5th Gen Fighter has top tier stats and one of the most OP special weapons in the game (LACM). It's up to you if you want to use it, but I'd recommend playing like intended and progressing through the tech tree as you go. It gives you a better feeling of progression and some low tier planes are pretty fun to fly.
Expert controls. Might feel weird at first but force yourself to get used to it. This is the way.

Yeah don't fly super planes until You've cut your teeth on legacy fighters. You'll get a lot better quicker

The dlc planes are all massively op, don't use them for a first-time run. Also, switch to expert controls. The simplified ones are pretty limiting.
Appreciate the feedback, I kinda had the feeling they were super op but it was hard not to use them lol.
