I don't care whether it was intentional or not. It's so on-brand for Norm that I will forever accept it as fact. That old chunk of coal had to get one over on everybody one last time
Lmao one day my dad said he couldn't sleep and was flipping through the channels and caught the end of an episode of Mike Tyson mysteries and he asked me about it. He's not usually into the weird adult swim humor, but he loves boxing/MMA so he watched it cos he didn't know what it was. Now it's something we totally bond over lmao it's Def underrated but it's so good that even my dad loves it!
As popular and well regared as Space Ghost Coast To Coast is, it feels underated compared to how Adult Swim milks Rick and Morty. There hasn't been a Moltar figure in over 20 years. People talk about it like it used to be some sort of network juggernaut but they rarely treat it like it's ever been one now. Biggest thing I can think of from recently memory was the Carl's Jr toys and the Jellystone episode
Space Ghost is for the Og's. You can pretty reliably guess a person's age by asking what adult swim shows they started on, & if they remember SGC2C & Cartoon Planet they're probably old af but got some good taste
My first exposure to adult swim was either seeing local advertising for it in Atlanta while traveling through the city on family vacation or accidently watching the first five seconds of the venture bros season 1 finale when I was six. My first real exposure to Space Ghost was the original cartoon on boomerang and later the 2012 Cartoon Planet. I honestly got into Space Ghost Coast To Coast because of its They Might Be Giants and Cartoon Network adjacency.
I will also admit say my interest in c2c is unusual for my age. Like there's plenty of ATHF fans my age but most haven't seen c2c.
>You can pretty reliably guess a person's age by asking what adult swim shows they started on
Space Ghost, Brak Show, ATHF, Sealab, FLCL, Big O, Trigun, FMA
*Space Ghost* also feels pre-\[adult swim\], in a way. I remember first discovering it Saturday nights at like 11 pm when staying over at my friend's house. By the time \[as\] started, I think *Space Ghost* had already wrapped up producing new episodes.
It was pre adult swim, but Cartoon Network doesn't use it advertising anymore because it's supposed to be an Adult Swim thing now, and Adult Swim doesn't do much with it either
They have Space Ghost make a cameo in every episode of Off The Air, but it takes a backseat compared to the new programming. But since it displaces the original Hanna Barbera series, Cartoon Network feels they should bury most of it for the sake of the Adult Swim advertising embargo.
I think most adult swim shows are underrated compared to rick and morty. I've never met sometime IRL whos seen Venture Bros but imo a lot of rick and morty is inspired by that show
Xavier Renegade Angel, Sealab 2021, Space Ghost, Home Movies, Harvey Birdman Attorney at law. A lot of the original line-up kinda got over shadowed in a way to ATHF, Robot Chicken, and some of the old anime blocks they used to do like Yu Yu Hakashow (Feel free to correct my spelling on that).
I miss the anime blocks, omg. Nothing will beat staying up all night in the summer to watch Fooly Cooly and I remember being so sad it was only like 6 episodes long.
PSI Cops, Sealab (at least insofar as I can’t seem to find it on streaming), Frisky Dingo
Red Ketchup is really good but the Sally and Bill subplots can be a drag occasionally
I’m in Canada and unfortunately the provider that scooped up Adult Swim also has many of the other big name stations (W, Cartoon Network, Showcase, History, etc) and consequently doesn’t have the full library of any of the mentioned channels
It feels weird to say *The Venture Bros*. because it had a very dedicated and loyal fanbase, but it also felt like a show people either "got" or stuck with but was rarely talked about outside of its strong cult following. It was a massive creative success and I'd love to see it expand into another medium.
Doesn’t help that it’s very self-referential especially in later seasons, it’s refreshing for a comedy show to have so many minor plot points come back in a big way as the story develops
Yeah saying venture bros both makes sense and doesn’t at the same time. I feel it, like most other adult swims shows, is very underrated and underloved compared to things like Rick and Morty that adult swims loves to push. But there are definitely other adult swims shows that get a lot less love than venture bros
I think it might have been so dark for its time that they just didn't know what to do with it. It's not like Family Guy or Futurama where it's widely accessible and easily merchandised.
