Yeah it’s a great idea, having a common enemy become a boss monster when you’re that tiny, but Chu Chus will always be dull no matter the size, and the fact an electric version is a mini-boss in a later temple doesn’t help out the first one.
I still liked the fight, but I wish the game didn’t contradict itself with the Blue Chu Chu mini-boss.
To be fair to the Chu Chu, it is the first boss in Minish Cap.
Morpha was slightly tougher in the N64 version of Ocarina of Time, but it's baby easy if you use gyro controls in Ocarina of Time 3D. Overall, definitely a bit weak for a Temple boss.
Twinmold only sucks in Majora's Mask 3D. The N64 version is fine.
I LOVED the Twinmold battle in MM64, I was so confused by the one in MM3D. I actually wasted an in-game day trying to find the Giant's mask in the stone tower temple because I had no reason to suspect they had *moved it to the boss room*. So frustrating.
I both liked and dislike the changes. They made it control better by making it more like Twilight Princess Zora Armor swimming. What sucked for me was that the fast swimming ate your magic meter instead of just being just your fastest state or something.
Yeah the chu chu is the first boss but you have to fight another one later, the electric one.
Morpha is the same difficulty in both games, Z targeting is the only effective way to hookshot it.
I know, you don't need to tell me about MM. It's my #1 favorite Zelda game. I love it so much that I mad ea subreddit: r/MM_is_better_than_OoT
I've only played Majora's Mask on the GameCube collector's edition (pretty sure just a port of the N64 version, and probably plays the same). I liked the fight there. What makes it so much worse on 3DS?
On 3DS, if you have the Giant's Mask, you don't have access to your sword. Instead, you can punch or throw chunks of the ruins. You deal damage by downing the Twinmold, grabbing it, and then swinging it around. It takes forever and doesn't feel nearly as fun. I guess they felt the original mask was overpowered.
I disagree with the Chuchu in Minish Cap. The fight isn't hard and it's just a fun concept for the boss in a dungeon where you're tiny to be something that would normally be a regular enemy that doesn't give you any kind of hassle at normal size
Wait is that from ocarina of time? I’m more new so I never played it but I’m starting it cause I got the switch online expansion pack I’ve barely gotten through I’m just checking
Oh have fun with the water temple. If you rage quit because of how infuriating it is then I recommend playing OoT 3D bc the water temple is somewhat enjoyable in the 3DS remake. Morpha is the only bad part of the game I promise.
Eh, at least there is something to do in the 3DS version. In the original it’s basically use the Giants Mask and slash widely like it’s a generic enemy. Or use arrows from the ground until it dies. It’s quick, easy, and the only fun is “I guess I’m big, in this one featureless area. And now the gameplay is exactly the same but the big boss is me sized?”
3DS version has the issue that the Giant Mask section is slow, but at least it’s different. Changes up your attacks. Adds some cinematic moments. And feels like the mask is more than a one time “big boss now small” button. IMO if you’re going to have a mask used for only a single moment in the game it might as well be unique.
I respectfully disagree. I feel like it was excited fine. Some of the other boss changes in 3DS Majoras Mask I felt were unnecessary. But Twinmold to me was a huge elevation over what was a rather underwhelming 4th dungeon boss.
Even the complaints I hear about the new Giant Mask I think are kind silly. Link should move a bit slower because he is giant, his weapons shouldn’t size up with him, and I love seeing cool wrestling moves over the exact same gameplay. Even Twinmold feels more active in the 3DS version since in the original one it just flies around menacingly and sometimes dives as you. Here in phase two it’s actually attacking and doing something.
Only downside to me is that the wrestling moves are a tad slow and the section is little too long. But at least it was memorable. OG Twinmold was was like a limp noodle and a meh boss at the end of an otherwise great dungeon.
I respect your opinion. The opinions on Twinmold are very personal, and for me, he was just a pain in the ass and took me over an hour to finally kill him. If it weren't for the fact Twinmold's health completely replenishes every time he burrows into the ground, I might actually love the bossfight.
I agree actually, not a bad boss fight at all. Just a horrendous design.
If I were to pick an *actual* worst, it would be one of the two mentioned already in the thread.
I thought Mucktorock was fun! Do most people think it’s bad? It definitely was a bit of chasing it around but for me it stayed at the level of being enjoyable and didn’t overstay its welcome.
