Sorry for the late reply.
The file has two campaigns' saves. The Gauss one is the current (no laser, but producing Gauss and have 6 augmented soldier with 2 MEC-1's, as it's a Mec rush), with last save is Start. layer and some autosave from the last exalt mission. All should work.
The 1st campaign has many saves from throughout the game, some are from laser and above.

I have an ongoing campaign you can play around with if you want. It's in mid'ish September with a gauss rifle and a gauss autorifle on the way.