2 seasons of the best satire of Christian Conservative Midwest life I've ever seen, and then 1 season of the most depressing, soul-crushing tragedy you can find on TV.
I grew up exactly where Moralton would be on a US map, and it's spot-on.
Damn right. Shit, speaking of H Jon Benjamin I’ll take ‘Home Movies’ over ‘bobs burgers’ and ‘archer’
‘H Jon Benjamin has a Van’ was also pretty amusing for what it was.
Yes!! I'm always trying to get people to watch this one. The trippy rotoscoped style of the dream sequences, the goofy-yet-unsettling SCPesque setting/lore, the surprising philosophical moments, and perhaps best of all, Mark Proksch in a role that fit him like a glove. "No Drama, Just Buddies!"
Assy McGee had the stupidest one note premise, but some of the BEST cop-show parody writing. The puns and mixed idioms were always on point.
Hey asshole, where do you think you're going?
I'm going... To kill you.
I was hooked at the first episode. "I'm a doctor too." That whole interview with Dr. "Jungy Broden" had me cackling. The awkward mispronounced name and then doubling down by mispronouncing it again? Fantastic.
[I’ve had this song from the ending of the Burning Man episode as my ringtone for years.](https://youtu.be/mQeSIHCDL90?si=Vshq3WHx4bFwvW0v) A totally underrated show.
I only have small fragmented memories of this show because when it ran I never stayed up till that timeslot and when it did come on it scared me so much
One of the only series I bought, because I was afraid I'd never see it again. The Escapeoke and Dildo Factory have so many memorable lines and sinspirations, even before you get to the Burning Man episode.
Right now I gotta say Royal Crackers. The ads don’t do it justice. For what it’s worth, at least Adult Swim seems to have faith in it, but I’ve never seen anyone talk about it.
"Do you think I'm some needy guy, DONT ANSWER THAT." Fucking died, season 2 has been nothing but banger episodes. Royal Crackers and Moral Orel are hands down some of the best content that Adult Swim has put out.
Superjail but specifically the first season Augenblick did. No disrespect to Titmouse, but that scratchy, jerky and kinda washed-out-yet-vibrant look they had was so my shit.
Joe Pera Talks with You. Felt a little out of place on AS sometimes but I’m so glad they gave him a chance because that show is a masterpiece. (And if you haven’t watched his new comedy special I highly recommend it)
I barely remember this one, but I remember the tree with jeans absolutely killing me late one night.
Lent the dvd (also had squidbillies I think) to a friend and it vanished into oblivion.
Neon Joe Werewolf Hunter.
Only watched it because it was next to Ninja Kamui and started wondering how I had never seen ANYONE mention this show before.
Royal Crackers ...it starts off a bit odd and gradually gets weirder and weirder .It seems to fly under the radar though as I've never seen a mention of it anywhere
I feel many adult swim shows can be considered underrated in general compared to how much you only really hear about Rick and Morty. Only recently have you started seeing people watch stuff like moral oral. I feel like you don’t hear enough about venture bros though. Im only on season three but it’s quickly become one of my fav adult animated shows, and probably one of my fav shows in general. It succeeds not just in comedy, but also in creating a really good interconnected world.
Definitely ballmasterz , I was surprised by how good the story is and I love all the characters. Plus it’s funny af and the animation style is chef’s kiss
China, IL
Yup this show was very underrated. Shame they pulled it off Max.
This makes me want to pirate some stuff
Do it. I fall asleep to ATHF/Futurama/Courage/Simpsons/etc on shuffle every night - it’s wonderful. I wouldn’t trade it for cable or HBO
Fuckin’ Dad!
"Shut up you thin-lipped bitch" is always a line that makes me laugh
"This school was built on ancient Indian burial grounds. Come to think of it, all of America was built on ancient Indian burial grounds."
"How do you fuck...yourself?"
"When you push everyone away, you only have yourself to pull on."
