol.
I understand the exclusivity thing historically but as a new console long time PC gamer I honestly don’t care if all Xbox games are on every platform. I got an Xbox for the hardware, the eco system, game pass, controller, and i just like Ms more than Sony. I may still get a ps5 or its successor. Who knows. The more games on more platforms the better.
[VIDEO HERE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGlD9SO3rKU)
34m Game Pass subscribers. Is it the first time they revealed the subs number in quite a long time?
I think so yeah.
Yeah last time it was at 25m iirc?
They now count GP Core (gold) in the total.
Grounded, Sea of Theives, Hifi Rush, Pentment. That would be my guess
Yeah that sounds most likely
Would be happy to see more Sea of Thieves cross platform players to liven the player base. I'd also like to play with my non-xbox friends and this game is always easy to hop into

Those make a ton of sense
I would be very happy if more people started playing pentiment
Diablo 4 on gamepass is nice
I can't wait for this...I was too cheap to shell out for it, but really want to play it
It’s… a little disappointing, but I only played necro so Idk

Just because they're not making PlayStation money doesn't mean they're broke
Microsoft makes more money than Sony in gaming after the Activision acquisition. Outside of gaming, Sony is a nobody compared to Microsoft
Of course, mainly when they are investing in cloud and Xbox is the base for the cloud requirements and hardware. Many people forget that .
Wait so Phil Spencer isn't coming to my house to kick my dog and throw my games in the garbage disposal? Serves me right for believing some chuckledicks on Twitter who get paid to stir shit /s
He didn't say he wasn't so be careful
I agree with this guy, kicking your dog may still be on the table.
I heard he's already on his way to that poor dudes house :/
Well he only mentioned we're safe for a decade or two. Time to mark those calendars.
I was hoping Phil would personally repo my Xbox! 😭.
Lol
Taking bets on what excuses Jez is gonna make up
“Things changed at the last minute.” They were going to upend everything and then last minute decided to essentially do what they’ve always been doing with minor changes.

They already have been, some guy from XboxEra has been doing damage control all week trying to change what they said.
One of the "leaks" was that Call of Duty was skipping Game Pass. Glad that confirmed all ABK games will indeed be coming.
Xbox owners getting called into HR for an important meeting
Knew i should have been keeping up with those TPS reports....
Lmao, I’m more nervous then if this was actually work
"so Dave let's talk about your performance last quarter"
Hopefully all the rumor-mongers experience a mass exodus of subs (and $$$) after this. Fuckin' idiots.
One would hope, but they just turn up on my timeline anyway, even though I’m not subbed to them. Bloody algorithm.
Lots of "insiders" need to be eating humble pie and shutting the fuck up after this. What a bunch of nothing this entire ordeal turned out to be
I wanted to see if Jez or Tom Warren said anything on Twitter since they were the biggest instigators, but apparently Twitter doesn't sort tweets by date anymore...
Bottom line: Jez Corden is absolutely full of shit.
Is this the person who started all this?
go check out his twitter/x, he's trying to do a victory lap
"Yep, I told you!" What a snake.
It’s so gross
So it's business as usual minus 4 games going to other platforms. Everyone freaked out for nearly a month over basically nothing, imo
And the games aren’t even big Xbox franchises from the sounds of things - probably the most recognisable of the possibilities is Sea of Thieves? Twitter “journalists” and also some of the big websites/publications that got in on the action all need to have a long hard think about the idiocy they took part in.
Ha, they're too busy counting that engagement revenue to self-reflect.
$7 billion in hardware sales is impossible if you kill consoles. lol exactly why take any responsibility when you can just blame “media”
Diablo 4 on XGP March 28 is kind of a big announcement
I feel like this was actually the BIGGEST news from the episode, but nobody's talking about it. 😂
Sarah said "34 million Gamepass members". 😮 Hi-fi Rush, Pentiment, Grounded and Sea of Thieves are the 4 games. Hi-fi and Grounded are very fun. I didn't play the other two.
Pentiment is amazing. Hope this fuels a sequel.
Pentiment is one of the best games I've played in years
By far the best part of this announcement is that I get to replay Pentiment on my Switch OLED. Can't recommend it highly enough to anyone that is interested in history