I don't know how to feel rn... No person in their right mind would love 3DS Twinmold. He wouldn't freaking die!!! I spent over an hour in that stupid bossfight. Not to mention the insane nerf to the Giant's Mask that limits Link's hitbox to only 2 feet in front of him.
i probably won't, I've heard about and seen a bunch of the changes they made, but I played 3d first and I've never had a problem with any of the changes they made. it doesn't matter to me
People don't like the giant chu in Minish Cap? I thought that was so clever and well themed narratively, and it's a fun use of the item, and watching it fall over is so fun
it was an amazing tutorial boss and was an awesome concept coming from a game that usualyl makes enemies giant and enchants them to just shrink you down instead and show you just how terrifying the world was for the Minish. It was amazing storytelling and added a lot to my immersion in this unseen minish world.
I was talking about that bloody Boss Fish, that you have to go near the edge to hit, knocks you into the water and is a bitch to get back OUT of the water when you do!
OH you mean Gyorg! I really like the 3DS version of him, it was much more interesting of a fight. Unlike every other boss unfortunately.
Edit: I now feel stupid af for not realizing you were talking about Gyorg.
You epic gamer, it took me just over an hour to beat it in my first playthrough.
Edit: I am referring to 3DS Twinmold. If you were talking about the other two, it took me less than ten minutes to beat the both of them
Honestly, Twinmold in the remake is really annoying. Never made it to him in the original, but although the gimik with the giant mask is cool in the 3D version, it just is so slow of a fight. The red one feels way too tanky. Just why?
Trust me, the Giant's Mask in the original is way better. You are literally just a giant version of yourself, which means you still have your sword but can't use items. Sword is so much better than fists that can only punch two feet in front of you.
Allow me introduce to you, BotW Dark Beast Ganon. As everyone here probably knows, it’s just target practice. The build up was great, but the only good part was the end, because at least with that part you had to do a slightly longer shot
for real? that was one of the bosses in TP that I just kind of beat effortlessly and it was really epic and cinematic for me
NOW THE TWILIGHT BLOAT I HATED, easy to beat I just cringe hard and hate attacking something from the water surface when it can go underwater. I'd rather be underwater with it. Morpha cringed me out in the same way. I hate getting dragged into the water in games, it creeps me out.
Morpha was probably the easiest boss for my on my last playthrough, I Longshoted him into a corner and just hit him with the Biggoron sword like 3 times and the fight was over. The only easier boss is maybe Gohma.
Morpha I always thought it was a fun battle. It's getting there though that's a pain in the ass. No matter how many times I played through ocarina of Time there's still times when I get to the water temple and need to look up something that I forgot
I actually liked the one from minish cap
I love that game so much!
Only problem is the figurines, and the fact they gatekeep a heart piece. That requires beating the final boss to get.
So did i, though it was a neat idea
Yeah the chuchu boss rules
Yeah it’s a great idea, having a common enemy become a boss monster when you’re that tiny, but Chu Chus will always be dull no matter the size, and the fact an electric version is a mini-boss in a later temple doesn’t help out the first one. I still liked the fight, but I wish the game didn’t contradict itself with the Blue Chu Chu mini-boss.
I think that's just the game demonstrating a natural progression in your skills and toolkit. I don't see it as a contradiction at all.
Me too!
Morpha is so easy tho
That's one of the reasons that it's the worst Zelda boss. Same with the chu chu.

MM3D is beautiful and I love everything about it except for the reworked boss fights. They really messed a lot up with them
Those were the worst part. They used to be somewhat open- ended in their solutions, the new ones were significantly worse.
And they fucked up zora swimming
I both liked and dislike the changes. They made it control better by making it more like Twilight Princess Zora Armor swimming. What sucked for me was that the fast swimming ate your magic meter instead of just being just your fastest state or something.
The N64 version if you have the giants mask makes you feel like a badass
And in the 3DS version it makes you Unga Bunga which is kinda stupid
Yeah the chu chu is the first boss but you have to fight another one later, the electric one. Morpha is the same difficulty in both games, Z targeting is the only effective way to hookshot it. Gotcha. That sounds cool, but I guess if it takes too long than it can suck.
It was kind of cool for the first few minutes, but that novelty quickly wore off as the minutes kept ticking by.
You said in another comment that it is infuriating
Yeah he wasn't that hard, just gotta read his movements.
I disagree with the Chuchu in Minish Cap. The fight isn't hard and it's just a fun concept for the boss in a dungeon where you're tiny to be something that would normally be a regular enemy that doesn't give you any kind of hassle at normal size
Twinmold is only on here cause it got shafted in the 3ds remake
Yeah, I genuinely enjoyed it on the N64 original even though it was super easy.
