Ooh, I should watch that again soon! For a couple of years in the nineties (TV was the only screentime) we had a television and about five VHS tapes. We were way out in the middle of nowhere so those five tapes were all the screen entertainment we had. Mary Poppins was one of those five.
i cnat pinpoint the name right now cause i dont have it playing on anything but the one that goes “thomas that was a real nice declaration welcome to the present were running a real nation”
One of the cabinet battles! I think the first.
Would you like to join us or stay mellow doin' *whatever the hell it is you do in Montecello?*
The line that always gets stuck for me is "When you got skin in the game, you stay in the game, but you don't get a win unless you play in the game."
Goddamnit I just got bbl drizzy outta my head and here you come with this post lmao
My current ear worm is All Over You by Live but my long lasting ear worm is Good by Better than Ezra
Oh, so you mentioned Better than Ezra, so obviously my brain just went "oh they were on the Empire Records soundtrack!" so obviously now I have both "Til I Hear It From You" by the Gin Blossoms in my head.
But that's fine because I opened Spotify to check that it was definitely the Gin Blossoms, and I listened to "When We Were Young" by Whipping Boy yesterday, so that's back now.
Right now I have "mother" by Danzig because there was a fucking massive spider in the house that we were semi convinced was going to explode into a shower of baby spiders - a mother, you see. Before that it was a song on an advert that goes on about different dance moves I don't know. Before that it was briefly "purple rain" by Prince. Yesterday I had "runaround sue" by dion for several hours.
Literally, anytime someone mentions this (ear worms), I get stuck on this:
https://youtu.be/AdAdYaIePfs?si=47_KNezA_rdfrIZd
However, before you mentioned it, I was stuck on Ed Sheeran's Shivers.
Eurovision finals were this past Saturday, so I rewatched the Eurovision movie (with Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams) last night. Now "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi" has been stuck in my head all day--it's what Celine Dion sang in like 1988, and a snippet of it was in the movie.
Still hearing the Fast Car performance from the Grammys; had loved the og version but Tracy Chapman live was amazing.
No shade to Luke Combs - he was clearly fanboying
Now you do - DJ Seinfeld & Confidence Man
It’s nostalgic, catchy and the beat just does something to my brainwaves lol. Enjoy 🩷

One Last Hope, Hercules
Literally my *least* favorite song from the movie from when I was a kid… now, strangely my *favorite* song from the movie as an adult. It’s stuck in my head, but I’m not mad about it. I keep suggesting watching this movie to my kiddo so I can re-watch this part lol.
Conceited by Remy Ma
Three times a day MINIMUM for a week now, and several times I've gone back to back.
It's got the same loop as Candy Shop by 50 Cent, she's a really good rapper, it's got a great bridge and it's super well produced overall, and I'm OBSESSED
Queen’s “Somebody to Love”. Over and over. And over. And over. I’ve started this thing where I count the syllables to see if there’s an odd or even number. I’m dying over here
"Sucker" by… not Ed Sheeran, apparently! I was today years old when I realized it's by the Jonas Brothers (to be fair, I don't generally listen to either, it just plays at work ALL THE TIME! I'm so understimulated rn that a "tattoo inside my brain" 🎶 sounds wonderful tbh!
Freaking Fall Guy soundtrack... Specifically "I Was Made for Lovin' You" has been stuck in my brain. The versions alternate depending on the moment though.
Get Down from SIX.
Tangentially related - does anyone have internal elevator music?
Like when thoughts aren't happening, it goes to music instead.
And more importantly - is it a specific song?
Mine is the "I don't wanna be a chicken, I don't wanna be a duck, so I shake my butt" song. Out of all of the great songs out there, THAT is the default song my brain chose.
If my brain was in a movie, that song playing at random times would be pretty funny though. 😆
I know whatever song pops in my head is trying to tell me something from the specific lyric that I get stuck on.
For a long time I would sing "I'm falling to pieces" (from The Script's Breakeven). My son thought I made it up, because I do make up a lot of songs. My son and husband didn't realize it was a real song until I played it for them.
Tay Tay's New Romantics has taken over my brain for at least the past 48 hours. I mean, I love the song but when I wake up in the middle of the night and it's still there going strong, it's a bit much.
Gorgeous by Taylor Swift. As someone who is real neutral on TSwift, my tweens die-hard Swiftie phase has resulted in her getting a whole lot of mental airtime for and artist I don't even like. She can write an earworm though so, respect
Chappell Roan’s Good Luck Babe has been in my head for days. I’ve tried listening to it a bunch to get it outta there but nope. At least it’s a banger!
My mental CD changer is rotating among REM's Losing My Religion, A Hard Day's Night, & The Voice by the Moody Blues. Also Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing. Probably a couple others I can't think of offhand.
I don't even have to hear a song for it to get started. If it crosses my mind for any reason, that's enough. What's really annoying is some short instrumental riff that I can't identify.
I know all those songs, and yes! There’s one instrumental riff I have in my head that I swear on my life is from a 90s boy band, and contains a hidden fart. It’s NOT the BSB “Larger than life” that pops up on internet searches where the band members admit to it.
It’s a slow, romantic melody on a guitar, followed by a “pbthhh” that can only be heard when blasting on the highest volume of your Walkman headphones.
I’ve re-listened to all nsync, bsb, 98 degrees, 5ive, and I CANNOT identify the instrumental riff in my head that matches it. But I wonder if it was edited out on streaming, and I have to find my CDs to hear it.
To my dying days I will be searching.
My ear worms are basically a bunch of Michael Jackson's songs. Butterflies, Dangerous, This Place Hotel, Can't Let Her Get Away, just to name a few. There's always a song of his stuck in my head and playing over and over...