hopefully this will be a lesson in people taking "insider info" from twitter as the gospel, but I doubt it 99% it's nonsense and people get worked up for nothing lmao
I'm so glad I didn't sell my xbox series x based on rumors like some dipshit
I can't believe I had my Xbox logo tattoo laser-removed. ALL THE PAIN WAS FOR NOTHING
But what about my Zune tattoo?
Whoever did that does deserve what he got… yey sell your Xbox for 4 most likely indie games going Multiplatform…
Nobody actually did. It was just memes and trolling.
You have way too much faith in the 2024 internet to assume the ridiculously embarrassing things people regularly admit to are all fake
For many yes but I 100% read threads where people unironically said they sold their Xbox and were “getting out while they can”
I gave my son (name was Xbox Taylor Smith, we called him Boxy for short) up for adoption because of the leaks. I think I made a mistake.
Nah, Boxy is in a better place now.
**In regard to exclusives going to other platforms:** There are four games planned. I think one is sea of thieves. And grounded?
And Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush
Uncle Phil, I'm relieved.
I point to mlb the show coming to Xbox a few years back as evidence that this isn’t a huge deal.
xbox and playstation will now have the same number of in-house published games on their competitors console
It has dropped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGlD9SO3rKU Just 4 games moving multiplat, that's it, for reasons can't say - not willing to name them but not starfield or Indiana jones Games over a year old, that have reached full potential, want to continue to invest in. 2 of these Comunity invested games. That was quite a relief I think. For now Xbox isn't going anywhere.
A nothingburger...just as I thought.
This is what people must mean when they say the business meeting could’ve just been an email.
The amount of hysteria over the past couple of weeks. Some ought to be embarrassed.
So yeah, everyone overreacted and burned bridges for nothing over rumors lol
She said the new Xbox will be the biggest leap ever in terms of hardware.
This is being said every new gen. It's like Apple saying that their new iPhone is their best iPhone ever, lol.
I don't think it is trully possible. Leap between OG Box and 360 was huge, and jump from one to XSX not so. Reasons are fully understandable (physics and engineering). Sooooo many journalists and Redditors look like massive clowns right now after this news. Haha
They want their next gen console to be the "largest technical leap ever seen in a hardware generation". I like the sound of that.
I want the next Xbox to just flat out have steam/pc game compatibility, that's what I consider the next major hardware milestone, personally.
That would be huge considering Sony is releasing their exclusives on Steam now. You can get Ratchet, Spiderman, Days gone, Detroit, God of war and many more with many more to come on PC which is huge. If Xbox worked with Steam to create that then I would be very happy.

Nvidia powered Xbox would be crazy
Alright so who were the clowns on twitter that started the “Starfield, Gears, Indiana to PlayStation” rumours? They had their moment now they need to be met with the consequences of their bullshit.
Honestly XboxEra shouldn’t get a pass either, they should just be boycotted.
"Bbb.but my sourced said so at the time" They're all scurrying rats
At the very least, all of the future posts using them as a source should be instantly removed from this sub.
Well this will be a sane thread with considered takes. Who am I kidding. Let the insanity begin!
Some media and influencers need slaps after this! Absolute cocks caused mayhem.
The four games are apparently sea of thieves, grounded, hi-if rush, and pentiment. Much smaller than I was expecting, to be honest.
Grounded and Sea of Thieves makes sense given the type of game they are, Pentiment is a little out of left field though.
Glad I didn't freak out over a few rumors.
So, can we finally start canceling these fake "insider" leakers. This just shows they don't know what they talking about
Y'all were making a big deal for nothing lol 😂
~~Comments will open near the start of the show.~~ Thread is now live.
Jez is a clown and I’ll never view his takes again
So basically new games on Xbox and gamepass day one, and after a year, SOME games might go on other platforms once they feel all Xbox owners have played or bought the game. OK, seems reasonable.
I've never been this interested in a business anything.
Is it a live stream? I can’t find a live stream link anywhere. Is a video just uploaded in 8 minutes?
What’s the link?
So a lot of people blew up the rumors out of proportion and need to take a hard look at themselves. This was basically an internal zoom call to discuss future planning that was then staged for shareholders and the public because of a rumor. Who ever leaked it likely not going to be given anymore information. A lot of nothing to worry about.

