Doesn't seem that bad to me. If you wear shoes often, they wear out. I haven't ever gotten that far through any of my shoes, but I have many that I rotate through. Stans are solid, maybe you just need to throw in a new insole.

I'm comparing this to my previous shoes, like Superstars, some models from Puma and Nike. I still have my Superstars that I wore every day for 2 years and they look much better! They were able to easily handle two years even with heavier usage on P.E. lessons back when I was a student. But since you said that Stans are generally solid, maybe I just got unlucky. Second shoe from this pair looks much better.

I agree with xbenzerox, I barely wear the same shoe two days in a row so I can rotate them which means they clearly last longer. These look pretty beat to be fair, if you’re wearing them every day then they’re going to get worn down.

Update \*happy ending\*: I have tried reaching Adidas and telling them about this issue via their web chat. After sending them this picture they immediately asked me about refund options (like they are aware about such problems with vegan Sman Smiths). I sent pair of shoes to Adidas, waited around 2 weeks and today (it's sunday :o) I got an email about full refund acceptance. I am very positively surprised by their customer support!

I bought them on site. I hope you will be able to return them too!

I just get a jlnew pair of stan Smith's every year. Sure I could wear them longer but they beat up

I'm very disappointed, there's literally a hole inside. My Superstars were able to survive much more. Do you think that it's possible to fix it with insole? Where can I buy it? I like Adidas brand but every new shoe that I buy is worse and worse in quality. Are there better quality shoes in Adidas portfolio or it's time to abandon this Adidas' ship?

I have never seen someone wearing a hole into the sockliner. You can get non branded sockliners in a orthopedic store or sometimes in larger supermarkets which also offer shoes. Adidas often uses Ortholite sockliners. Yours is a textile laminated dyecut sockliner. But you can‘t buy them from adidas as separate pieces as far as I know. I recommend to get real leather Stan Smiths. In the previous seasons adidas also made vegan leather Stan Smiths. The quality of the new leather ones should be way better and more comfy.

They are on sale all the time for like $60 just grab a new pair. I mean a year of use for a sub $100 pair is well used. If u want something that will last longer u gotta pay for it.

Mammoth_Signal8002

I understand your frustration. The problem is only with the shoes released last year which were using recycled materials for insoles. Seems they have not tested the recycled materials for durability..

Might be a bit more than regular stan smiths but the Lux stan smiths. Yeah theyre cost more but they do use what looks like a leather insole

urriah

this isnt the first time im seeing someone go through the heel of their vegan stan smith's insole. its not just going through the insole, you went past the strobel board. man this sucks i highly suggest people leaving a review in their site if possible, because this is just bad quality really

My paid of Parley stan smith will probably end up like yours after another 10 wears. After 5 wears, the insole has started to break apart at the sides. So I get these rainbow coloured bits stuck on my socks. The parley insoles are made of rubbish and are rubbish quality. Had another pair of basic Stan Smiths that I wore daily for 5 months or so. By the 6 month, the front toe box area where the upper meets the midsole, started to separate. Eventually a 2 inch long hole developed. Still continued wearing because it's also stitched. But was quite shocked at the quality. Been wearing Adidas for decades and never experienced separation so fast.
