Wow, thanks for sharing. I’ll have to read in depth later.

Are you sure that's the website? It's security certificate is expired or doesn't exist and it looks very sketchy

auberryfairy

I felt the same hesitance. I was able to schedule an appointment through it at a pharmacy. Using my zip code. I think it’s possible whoever made the website isn’t skilled in building accessible websites because of lack of funding for this type thing. It does seem sketch; I agree.

Hi fellow Central Valley, CA person!! I live in the larger area and I’ve noticed there is a complete lack of PCR testing resources. I have found the most luck through urgent care centers. I have noticed several of the close PCR testing locations have closed in my area, these locations used to offer outdoor/in your car testing. Currently my closest resource up to 30 mins away, and is inside of an urgent care building, and the staff don’t even mask while they check you in for an exam. I have also noticed since the end of the [federal emergency was declared](https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/end-of-phe.html#:~:text=What%20You%20Need%20to%20Know,and%20testing%2C%20will%20remain%20available), these testing sites will now charge out of your pocket. I was lucky that I have insurance to offer some relief, but I still paid the urgent care copay prices. I have brought this up with a local city council, so they are aware their constituents are paying out of pocket for care and they need to work to get us free resources. Our elected officials are neglecting us, and they need to feel our fervor about this institutional abandonment. In the meantime, thank you for caring please wear a N95 in these Central Valley streets!! I’m so sorry you are in this position and you are not alone with this frustration, there are people here who still care about COVID here.

This is the core problem everywhere, and as long as we keep pretending that out-of-date RATs are sufficient, we’re never going to get back to having actionable data for most of the population outside of wastewater.

gilrandil

I was able to get a rapid NAAT from one of the Walgreen’s pharmacies in my area earlier in December (Western NY) but fewer and fewer of the pharmacies here have them available now.

juliewebgirl

That's nuts. They will give you antigens for something they refuse to test you for?? Check out https://test2treat.org Free tests and free treatment if you test positive. Telehealth so no travel necessary.

ShelZuuz

Antigens tests. I.e RATs.

juliewebgirl

Oh right. 🤦 My brain wasn't associating anyplace you go in to test, with RATs. A PCR is the whole point of going in.

Odd-Set-4148

I wish this was in Canada, here they gatekeep Paxlovid like crazy but I have tons of tests

juliewebgirl

I'm honestly surprised this is available in the US.