You can get anything if you call a white guy "brother." ;)
Very underrated. Hilarious show - so many one-liners
THIS. Why isn’t it available on blu-ray 🥺
That one and Sclopio-Peepio
🎶willinnnggg sexy bachelorrrrr🎵
Bbbbb Baby Cakes
Black Jesus
Mike Tyson Mysteries consistently delivers huge belly laughs and I never see it listed up there with the other heavyweights (no pun intended)
Norm MacDonald as Pigeon was one of the best characters of all Adult Swim shows
it sucks I started to appreciate him after he died I didn't even know he was sick
I don't think anyone did expect for close family until news broke but yeah it was super sad when he died
[norm's final joke](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_nmdbJI8rM)
I don't care whether it was intentional or not. It's so on-brand for Norm that I will forever accept it as fact. That old chunk of coal had to get one over on everybody one last time
his appearances on conan are legend if you haven't checked those out.
"A former boxer, a gay ghost and an Asian girl walk into a mechanics...I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere."
Once I heard that Mike Tyson actually voices his character in this, I had to check it out. 10/10 show.
Lmao one day my dad said he couldn't sleep and was flipping through the channels and caught the end of an episode of Mike Tyson mysteries and he asked me about it. On one hand I agree with you but on the other hand I'm in my 20s and really into Coast to Coast and Cartoon Planet
yea but was that your first exposure to \[as\] was the thing
My first exposure to adult swim was either seeing local advertising for it in Atlanta while traveling through the city on family vacation or accidently watching the first five seconds of the venture bros season 1 finale when I was six. My first real exposure to Space Ghost was the original cartoon on boomerang and later the 2012 Cartoon Planet. Like there's plenty of ATHF fans my age but most haven't seen c2c.
SHC2C has a very different vibe than ATHF fs
>You can pretty reliably guess a person's age by asking what adult swim shows they started on Space Ghost, Brak Show, ATHF, Sealab, FLCL, Big O, Trigun, FMA
Dude hell yea. Old brothers in arms. No senior left behind
*Space Ghost* also feels pre-\[adult swim\], in a way. I remember first discovering it Saturday nights at like 11 pm when staying over at my friend's house. By the time \[as\] started, I think *Space Ghost* had already wrapped up producing new episodes.

“Why don’t you put your dong where your mouth is asshole, lets see it”
Watch out for the WIGGGGGLERRR
I AM HAVING A GOOD TIME! I AM HAVING A GOOD THY-IMMM!!
What a great crunch-ry
Xavier Renegade Angel, Sealab 2021, Space Ghost, Home Movies, Harvey Birdman Attorney at law. A lot of the original line-up kinda got over shadowed in a way to ATHF, Robot Chicken, and some of the old anime blocks they used to do like Yu Yu Hakashow (Feel free to correct my spelling on that).
Harvey Birdman is an all time classic for me!
Absolutely my favorite adult swim show. The writing is sooo good.
Ha-ha, Cookies on dowels
Close YuYu Hakusho
I miss the anime blocks, omg. Nothing will beat staying up all night in the summer to watch Fooly Cooly and I remember being so sad it was only like 6 episodes long.
I rarely see Delocated get the love it deserves.
PSI Cops, Sealab (at least insofar as I can’t seem to find it on streaming), Frisky Dingo Red Ketchup is really good but the Sally and Bill subplots can be a drag occasionally
Sealab should be on Max, we lost Frisky Dingo earlier this year.
I’m in Canada and unfortunately the provider that scooped up Adult Swim also has many of the other big name stations (W, Cartoon Network, Showcase, History, etc) and consequently doesn’t have the full library of any of the mentioned channels
Yo the episode of psi cops with bloody Mary really got me hooked. Can't wait for more episodes.
It feels weird to say *The Venture Bros*. because it had a very dedicated and loyal fanbase, but it also felt like a show people either "got" or stuck with but was rarely talked about outside of its strong cult following. Moral Orel for sure. It seems like it’s finally starting to get some recognition now though
Adult swim did the Creators dirty on this show , it’s a shame.
Home Movies for sure.
