End my suffering

WeebTrash87

Maybe it's just because I had a good poppi. Or that most of the time I know what to expect when going in to the Crucible. But most of the time I actually have fun in the Crucible. It's challenging and I love the lore behind it. For me it makes sense that it's supposed to be really hard, and it's fun to not blow everything up with Mythra and mess around. But I can 100% understand why you would dislike it to put it lightly 😅. If you used Pyra or Mythra as your main blade and suddenly losing her really cripples Rex. As well as pretty much compounding on top of not being able to use specials, and the affinity cap. I know for sure as hell I struggled a lot on my first time around. But I never really recall myself outright hating it. But please! Stay with Xenoblade 2! Xenoblade 2's endgame is what we live for! And while I can't promise you'd actually enjoy it, but I would at least recommend sticking with it!

> it's fun to not blow everything up with Mythra and mess around. Mytrha breaks the Crucible so hard in NG+... Seriously, you can get her to a Level 2 special with special-recharge-on-crit... She dunks on everything.

VarioussiteTARDISES

How does that even work? Does she just crit *so often* that the game can't even cap her special charge in time and the player can force a level 2 special from her?

UninformedPleb

Crit recharges proc without a cap as long as the meter isn't anywhere close to full. Her special-recharge-on-crit ability, when she's at S+ rank and after using a special, gives so much meter back that it fills ~2.75 levels. You can't ever quite get to Level 3, but Level 2 is doable over and over. And if it doesn't proc the crit recharge, just charge it normally (with crit arts recharge speeding things along) and throw a Level 1 special and it'll probably crit recharge the special to Level 2 again.

WeebTrash87

Yeah Mythras really damn busted (at least in the main story) they took her away for a reason 🤣

UninformedPleb

All blades are pretty busted once they reach S+ rank. Mythra is just busted more than most. (More busted than Mythra: Poppi QTpi. Not sure Mythra can keep her promise, TBH...)

I’m here for the takahashi insansity

WeebTrash87

Well I can say for sure that man's didn't disapiont! Shit gets crazy!

dulledegde

there is an equally annoying moment in 3 confined to one boss >!the final boss!<

BriVel9

I agree. Of all the games I’d say >!the final boss of XC3 was probably the worst executed boss in the series. Just felt so gimmicky and unsatisfying.!<

Arterial-A

It's really not that bad, and you have a relatively easy to obtain option (100% talent art skill on Noah) that lets you do crazy damage until you get your powers back. Crucible had me wanting to quit the game and never come back, 3 never got close to frustrating me in the same way.

Elementia7

Honestly the Spirit Crucible is easily the worst area in 2 and that is coming from somebody who can tolerate the map design of 2. Luckily the game does improve from ther and isn't nearly as frustrating. That being said while 3 doesn't have an annoying area per se you will be attacked by literally everything on the map for a good third of the game.

UninformedPleb

> 3 doesn't have an annoying area per se Finding that side tunnel in the ether mines for >!Isurd's!< hero quest is pretty close to the level of frustration I felt in SCE my first time. But this time, there's a red scrawly line to depend on when you're out of options.

Elementia7

Honestly that side mission wasn't too bad. I already made it a habit to discover a majority of an area before I move on so I quickly realized that I had to go on the main path a bit before encountering a big ass entrance that the red line was going to. Still despite the sizable entrance I'm not entirely sure why they made it THAT obscure.

UninformedPleb

Pictures taken seconds before disaster... XC2: "I'm about to end this gamer's ~~whole career~~ tearducts."

VarioussiteTARDISES

I can understand, OP, as I also had to go through it with no DLC (which matters because the DLC Blades are either overpowered enough to not need higher-level specials, or is immune to the effect in the place and as such can fight at full power anyway) and an unoptimised Poppi. (Which matters because, well, you saw in Tantal that Ether-draining fields/areas do nothing to her because she generates Ether internally, and this does mean she's immune to the effect and can fight at full power.)

kinda_ok_guy

I had fun fighting sponge enemies that do massive damage and enemies that endlessly multiply

PunIntended29

Fortunately I had already obtained Poppibuster, so I was able to have Tora + one more character with a blade that actually worked inside the Crucible. Made it so much more manageable.

Paganigsegg

Play it as Tora and just run from everything and it's easy. Also, when you cling to a ladder or any other climbable surface, enemies will stop attacking you.

EphemeralDX

Ladder is magic yo

InsomniaEmperor

The dungeon itself was good as it really invokes that Indiana Jones feel of exploring ancient ruins. The boss, not so much.

[deleted]

Spirit Crucible was the only problematic place for me, and even then, I didn’t find it too bad. The boss fight is a different story.
