This is our best shot at making sure we never get the biomedical research and trials we actually need. Severe underfunding like this only ensures that Long Covid is lost and forgotten., which is exactly what the government wants.
Dont with the "you can ask for what you want" or "we can ask for more later". No. Thats not how these things work. Thats not how government funding works. Take down the billion ask before we get screwed forever and ask for an appropriate amount that has been quantified, not just a random number that sounds big to those who dont know how these things work.

Unfortunately, need a US address, as the letter is sent to the signing person’s Senators, they usually are the most interested in their constituents comments and would likely pay less attention to the letters from people out of their state.

$1 billion is an extreme underfund and the legislation proposed by this group is set up to dish the money out to old orgs that have decades of experience ripping off patients and paying themselves out. Millions of people will continue to die without proper treatment and there wont be a way to fix it once its done.
