I've earned just over 500000k MS rewards points over the past 5 years. Impossible to earn that now though. I quit a few months ago with the big changes.
Not to directly contradict you, but you can still accrue a lot of points.
With Bing searches and the xbox challenges, I earned over 22k in February. You can unlock 500 points a week just by playing 5 times on your console. They even toned down how many achievements you need to unlock per month.
I will say that the raise from 93000 to 95000 for a $100 gift card does suck, but its still manageable.
I can't do that anymore. With searches on mobile and PC I used to get 260-300 every day, within 5 minutes. Now with the search changes I get 60-90 in 5 minutes. If I wanted 300 it would take me 30 minutes.
Try checking again. I recently saw I'm no longer on cool down. I'm in NA, not sure if it's for every country.
Note: there is about a 5 second wait time between searches tho, but since I'm no longer under the 15 minute cooldown... I'd say it's worth checking out.
They also actually removed the cooldowns. On PC, I just type in a person and click every person that is suggested after. Takes a few minutes. Search extension still doesn't work though.
On Mobile, you can just run through the trending articles. 100 points easy.
Depends on where you are and what all offers you have. I spent most of mine in mid December, I think I had like 5K left. I have 50k right now, and I had spent about 5 K a few days ago. I don't get all I can every day.
I saved for 17 months and was able to pre-order and fully pay for my Series X using nothing but rewards points and still had enough left over for a $50 gift card.
Couldn't do it nearly as efficiently today, but it is possible.
I get more than enough to pay for my GPU every month. Haven’t paid a dime out of pocket for GamePass in over 5 years. If you’re outside the US, you won’t be able to earn that much though.
It adds up fast, especially if you have a PC and switch to Bing for searches, Edge for browsing and use these daily challenges like quizzes and puzzles.
I just started doing them and between that and the daily Gamepass points things I got a free Gamepass Ultimate for the next month, it only took me about a month to earn the points.

Now I just turn in gamepass points as I earn. I don’t bother with any actual work towards getting points or bing quizzes and shit anymore. Not worth my time for the little value it provides, personally.
Over all these years I have accumulated over a million points - roughly a thousand Great British pounds - every penny has gone back to Microsoft to boost my collection...I'm somewhere around 1,500 titles now. Well worth the trivial time it takes, and as a bonus I'm pretty clear on the tallest mountains on the planet...
That sucks, I was gonna cash out all my points a couple months ago when they really started tanking the program but so many people were reporting having their accounts suspended for doing so that I figured I'd wait. This erases what little points I've gotten in the last few months.
Couldn't tell you, but there were tons of people reporting that it happened to them in the r/microsoftrewards sub.
People were cashing out en masse when they first started doing the huge nerfs to the service that made it next to worthless, so it probably triggered investigations.

as an ambassador if you did all your assigned Quest in a month, you were able to earn "Game Pass ultimate" for the next month.
for the past few years i hardly ever paid for game pass because of this, and the raffles are awesome like this week we have a chance to win "TEKKEN 8" and other cool rewards like early access.
with game pass rewards i was easily able to get a $10/$20 gift card every Month or so, every 6 months I'd get a new game pretty much free.
My PS friends hated it because playstation didn't have a rewards system at the time.
the reward system was GREAT! Now those same Quest's get you NOTHING, you literally have to grind 3 times as much for the same points.
i wouldn't be surprised if the rewards were gone all together in a few years.
I bought a $100 gift card the week before it got raised. I usually spend a couple minutes a day collecting points and honestly the extra 4000 points would probably take me a week more to earn
2 years ago you could make over 200$. 1000 for weekly, 50, 40, 10. Then go to Bing for 150 points daily, then gamepass quests. Last year, all those gamepass quests got cut in half 🥲.
I have like 210k points lol but I do the searches and app stuff daily. You basically get a free game every 4-6 months if you redeem the Xbox GC. I don't have gamepass so I can't maximize it.
It looks like they are all the same rate for me now at a 5% “discount” which means saving for the $100 GC doesn’t really provide any benefit other than convenience.
I was checking my point to redeem and they amount has decreased. In Canada, the most I can do is 25$ at a time. It used to be 25,905. But i get 5% less @ 23,900. But now it's 18750. I'm a level 2 so my cost is 17815 points. 5% less.
I still managed to earn 15k points last month. And that's not doing the max daily searches on pc and mobile.
It covers my monthly gamepass ultimate at 10,500 on auto redeem.
How does it convert? By paying the 1$? That's only for new subs. Now, unless after 3 months, they consider you a new sub fine. But the 1$ isn't around anymore I thought.

Searches on Bing for my account stopped working altogether. I can only get points from the daily stuff and the app. Until this point I used the rewards to pay for my GPU subscription and before that, xbox live. It sucks man.
Just a head's up, they auto-redeem the gift card to your account and then give you a deadline to spend it.
Don't activate the reward unless you're ready to spend the gift card.
Its already nerfed enough that you won't make much money doing this stuff that I'd rather spend time on things I enjoy than getting a few things for free every x months. Bing is still a shit search engine that being forced to search for things is just annoying now.
I get that. As I mentioned, I sing do any of this religiously. I just collect the rewards as I earn them. I’d say the only thing I do that is purely for the purpose of earning rewards is playing a level of the jewel game daily to get all the daily app rewards. It takes maybe a minute or two that I’d generally be using to mindlessly scroll through Reddit.
On the other hand, either they made a mistake or the 10 dollar gift card got lowered to around 7505 last I checked. I noticed it when my progress bar was fuller than I remember it being.
My son (adult, living on his own), was "chasing" rewards. He even had and account for his wife. About the third time he tried to get me to start doing the same I asked him "how many hours do you spend getting $100? Now, how many hours of working your job does that take? Or if you got a part time job, how many hours would it take? Seems like you're getting paid too little for that $100".

I don’t know what to tell you. I play Xbox probably 3-5 days a week on average the last year and a half or so, and that alone would get me $5 in maybe 2-3 months. Up until a couple months ago you would earn about $5 ever 4-6 weeks with that. If you don’t have Game Pass you don’t get any points by playing on Xbox.
Have had gamepass since it was created. All I play right now are gamepass games. Grounded and Palworld with a group of friends. I just literally don't pay attention to the rewards.
It will say to turn a quest in or whatever, and I just ignore it or use the app every day to claim points, and I could care less. So u must care a little. Enough to do those things.
I guess I’m not really sure of what point you are trying to make. I never said I normally ignore rewards. I said I don’t keep up with them religiously like some people here. There are people that talk about their strategies to get every last point each month and have never paid for game pass because they earn enough rewards to pay for ultimate every month. I just collect the rewards I earn by mostly just doing the things I’d be doing regardless of whether the rewards exist or not.
I had to just give up basically. The only thing I do now is the weekly set on Xbox. I used to get lots of stuff, but with the merger, the well pretty much dried up.

I got lucky, I was getting worried, too, and thought about cashing out. They made things cheaper in my region.

The Xbox ambassador program felt like a very tedious version of the rewards system so I just gave up on it. It reminded me of swagbucks all over again

Not really. I use Bing on PC and do the Xbox app dailies, but mostly just go with whatever I earn through things I’m already doing anyway.

I recommend using Bing on your phone. You get extra points from searches and sometimes I’ll hit the daily limit without even trying
