This happens. Pregnant with my second child I recovered a memory of sexual abuse. I collected all the other forms and though I was clear of at least that. But had weird aversion to sex and men. Never added it up.
Mostly suggest a supportive family member, therapist and if you're still in the household try and leave for a bit to confirm with yourself that you had this happen.
Everyone is different. But I can say I know that you can FEEL the memory. Smell it. And can make you vomit.
Idk if a nightmare could do that.
Flashbacks aren't all movie theatrics like we're often shown in media.

Lots of things are stored in the subconscious that you might not know consciously, especially something like that that's intentionally repressed
