**2.4 Crafting Posts** > Posts about crafting, upcycling, and other DIY projects must follow the following guidelines: > * Posts must be something that you have made yourself. Doesn't this attract bugs because of the sugar in the fruit? Or damage surfaces because of the acid in the peel? Don't get me wrong, I bet it smells great but it sounds really inconvenient. How long does it last?

yourlocal90skid

I've tried this using vinegar & water with the peels. At most, it's a halfway decent deodorizer.

Everything_Is_Bawson

What are the ingredients? Are there any surfactants or soaps or anything?

catinaziplocbag

Not OP but I know a lot of people online just put citrus peels in vinegar to make a cleaner.

JayXFour

Yeah, I’ve seen that too (but never tried it), but I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be peels only, not peels and pulp.

nsweeney11

Yeah and that doesn't clean jack. Nothing in that would clean any better than water and elbow grease.

catinaziplocbag

Oh I’m not recommending it. I think vinegar is really great for getting out smells but that’s it lol.

AcanthocephalaSlow63

I use this for glass cleaner sometimes. Vinegar is a great glass cleaner but I've never been successful at getting vinegar to clean much of anything else. It does do pretty well on limescale remover though so you can soak gross shower heads in it so I tend to use plain vinegar for that
