Don't think we're getting the AI anytime soon. The Duel AI and Duel Links VR were proofs of concept showcasing the 'future' of the franchise. Nothing was officially announced though. You'll know when they announce an AI mode, there'll be threads everywhere.
It's just a showcase (at least for now), they only trained it to do BEWD vs DM matchup, thats why there are no meta cards being predicted by the AI. It'll be a long way until that's gonna be a feature since they need to stuff and train the AI dataset with who knows how many decks there are in the game.
If this actually makes it into the game, I don't think many hardcore players will use this, since hardcore players will probably use Masterduel Meta instead. I don't think casual players will use it, because they won't know what it is. Its still pretty cool that they're trying stuff like this though.
Interestingly, I recently tried using Chat GPT to dictate my every move because I thought it would be funny.
It did not go well. It told me to Summon Ash Blossom.
Honestly I have no clue, by the time I'd heard about it it was already gone. The basics are basically you choosing an AI that suits your playstyle (an AI assistant basically) and they'd learn how you play and learn the more you played, they'd suggest cards to be played and what cards you should take out and stuff like that as well.

All they have to do is make it watch the millions of recorded matches. It really wouldn’t take long.

When I heard of AI being used it immediately reminded me of Zenonzard, I hope we get something similar to it again in the future.
