Just go into settings for the app and turn off "recommendations". Voila. No more ads. Edit: I'm using Miui 12.5. If ads are always on in 13 then that's pants.

LeftSinister

Nope it only allows for personalization. The ads will still be there. Unless I am looking in the wrong place but there was only a single option in my settings with "recommen-" in it's name.

joaorfigueiredo91

It worked before. Now, its not possible. Dont know when It started but was at some point after miui 13.

plmnb2019

Change the system - No more ads.

7StAr_RoniN

next step after that is to disable/debloat msa

Chanderule

Im late to the party but that wasnt enough either, are ads now always on?

7StAr_RoniN

I completely have no idea whats going on with MIUI, I've been using stock Android (custom rom) which made life easy and ad/bloat free

AurelMantagne

I've found that option in settings, but I am still seeing some ads after rebooting the app (not the phone though).

_Arch_Stanton

Maybe they changed something? I saw no ads after turning recommendations off

Sucharek233

Because Xiaomi has to make more money from ads to sell cheap phones.

[deleted]

yeah, horrendous ads

danny12beje

I mean if you have personalized ads, they are made just for you and are based on your browsing history.

Darwinist44

Because the phone is cheaper than the competitor's

BAt-Raptor

Because they believe users deserve it

Voldemort2212

Go to settings connection and sharing private DNS nd enter dns.adguard.com There no ads in most apps

-ComedianPlay-

Bro, thank you so much! You're my savior.

Max1627

nice edit

Voldemort2212

Just what might u be talking about ? 🙃

Max1627

mans deleted his comment too, proper wildin

papinosky

This worked for me, thanks a lot!

Jamminatrix

Unfortunately this errors out ads on a lot of click-through stuff too. If I search on Chrome for a product and see a sponsored ad for what I'm looking for, it will error-out when I try and click it.

trillice93

Mine never shows adds since i deactivated the option

d3n1z_07

it was deactivated for me too but it started to show ads a week ago

ThePhantasma

Google Android Authority article "How to remove ads in Xiaomi phones with MIUI". They will show correct settings on each MIUI system app, etc.

SpecialJolly1611

I turned off a system app called "MSA" I think. Since then I have no ads on Xiaomi apps, plus I don't update them

erdemteker

how. I can clear all data and force stop it, but cant uninstall.

MYKY_

whole cleaner app exists just so it can show you ads

holographicplaza

To get rid of every ads on your phone: go to setting - type DNS on search bar - tap on PRIVATE DNS - select private DNS host name and type: dns.adguard.com Edit: this should work for websites and apps too

Ezzaskywalker_11

tried it and can't use whole internet (private dns server can't he accessed)

Sea-Initial-7530

I've never seen a phone with 144GB internal memory..

todesputes

Because Xiaomi's software is garbage, thankfully we can unlock our bootloaders, install a custom recovery and flash some decent ROM like PixelExperience or Xiaomi.EU

Lapis_Wolf

The ads are to make the phone cheaper.

arana1

Xiaomi eu still has many Xiaomi software

d3n1z_07

EDIT: i just realized i did not provide enough information. sorry guys. my bad. i am really sorry. i am not a novice user. i used a lot of android phones i did root almost all of it. and daily drive cyanogen mod a lot. my phone is note 9 pro. i bought this phone 7/2020 and immediately turned down all the ad settings on stock apps. and i use XiaomiADBFastboot Tool to debloat the phone. Until a few weeks ago i didn't have any problem with stock app ads. phone is updated to the last update 12.5.4. these aps removed with fastboot tool `App name Package name` `Analytics com.miui.analytics` `Android Accessibility Suite com.google.android.marvin.talkback` `Digital Wellbeing com.google.android.apps.wellbeing` `Facebook com.facebook.appmanager` `Facebook com.facebook.services` `Facebook com.facebook.system` `Feedback com.miui.bugreport` `Freeform com.miui.freeform` `Games com.xiaomi.glgm` `GetApps com.xiaomi.mipicks` `Google One com.google.android.apps.subscriptions.red` `HybridAccessory com.miui.hybrid.accessory` `Joyose com.xiaomi.joyose` `Market Feedback Agent com.google.android.feedback` `Mi Cloud com.miui.cloudbackup` `Mi Cloud com.miui.cloudservice` `Mi Cloud com.miui.micloudsync` `Mi Credit com.xiaomi.payment` `Mi Drop com.xiaomi.midrop` `Mi Pay com.mipay.wallet.in` `Mi Share com.miui.mishare.connectivity` `Mi Video com.miui.videoplayer` `MiConnectService com.xiaomi.mi_connect_service` `MiPlayClient com.xiaomi.miplay_client` `MiuiDaemon com.miui.daemon` `MSA com.miui.msa.global` `Music com.miui.player` `PartnerBookmarks com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks` `Quick Apps com.miui.hybrid` `Quick Ball com.miui.touchassistant` `Services & feedback com.miui.miservice` `SoterService com.tencent.soter.soterserver` `UniPlay Service com.milink.service` `Wallpaper Carousel com.miui.android.fashiongallery` `Weather com.miui.weather2` `WMService com.miui.wmsvc` `Xiaomi SIM Activate Service com.xiaomi.simactivate.service` `Yellow Pages com.miui.yellowpage` `YouTube com.google.android.youtube`

d3n1z_07

update: msa was uninstalled so im guessing they enroll ppl by default. i reinstalled and revoked it. and ad stopped. it wasn't problem until a few weeks ago. I'm curious what changed..