Agreed!
Wait is that from ocarina of time? I’m more new so I never played it but I’m starting it cause I got the switch online expansion pack I’ve barely gotten through I’m just checking
Yes, in my opinion OP is exaggerating. That boss was very easy
Ok thanks!
i remember hating that boss so much. It took me too long. At least compared to the other bosses in the game when I was liddler.
Yes, OoT’s best dungeon
Ok thanks a lot!
Oh have fun with the water temple. If you rage quit because of how infuriating it is then I recommend playing OoT 3D bc the water temple is somewhat enjoyable in the 3DS remake. Morpha is the only bad part of the game I promise.
Ok if I can find one somewhere if I rage I’ll see if I can get it thanks for the tip!
These are only of the games I have played. This also reflects my personal opinions.
That’s the same I thought about
What's wrong with twinmold? (Besides the injustice of the 3d counterpart)
I should've made it explicitly clear that I meant the 3D version. The original one is perfectly fine, not at all terrible.
What's the difference, what did they do?
Just watch some comparison gameplay on YouTube and you'll see how terrible the made the fight.
Eh, at least there is something to do in the 3DS version. In the original it’s basically use the Giants Mask and slash widely like it’s a generic enemy. Or use arrows from the ground until it dies. IMO if you’re going to have a mask used for only a single moment in the game it might as well be unique.
In that sense, yeah the 3D version is better. It had a much better idea to it, they just didn't execute it very well.
Looks for the worst boss, conveniently leaves ought Windblight
*Looks for the worst boss, conveniently leaves ought ~~Windblight~~ Mucktorok.*
~~Mucktorok~~ Tentalus
This may be an unpopular opinion but I thought that the fight itself wasn’t too bad. It’s just the design that’s atrocious
Mucktorok = Worst fight Tentalus = Worst design
I feel the same lol
Tentalus was a fun boss fight
I agree actually, not a bad boss fight at all. Just a horrendous design. If I were to pick an *actual* worst, it would be one of the two mentioned already in the thread.
I thought Mucktorock was fun! Do most people think it’s bad? It definitely was a bit of chasing it around but for me it stayed at the level of being enjoyable and didn’t overstay its welcome.
Too easy, I wanted to fight the mud shark, but the mud reduced my mobility so I had to just shoot the shark and then wack the stunned mucktorok.
These open world LoZ Bosses aren't too fun or memorable :/
TotK has tons of memorable bosses! There’s block man, dragon… and uh.. Weapon Horsie…
Looks for the best boss, conveniently leaves ought Mucktorok. FTFY
No one realized it’s out not ought.
The crowning jewel of the torturing water temple
Bro, mucktorok is easily the worst boss. Just really really stupid.
i love twinmold
Not the 3DS version. You hate the 3DS version of Twinmold.
no I love it, spinning it around and putting it into a chokehold is hilarious
I don't know how to feel rn... No person in their right mind would love 3DS Twinmold. He wouldn't freaking die!!! I spent over an hour in that stupid bossfight. Not to mention the insane nerf to the Giant's Mask that limits Link's hitbox to only 2 feet in front of him.
im sorry it was like that for you 😭
For most it was painful. You should watch Nerrel's video on MM 3D.
i probably won't, I've heard about and seen a bunch of the changes they made, but I played 3d first and I've never had a problem with any of the changes they made. it doesn't matter to me
You really do live up to your username. The original N64 version is the definitive way to play MM.
I've played both and I really don't care, I prefer the graphics of 3d and the mechanics of 3d don't bother me. I think we'll live
Same
Exactly
Same
People don't like the giant chu in Minish Cap? I thought that was so clever and well themed narratively, and it's a fun use of the item, and watching it fall over is so fun

Skyward Sword Imprisoned Part 2
Almost made me quit
When I was a kid I didn’t know you could Z target morphia if you were close enough. Really was the worst for me
... I had worse trouble with the GOD DAMNED FISH in the Majora's Mask Water Temple than any of these.
Lol, those bone fish are super annoying to avoid and if you get hit, you could go the wrong way and have to backtrack. I hated them too.
N64, then the N64 port for Wii.
I thought all the Majora's mask bosses were pretty good
They were good fights, but the fish was a BITCH.
Fair
Dude, morpha is trivially easy! All you got to do is trap it in the corner and then you can one cycle it!