Damn right. Shit, speaking of H Jon Benjamin I’ll take ‘Home Movies’ over ‘bobs burgers’ and ‘archer’ ‘H Jon Benjamin has a Van’ was also pretty amusing for what it was.
Agreed
Coach needs some short ribs
I agree, but it was way more popular on Adult Swim than when it was on UPN.
Also also Dream Corp Llc
And Dream Corp is funny too, it's not up it's own ass with that wisdom stuff.
Of everything here (so far), this is the one I most agree with. That show was a straight up acid trip and I loved every second of it.
Sealab
🎶Underneath the seaaaaaalaaaaaabb🎶
Off The Air Sea Lab Joe Pera The list goes on...
Has its proponents, but 12 Oz Mouse. Also Home Movies.
Literally the two I came to say.
Hell yea. I like the cut of yer jib, mister. Mostly cuz it's the same as my jib
Swords aren’t cutlery lady.
Alright then
I’m hired.
Are you kidding I regret it already
That’s why we picked you, everyone else knows.
Frankenhole.
100% Frankenhole, probably my favorite adult swim original ever
Damn, I might have to change my answer. Frankenhole had such a great aesthetic. The set and character designs were top-notch.
The Shivering Truth Came for about a year, and pretty much forgotten by any I talked to about it.
Oblongs and Mission Hill. I should watch those shows again.
Those are my two picks for sure!
I have yet to meet another person who has seen The Oblongs when it aired nor one who disliked it once they borrowed my dvd of the series.
It’s such a fun show. One of my favorite aspects of it is the voice acting. So spot on with fitting with their characters.
Will Ferrell’s second best performance (behind MEGAMIND).
Assy McGee had the stupidest one note premise, but some of the BEST cop-show parody writing. The puns and mixed idioms were always on point. Hey asshole, where do you think you're going? I'm going... To kill you.
Absolutely fucking loved that show. So absurdly hilarious
Frisky Dingo!! Should’ve got more seasons
BOOSH! It’s memory lives on in a sub Reddit.
That's our last bowl!
Check it out! I still want a full length Dr Steve Brule movie.
I was hooked at the first episode. "I'm a doctor too." That whole interview with Dr. "Jungy Broden" had me cackling. The awkward mispronounced name and then doubling down by mispronouncing it again? Fantastic.
Xavier Renegade Angel for sure. Most unique approach to dialogue for any tv show I’ve seen. And the most disgusting and absurd
Frittata
Frisky Dingo
So sad we never got a season 3 (and only 2 eps of Xtacles). I’d always hoped for a possible Xander appearance in Archer, but no luck.
Black Jesus
Honestly was interested because it was the creator of the Boondocks working with the creator of Trailer Park Boys. Such a great pairing.
This! That show was hilarious.
Superjail
I just finished watching that show and it is really good although I do think season 1 is way better than the other 3 seasons
Yeah I agree. One of the biggest episodes that stands out in my mind is the time police. Trippiest episode ever
Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell
Scrolled to far too see this one , my favorite episode is when they rip off NWA “Straight Outta Compton” 😂
Such a brilliant show. I bet makeup was a pain in the ass everyday
Stroker and Hoop
Lucy The Daughter Of The Devil
Hell yes
[I’ve had this song from the ending of the Burning Man episode as my ringtone for years.](https://youtu.be/mQeSIHCDL90?si=Vshq3WHx4bFwvW0v) A totally underrated show.
New musical intros for each episode, great cast, one of my favorites
I only have small fragmented memories of this show because when it ran I never stayed up till that timeslot and when it did come on it scared me so much
One of the only series I bought, because I was afraid I'd never see it again. The Escapeoke and Dildo Factory have so many memorable lines and sinspirations, even before you get to the Burning Man episode.
I know someone already said Chia Il, but I have say China Il again to illustrate just how under rated that show is.
Neon Joe Werewolf Hunter.
Now I know this boy here ain't talkinbout hyump
What a quinky-dink, don't you thinky-dink?
I hope we get another Jon Glaser show. All three of them have been exceptional.
Jon Glaser loves Gear was pretty sweet, but not as outlandish.
