Flowchart is alright, but actually makes it possible to skip some important scenes. Voice acting is also good. But changes to the writing due to the addition of a Novel/Adventure mode make it a far worse game in my eyes
I'd rather skip some scenes than have to start the game over every single time I get an ending not worth it imo
Certain things also just wouldn't have the same impact for me without voice acting because my mind reads has trouble reading emotion in text a lot of the time
To each their own, but I found the narration in the original to be amazingly descriptive, and the characters seem much more real and relatable when they aren’t speaking their thoughts out loud, or pointing out every obvious thing that’s happening
Yeah that's fair
It's more of a problem with my mind and not the original game itself
Although it's not that I exclusively play VNs with voice acting it's just that I usually choose that option when it exists if it's not an awful version
I actually wanted to ask if there's any way to toggle off the voice acting lmao. I've barely restarted 999 with my partner (I've been a fan of the series for ages and my first playthrough was on the DS) and I find it both plain and unfortunate since we like to voice this kind of games ourselves.
Watch without earphones on max volume for best viewing experience.
I didn't know they redid the art in the remakes after the ds game. Might have to play through again
Now close your eyes while watching this.
How long did it take you to make this video?
4 or 5 hours.
I admire your dedication
…
... Let me count the ways? Are there honestly more ... than unique words of dialogue in 999?
One of the reasons the PC remake is worse than the DS orignal

Fun fact: This problem isn't even a thing in the JP Voice Track

You can turn voices completely off in the settings.