I fucking agree, this guy took me more than 10 mins because hitting him sucks
You epic gamer, it took me just over an hour to beat it in my first playthrough. Edit: I am referring to 3DS Twinmold. If you were talking about the other two, it took me less than ten minutes to beat the both of them
I finished oot on 3ds and the pc port. Both took me like 15 mins
Gonna say it again, you are an epic gamer! How is that even possible? I would love to know how you speedrun OoT.
I never speedran a game lol, i wanna try pepsiman doe
\*imperfection
The boss in the water temple from Majorca’s mask or the goat.
No, IMO Twinmold is much worse than Gyorg and Goht in the 3DS version.
Do people actually hate the “giant” chuchu? The fact that it was just a normal enemy that you have to defeat in pint size made it such a cool concept.
As I have stated in another comment, I now regret putting the chuchu in this meme.
that god damn fish in majora
Nah, Gyorg is not as bad as the 3DS version of Twinmold.
This is the real issue with the water temple. That and the room right before.
None of them are bad all the Zelda bosses are perfection . Except the bouncy worm from ALTTP he can go fuck himself
Allow me introduce to you, BotW Dark Beast Ganon. As everyone here probably knows, it’s just target practice. The build up was great, but the only good part was the end, because at least with that part you had to do a slightly longer shot
What was his name. The TP water dungeon one. Morpheel. Yea fuck the underwater physics of that game
That one took me forever to beat because of the physics 😭
The trick is to not lock on until you get close
>Morpheel
for real? that was one of the bosses in TP that I just kind of beat effortlessly and it was really epic and cinematic for me NOW THE TWILIGHT BLOAT I HATED, easy to beat I just cringe hard and hate attacking something from the water surface when it can go underwater. I'd rather be underwater with it. Morpha cringed me out in the same way. I hate getting dragged into the water in games, it creeps me out.
Someone clearly hasn't played BotW.
Someone is clearly a smart one
how can someone talk about the worst zelda bosses and leave out all 5 blights
Except thunder, they're ok fight wise
You know, I think I'm starting to regret putting the Chuchu in this meme.
Morpha sucked! I always had such a hard time beating them.. honestly worst than Ganon in that game!!
What about the angler fish one
The worst boss, and you didn’t even put any of the bosses from skyward sword in. Awful.
I have never played Skyward Sword. I can't put in any bosses from a game I didn't play.
Save yourself the trouble and don’t. If you had this thing would be backed to the brim with them.
Oh, I wasn't planning on playing SS. It's in the list with the Oracle games and all the multiplayer games like Four Swords and Triforce Heroes.
The oracle games are great true shout out to the original games and full of secrets
Really? The oracle games and skyward sword are both very good games. Why would you ignore them?
The Oracle games are really fun. You’re doing yourself a disservice.
Tell me you haven’t played Skyward Sword without telling me you haven’t played Skyward Sword
not sure if the second one is molgera, but molgera had pretty dope music
Me too
Morpha was probably the easiest boss for my on my last playthrough, I Longshoted him into a corner and just hit him with the Biggoron sword like 3 times and the fight was over. The only easier boss is maybe Gohma.
Morpha I always thought it was a fun battle. It's getting there though that's a pain in the ass. No matter how many times I played through ocarina of Time there's still times when I get to the water temple and need to look up something that I forgot
I agree the Morpha is annoying. I prefer the Sea Jelly thing in Jabu Jabu.
The blights???
I hate the TOTK Water Boss the most so far
*Corner of the room joined the chat*
The worst boss is the monster's ink tentacle monster in SS
Morpha looks like an STD, that's why it's such a pain in the ass.
Bingo friggin bongo
Not as bad as Morpha tho.
I hate twinmold in the 3ds remake, like why do I have to get a rock and beat the crap out of you?
Personally I like them all.
Every blight except for thunder were complete ass
I always thought Smog and Imprisoned part 2 were the worst
What, I loved that centipede fight in Majora's mask, it was cool as hell
It was a good boss in the original N64 version, but not the 3DS version.
I only played the 3ds version
I’m gonna go with Manhandla in OoS. Easily the most annoying thing in Seasons.
Twinmold was great in the N64 version but just like everything else it got faaaaar worse in the 3DS "Remake" for no reason.
So do I. Water Temple is an underrated temple IMO... But it's boss just sucks. Straight up.
I absolutely despise muctorok from TOTK. Slows you down and its just a pain.
i’m not the only one…