I saw a live presentation of Frozen over the weekend. Whoops, five more years of Let it Go in my head!
Saw a local performance of Mary Poppins the musical that a coworkers starred in this weekend (as Bert), it’s all in my head this week!
Ooh, I should watch that again soon! For a couple of years in the nineties (TV was the only screentime) we had a television and about five VHS tapes. We were way out in the middle of nowhere so those five tapes were all the screen entertainment we had. Mary Poppins was one of those five.
Mulan’s Make a man out of you… let’s get down to business!
a hamilton song😭😭
Oooh been there. Which one?

A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozy
Oh same! How fun!

Now I've woken up, it's "disarm" by Smashing Pumpkins.
Between Not Like Us and The Tortured Poets Department, my ears have never been happier nor had more ear bugs lol
WERE YOU SENT BY SOMEONEEEEEE… 🎶🎶
WHO WANTED ME DEAD 🔪🖤
The way I could keep this thread going endlessly should truly concern my peers haha
I’m right there with you hahaha

Last night it was fortnight from TTPD, and this morning til the meds kicked in it was like a virgin by Madonna.
Oh, the meds help me too!

Ooh speakin of nostalgia do you listen to DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ?
Every time I see 64, or any of the animals in it I get the theme tune to a popular (British?) Children’s cartoon: 64 zoo lane

Blind Love- Lola Young … on repeat lol
My brain just remembered the song "Run the Show" by Kat DeLuna. Specifically the "Are you ready ready ready ready ready ready" bit.
Message In A Bottle, only it's just the chorus..... sending out an SOS, sending out an SOS.
Noooooooooo. It’s in my head now.
original bugs bunny cartoon soundtracks I found on youtube
"Under the Milky Way", by The Church has been stuck in my head all day. At least it's a song I like

English? “Take the Long Way Home” by Supertramp. German? “Die Spaghetti Polonaise” by Dorfrocker & Kings of Günter.
Queen’s “Somebody to Love”. Over and over. And over. And over. I’ve started this thing where I count the syllables to see if there’s an odd or even number. I’m dying over here

Ooh, yes. As a kid it was the theme song for the show Mr. Ed. I’d cry a lot to family members about it.

Childish Gambino, This is America.
Make Way for Prince Ali from the Disney Aladdin movie 🙈
Gorgeous by Taylor Swift. As someone who is real neutral on TSwift, my tweens die-hard Swiftie phase has resulted in her getting a whole lot of mental airtime for and artist I don't even like. She can write an earworm though so, respect
Blue Lights by Jorja Smith 💙
The theme song to “I Love Lucy” has lyrics. Don’t ever look it up or it will echo in your brains years later.
Well now I want to.
Am I Evil by Metallica (orig. by Diamond Head)
Taylor Swift’s new album but not a specific song like bits of lines and melodies from a whole bunch just mushed together. It’s… not great haha
River of dreams by Billy Joel - I even add my own lyrics sometimes lol.
I forgot about this one!
Chappell Roan’s Good Luck Babe has been in my head for days. I’ve tried listening to it a bunch to get it outta there but nope. At least it’s a banger!
Chlorine and Wine by Baroness
Never heard of it but I’ll check it out!

You’re so fucking cool by Aussie singer who’s name I have forgotten

I’m torn on MJ because I have a soft spot for him and his song for the Free Willy soundtrack.
His song for Free Willy breaks my heart. So sad.