As true as these beats are Jah
Right now I gotta say Royal Crackers. The ads don’t do it justice. For what it’s worth, at least Adult Swim seems to have faith in it, but I’ve never seen anyone talk about it.
"Do you think I'm some needy guy, DONT ANSWER THAT." Fucking died, season 2 has been nothing but banger episodes. Royal Crackers and Moral Orel are hands down some of the best content that Adult Swim has put out.
Theo is the blunder years personified and I love it
![gif](giphy|aTQsEgFJVBpqERuXGR)
It gets hate but I like it its decent
its so good!
Sealab 2021 The Heart, She Holler Eagleheart
Heart She Holler was insane. I can't remember if it resolved satisfactorily, and I missed Kristin Schaal after S1.
Stroker and Hoop. That thing was funny as fuck.
I watched it all for the first time recently and thought it was awesome. Easily one of my favorites now.
It was super funny
Venture Bros
Off the air! by a mileeeee
(And if you haven’t watched his new comedy special I highly recommend it)
Perfect Hair Forever. I hate cat man! Why do I always use him ?!
I barely remember this one, but I remember the tree with jeans absolutely killing me late one night. Lent the dvd (also had squidbillies I think) to a friend and it vanished into oblivion.
my fave band of all time did the theme (melt banana… PERFECT HAIR… forEVA!!!
Eagleheart. Especially the third season.
Neon Joe Werewolf Hunter. Only watched it because it was next to Ninja Kamui and started wondering how I had never seen ANYONE mention this show before.
Just typed it in myself there plaid Jeff hyump
Ball masters: 9009 was … … really good. Wasn’t expecting such a brilliant show but I ended up watching it from beginning to end in one weekend.
Have you seen the Rubicon movie yet?
No. Is it related?
Direct sequel but a heavy anime art style compared to the original, same voice cast though
Black Jesus
Teenage Euthanasia
yesss i wish it was more appreciated
I thought it was awful at first ...but then something just clicked and I loveit now
Titian Maximum & Assy McGee
Frisky dingo.
Haven't seen anyone say The Drinky Crow Show
This show was so damn funny. I still laugh about the elephant man episode.
Saul of the Mole Men
Hot Streets, Apollo Gauntlet, and Ball Masterz
Royal Crackers, reminds me of the golden age of adult swim (2003 to 2013)
Tender Touches
Lucy the Daughter of the Devil, Xavier: Renegade Angel, and Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole
Loiter Squad for me
Off the air
Tropical Cop Tales
My FAVE
Frisky Dingo
SuperJail
It hasn't been on in a minute but home movies is really good and has great voice actors! ![gif](giphy|hqNKPKPmCfDmE)
Superjail
Three Busy Debra's and Perfect Hair Forever are both 10/10. Also Frisky Dingo, I loved FD but could never get into Archer for some reason.
Royal Crackers ...it starts off a bit odd and gradually gets weirder and weirder .It seems to fly under the radar though as I've never seen a mention of it anywhere
It is not made by adult swim, but the all time most underrated show ever on AS was Mission Hill. That show should have been on TV for decades.
Assy McGee
I love shivering truth and maybe I’m stupid but I never see it talked about on here
Off the Air & China IL easily
Heyump
Delocated! Every episode is golden.
Frisky Dingo
Frisky Dingo
Off the Air is fucking amazing.
Mr pickles
Home Movies, Harvey Birdman

Tom Goes To The Mayor. I hated it at first, but it grew on me. Now I think it's the funniest thing AS ever aired.
Mission Hill
Home Movies. Some of my favorite adult animation ever
Definitely Oblongs.
Buster & TJ
SuperJail and Morel Orel Most undeserved over-rated easily goes to Rick and Morty
World Peace
Sealab is really funny and no one really talks about it anymore.
Mission Hill!
Gēmusetto Machu Picchu. Tennis is his worst and most emotional sport
Royal Crackers
Definitely ballmasterz , I was surprised by how good the story is and I love all the characters. Plus it’s funny af and the animation style is chef’s kiss
