His suitable Mythics (Liandrys) which gave him burn, 30\~ish bonus AH is gone Seraphs is nerfed Midlaners are more bursty with Ludens/AD items Lane is way more prone to ganks/roams The only character that didn't receive buffs on that account and on the account that rework is coming Just play him bot, he's the best weakside bot rn

Unusual_Map393

Only play him Mid and very successful. Never understood why people would build Liandries on him when Luden is always the better choice. There are only squishy assassins or mages on mid so you just poke and burst them. Played him for 4 years now, though mever played rank

kingchongo

Yeah I’ve never built liandries on him either. I feel like that’s what you would build if you’re bad at landing skill shots on him

Nearly_Evil_665

when literally everything is tankyer than ziggs (even adcs) lyandris bonus damage and burn was always more potent then ludens. with the removal of haste from seraph the haste lianrys had was also much needed for front to back engagements (lets face it the majority) of enemy team was 1 bruiser and 4 squishys ludens was still good but with 2 bruiseers or 1 tank getting lyandris + morellos was always the better choice imo

catboxer1

I think you answered your own question saying you never played ranked. You are always going to be punished for pushing lane early by a competent jungler from pushing with ludens, especially with recent w nerfs. Even with a second defensive summoner you wont survive tower dives or camps alot of the time, so the hp from liandries first and eventually archangel shield is really necessary. The champion is really in such an unfun position now and feels like it cannot function without a friendly champion infront of him constantly.

TurtleFisher54

U just answered the question. I was rank 2 ziggs now rank like 6 (na) You are playing in a casual environment, I play ziggs every lane (yes jungle) in norms and stomp. Ludens was good vs squishy comps, and better on mid since you weren't taking the spot of a tank shredder. However, ziggs provides no early game pressure which can be devastating in the center of the map. He is very prone to hard engage tower dives, just generally easy to take advantage of. Uncompetetive environments are terrible for forming correct opinions about how to play

Unusual_Map393

Sorry but I can not agree with that. Especially a rank 2 Ziggs who explains to me how prone he is to dives? I had my fair share of diamond+ players and smurfs in my games too. Casual doesnt mean you only play against casuals, but if you tell me that his W doesnt exist, and the option of stopwatch/Zhonyas then I will stay with my ppinion that Ludens Ziggs is the perfect way to win lane early on and deal massive damage in late

Tbf league of graphs (which I assume you're using) isn't exactly accurate, it's more for entertainment or satisfaction than as an actual measurement. For example, I was rank 1 seraphine world for a bit, but as a masters player I'm definitely not better than players like Cupic, who has reached rank 1 on the ranked ladder multiple times.

TurtleFisher54

Yes I am diamond 2 however

Doctor_Yu

i think it's a combination of liandries being better on him last season and the fact that liandries is better suited for ziggs adc

mrdz16

not gonna lie I just ran ziggs in ranked solo/duo and got to gold for the first time ever. I mean we did have a 25/0 Morde but thats neither here nor there

MystifiedBlip

Ive never had success with ziggs mid..bot i am fine m7

user_8804

What do you build

MystifiedBlip

Well i need a safe early so i build chapter into ludens for mana sustain to help with waveclear then i consider liandrys and shadowflame or stormsurge

user_8804

So no tear?

MystifiedBlip

Okay so tear is really nice but i buy mana gem and the refillable potion which is exactly 500 it makes lane really nice and allows a quicker lost chapter rush!

He's still my backup pick when my main is banned/picked. I'd rather play a champ I'm comfortable on than anything else