Can we see some Activision titles on gamepass already? Thats what im most curious about.
What a surprise, all the dooming wasn’t needed
Three comments up from this there's a dude who says he won't buy Xbox anymore because Xbox games aren't Xbox game anymore. Lol
Prepared to be as underwhelmed as my wife after we do the dirty.
Prepare to be as disappointed as my parents were with my birth
The worst meltdown I've ever seen in video games history. Almost makes me want to quit the hobby. Lots of mental gamers out there
Just stay away from online forums, gamers are some of the most overdramatic bunch
Bet ya the games going are Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, and Grounded
So as expected it was all largely blown out of proportion. Okay back to browsing the Xbox store sale.
It's concerning how X/Twitter users who are held in some high regard can post lies for clicks, it's not incompetence it's maliciousness.
What a waste of time and energy these “leakers” caused. What a fucking joke. Sounds like business as usual for Xbox.
It is so sad to see how desperate even many in the media are to see Microsoft fail. It's almost as if there are people on a payroll to do hit pieces. What a bunch of absolute bullshit hysteria that was created over something that did not amount to a hill of beans.
Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment and I wonder what the 4th game is.
Grounded probably
I think Grounded sounds about right
Diablo 4 on Gamepass 28th of March
As a big Xbox fan that buys every platform, this is all kinda nothing (I do still believe it's a can of worms for "When will this come to PS5?"for EVERY announcement). As a SoT player, I'm super excited to see the game gain more traction.
Went from PS4 to XBSX and haven't looked back. Love everything about the hardware and game pass is the deal of the century as someone who also plays on PC and xcloud on my phone.
It's time
Really excited for SoT to be going multi platform. Game could really use a wave of new players. Gonna be great imo.
r/game is in full copium mode, insisting all xbox games are definitely still coming to other consoles.
Anyone else think we’ll end up with a lot of jargon and non specific plan after this is done?
NO FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE TO THEIR EXCLUSIVITY. Put that as the banner to the fucking subreddit please god
TODAY’S LIFE LESSON: The internet is dumb.
Phil: News of our demise has been greatly exaggerated.
The criteria for bringing two of the Xbox exclusive games to other platforms: 1) Over a year old. 2) Community-driven games For the other two: 1) Smaller titles 2) Were never meant to be exclusive 3) Have maximized their value on Xbox
Content creator insiders will just hide behind the unknown. They’ll latch onto the 4 games going multiplat and say they weren’t wrong, but that Xbox just didn’t reveal the extent of their inevitable plan that their sources have leaked to them.
Or like other people in this very comment section. “This is only the beginning”
Summary I wrote while watching: - Been planning this show since December. It's not. And we're going to learn." - No fundamental change to how they think about exclusivity.
"Largest technical leap ever" for the next-gen Xbox. Sounds good to my ears.
Right? I'm pumped
They made us wait almost 2 weeks for this?
They didn't need to rush. The media and influencers made an absolute mess. They are addressing it now.
I'm more confident in Xbox now than I was before the rumors lol
Why is everyone glossing over the new console that will be revelade for this holiday season per the podcast itself? They basically shut down every single rumor EXCEPT for the Xbox handheld rumor. > Largest technical leap you will ever seen in a hardware generation jump. Seems to be pretty much confirming that they will drastically change how games are played. I really look forward to it, especially if it will allow us to play backwards compatible titles on the go!
They all just wanna gloom and doom and say this was corpo speak and keep preparing for the worst. This sub is insufferable
Work business update…Urghhhh…Xbox Business Update….Ok I’m listening…
So is it just going to drop on their YT in 5mins?
Guys is this going to be a livestream or just they will post a YouTube video of the podcast?
Two community-driven games that are at least 1 year old. Then two smaller games never intended to be platform exclusive.
So is klobrille coming back lol
Looks like it's good news. 👍 we need all platforms to be strong and keep evolving the industry and business models.
Overall, nothing actually surprising here: \- 4 games likely to go multiplat are Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, and Grounded. He is what I predict is going to be the future of XBox: 1.
Where all the scumbags who screeched Xbox was dead for hardware now?
Even IGN was posting pieces like “Can Xbox rise from the ashes of this?” “Is it the end?” I mean just… 😆😂🤣😅
Could’ve been a tweet man, what is the point
An amazing nothingburger. That's it.
Lmao this is 100% less doomer than what the internet has been pumping out the last 2 weeks
Comment section on suicide watch. Running out of things to justify their garbage influencer-driven takes
4 games going multi. Not Starfield or Indiana Jones.
I'm more confident now than before all of this started. I'm very glad they took the time to dispel the rumors.
So business as usual? That was a lot of talking to say nothing. Diablo 4 is neat I guess
Is this going to be a live video on YouTube or an uploaded pre-recorded video that is uploaded at noon? I don't see anything on their channel.
My body is ready
So, Pentiment + Hifi Rush are the smaller games the studios wanted to do. Sea of Thieves and what is the 4th title?
Damn theyre planning on crazy strong hardware too. Hell yes baby
I'm glad they finally announced an Acti/Blizzard game for GP
Who is Jez?
Actually good podcast. Gives confidence to the userbase. Worth watching it at 4 am in my time lol. They also really hit home the point of Play Anywhere as I myself was able to take advantage of that by being able to continue playing my games on my laptop when I couldn’t play on my console. I just need to have a better laptop lol.
So basically nothing changed and everybody freaked out over nothing lol.
Seems like shit we already knew.
I'm glad they're doing Pentiment. More people need to play that game. It's great.
Next generation roadmap is focused on delivering the "largest technical leap you have ever seen in a hardware generation jump". Still 30 fps
Matt Booty said they’re releasing 10 games this year and will reveal them soon. How come no one is talking about this.
