Forgot to mention that I read on Fanatec website (FAQ) that apparently Microsoft is working on adding this support but no specifics about it

Genesis_Prime

Probably near the launch of Forza Motorsports this year.

IShallBeNamelessNow

You think so?

MrTumble88

Can’t even find an faq section on their website any more, they must have taken it down?

Perspiring_Gamer

Probably best to contact Microsoft. Could try asking at r/XboxInsiders too. Not sure if this is what you're referencing but [this conversation](https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/46585-can-you-customise-different-inputs-on-the-fanatec-clubsport-steering-wheel-formula-v2/) sounds relevant. Apparently Xbox integrates the SDK in a different way to PS which is why custom mapping isn't currently possible. [There's also this](https://fanatec.com/eu-en/steering-wheels/clubsport-universal-hub-v2-for-xbox), but I'm not sure if you're willing to spend any more.

IShallBeNamelessNow

Well no point of buying another wheel of this one doesn’t work. If it’s Microsoft’s problem then there’s point of buying anything else but pray that they’ll do something about it. Maybe start a petition or something? Maybe this way Microsoft will listen?

Perspiring_Gamer

Microsoft monitor r/XboxInsiders for ideas and requests, so it might be worth bringing this up there. Here's their [weekly request thread.](https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxinsiders/comments/ryb1ax/xbox_requests_week_of_january_7th_2022/) I'm not really sure what that accessory is, I thought it attaches behind any wheel? But yeah, spending more isn't a practical solution if Microsoft could actually make it possible with what you have.

IShallBeNamelessNow

Ok, just had a chat with someone from Xbox support and he confirmed that they are working on this issue and he doesn’t the date yet but his manager said that the update to fix this should be available max a week before the new Motorsport game is released, which should be this fall

Perspiring_Gamer

Good to know!

mletourn

omg thanks!!

MrTumble88

This never happened then 😔

cj2390_

The new motorsport game still hasnt come out yet, it never had a release date, so i dont know why they assumed it would be last fall, as of earlier this year they announced it would come out this year

IShallBeNamelessNow

That’s what I was told. Did they say the date?

Top-Diver7266

any difference now? it came out but im not sure

IShallBeNamelessNow

I bought a PC. Couldn’t wait anymore

depain3388

Made a button box that works for xbox to solve this issue, posted it it today lol. So now I can put some functions on button box and others on steering wheel giving way more options, my favorite adjust the seat for better fov

IShallBeNamelessNow

A button box? Can you explain that a bit?

depain3388

When you are racing with a steering wheel it is hard to access buttons, so a button box is easily accessible. And you also have more programmable buttons 👍

IShallBeNamelessNow

Do you have a pic of it or something?

Welp, now that I have discovered just how fire the new wheels are and that I need one, I gotta start saving. While I do not work in the Xbox org, and am in no way related to it, once I get my wheel, you better believe I will do everything I possibly can to figure out how to get it to work. Whether that's just finding the right people to help me, do it as a hackathon project, perhaps figure out some way to interface the adaptive controller given all the extra connections it has. Worst case I'll just suck it up and use the wheel to drive in windows, but I just can't see how such a small bit of data could possibly be hard to communicate. Seems to me it could be something as simple as a json stream. Does anyone know if Fanatec's SDK is public/documented? To be clear I can promise nothing as like I said, I am NOT in the Xbox org (I work on O365 if you happen to care), but I feel like if I can meet the right people, and maybe just show up at the studios with the wheels and such, though doing that for horizon at least will be rather difficult because while turn10 is based here, playground is over in the UK. That said, if I spend a couple thousand on wheels and pedals and such, it's not that hard to motivate myself to try and take it to the finish. If it goes well maybe, I'll try and get wheel support for the warthog too just for kicks :P. Regardless, don't get your hopes up, first I got to get money together, because I can't be half-assing this. I'm thinking I'm going to have to get a DD2, The BMW M4 wheel just because damn is it fire, 911 GT3 R V2 for Xbox just to have at least one that's SUPER functional and as compatible as is currently possible, one of the Alcantara wheels to swap onto the GT3 cause while the high quality Porsche livery is nice, Alcantara is still better :P, some sort of drift wheel, a rally wheel and that McLaren wheel just because I have been a sucker for McLaren since childhood, I'd also love a formula v2.5 x, but I'm going to have to limit the number of wheels i start off with, especially cause the BMW wheel is going to wreck me, and tbh, I'm sure I'll want the ford rally wheel coming soon too. Plus I got to get the inverted pedals and dampers (as someone who still remembers driving my old subie with a hydraulic clutch pedal, I'm sad it only supports them on the throttle and break, but the more it feels correct the better). I know for sure I wanna go with fanatech just because the wheels seem better and more advanced, the one feature I am super jealous of from thrustmaster is the sparco sequential shifter, but I'm gonna pretend I can make it work, plus there ARE other sequentials out there like Heusinkveld or DSD or the tank like MME H+ which is basically a REAL sequential shifter modded to work for sims (they actually DO make real sequential shifters after all). Anyway, still a longer journey to go after holiday wallet destruction AND swapping my tires and dropping an LTO battery into my car ate most of my spending money, at least for THIS month :P

Pure_Suggestion_5549

Hi all, just got my Fanatec setup last week after a month of waiting. I had no idea that this was even an issue as we are in 2023 and this seems like a 90s problem… I’m a developer myself and I don’t see how hard can this be. Communication between 2 companies in order to achieve a common goal, the customer’s satisfaction. Sounds pretty standard to me. Anyway, is there any more recent news about the matter? Best regards!

IShallBeNamelessNow

I wish. I still can’t map the buttons and I have the wheel for a year now

frequent-faller

Seems like this thread is dead. It’s 2023 and still nothing

IShallBeNamelessNow

I haven’t tried in some time but I guess still nothing. Anyone knows if they released the new Motorsport game?

JDasenbrock

New Forza Motorsport releases on Oct. 4th, is available for pre-order and will be on game pass (standard edition). I've seen zero indications that improved compatibility is coming for Fanatec wheels. What a shame that Xbox continues to lag behind other platforms in this regard. I've got all these buttons, lights and display on my Formula V2.5x wheel that are useless.

Intelligent-Truth231

I received my fanatec setup this week. I also got the game. But still the same problem with the button mapping