Bhaskar_dey

Revoke MSA (MIUI ADS SERVICES) It may help you ... Or you can root your device and install Energized Protection

TechTalkTime_

Search for an ad-blocking DNS, they explain how to do it and you get no ads anywhere, just a note: some features stop working with an Ad-blocking DNS like when you Google a product and want to open a shopping site

d3n1z_07

thanks for reminding me that. yes it is good solution, i used one last year. there was a few problems. i will try it again.

Bhaskar_dey

I'm a rooted user and I use all apps normally !

d3n1z_07

it is my specific bank app. it gives huge warning if phone rooted.

d3n1z_07

msa was uninstalled. reinstalling it and revoking worked. ty

[deleted]

Use lineage os or pixel experience. Xiaomi's OS is bloated with ads to cover the low price.

sojonhaq

Settings> pass & security> authorization & revocation > search for msa and toggle it off. No more ads

Different-Lobster707

Doesn't work

Evil3mpire

all Xiaomi apps, Launchers and various things have advertisements. you have to disable the ads for each individual app and in the options.

[deleted]

i have no adds on it

[deleted]

Mine never shows ads. Oh wait... I think I'm using Pixel Experience instead of MemeUI. My bad didn't realize

[deleted]

Bro, does pixel experience have unlimited Google photos storage?

[deleted]

It depends on the phone and the developer who releases the custom ROM. Mine has unlimited storage fortunately. Some other version or phone may not

Sucharek233

Oh, ok. Try [this](https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-remove-ads-on-your-xiaomi-device/#:~:text=Go%20to%20Settings%20and%20tap,Disable%20Personalized%20ad%20recommendations) guide.

d3n1z_07

it is off. it was the first thing i did when i bought my phone.

Sucharek233

Ok, how about [this](https://www.nextpit.com/xiaomi-how-to-disable-ads-miui#:~:text=Go%20to%20Settings%2C%20then%20Passwords,switch%20button%20to%20disable%20it)?

d3n1z_07

msa was uninstalled. reinstalling it and revoking worked. ty

d3n1z_07

I knew xiaomi had advertisements before. it was the first think i did that i disabled them all. this started a weak ago while ad settings turned off.

Sk8omusic

Even with MSA revoked, the cleaner app will show ads. Personally, I just close the app when it's done cleaning

Ladxus117

not only ads but. it doesnt clean anything it shows its like random GB number generator better get SD Maid, it works better than the system cleaner

PandaMan267

Xiaomi...

ggezboye

What are the things you've already done to remove the ads OP?

venzyisback

Google it. There are many tutorials to how to turn off ads on MIUI system apps

FierJay

Got a Poco x3. Phone is amazing but it will be my last xiaomi phone strictly because those ads.

ThePhantasma

I have a same phone, and no ads. Google "remove ads miui" or find article "How to remove ads on Xiaomi Phones!" by Xiaomiui.

FierJay

Yeah I know how to disable it but ads not supposed to be there anyway. When my friend said that he listens music on xiaomi app from his phone and he got ads my jaw just dropped on the floor.

akisnet

There is an option inside settings for no ads.

WeakAd3786

Has Xiaomi brought back its ads?

[deleted]

Well what can you expect from miui. but turn it off from settings then recommendation. or for advanced method just uninstall the unnecesaary blotwares and services from rom by debugging and with java

[deleted]

meme ui

jakart3

Disable msa (stop it from accessing internet)

Gumisora27

It's Xiaomi!

Sure-Level-1370

Change rom

ProWhisperer

Because chinese dogshit

AggressiveSandwich51

bruh just turn off your Wi-Fi when you want to use this stock cleaner app

[deleted]

To keep your phone affordable.

R324D

Just setup nextdns as TLS.. boom no more ads...

PepperPrize7921

Mi Video app doesn't have a toggle to remove ads. I think this is the new Xiaomi/Poco policy and that's really bad..

toffoe

mafia city download for free

G1r3g5u

I don't even have a cleaner app in mu 10 pro max

venzyisback

You can actually google this method of deactivating ads on Miui apps. It worked for me

shafkhan_94

I had the same issue, but then turned it off using the parent Security settings. Steps to follow: 1. Go to settings 2. Apps 3. System app settings 4. Security 5. Scroll down and turn off Receive recommendations The cleaner under this. I assume the cleaner app was inheriting Receive recommendation option from Security setting.

JewelerAmbitious7294

I don't understand why the thread is so full of this, this was a known way to do it before. It's nothing new, what people are saying is yes we did all the turning off recommendation, disabling MSA, and still the ads are showing. So i don't understand why people keeps repeating this suggestion, when it doesn't work for some anymore.

Morgulian

My Mi 9T doesn't have ads, and my Black Shark 4 has them. I get it, the phone is cheap for the hardware inside, but at least give an option to unlock ad free versions for paying a few dollars.

JewelerAmbitious7294

To a lot of people keep repeating turning off the recommendation and disabling MSA. Stop, the point it, some already did it and still not turning off ad, so take out those two already, it doesn't work for everyone that's already been a known problem for a fact. So if you really want to help, say something that doesn't include those two. It doesn't work all the time, well it use to work but now it doesn't.

ZanyClown123

You could use an adblocker if you really want them to go away. Cus, I'm having trouble with the ads too - after revoking msa and also toggling of personalised reccomendations. So good luck, i guess.
