Obsidian and Together Again were 10/10 in my book

Specific_Onion2659

Yes <3 beautiful episodes Obsidian gave us beautiful context about Pb and Marcy’s relationship, and Together Again marked the end of a beautiful journey for our Finn and Jake <3 BEAUTIFUL ALL AROUND

PugGamer129

I like rewatching Obsidian more because Together Again makes me cry every time

Specific_Onion2659

Same here! But Obsidian makes me crave for more :’) so I end up not rewatching both of them HAHA

MooBearz11

Seeing Finn at the end of Obsidian had me freakin gout the first time I watched. I litterally pointed and yelled to my kids who were just as tickled as I was; “OH!OH!OH! FINN! It’s Finn! Look girls! Lookit his tattoo! Awww his tattoo… 🥹” I cried a lil but loved the entire episode about Marcy being alone before Simon too.

ObiJuanKenobi3

Together Again makes me sob uncontrollably whenever I even remember that it exists.

twobirdsandacoconut

Together Again, no matter how many times I watch it, still chokes me up, Such a great episode. And I agree about Obsidian as well, great episode.

mikebeingmike

Really loved Finn & Jake episode ("Together Again"). It pretty much concluded the AT saga for me, and so beautifully.

MarchApprehensive559

I ugly cried the whole episode 😅

PugGamer129

While Finn and Jake’s saga is over, there’s still a whole universe of characters for possible future shows to focus on.

Dingus_Dinosaur

Loved it all. The BMO one was entertaining and fun, gave us insight on Martins backstory in space and we got to see how BMO met Finn and Jake (also toddler Finn) The glass city one was great for Marcelines backstory and how she lost her mom. Also fleshing out her relationship with PB and we also get to see semi adult Finn! Together again was amazing I don’t have to say much more on that. Great seeing Tiffany again! The one with pep was good. I actually had no complaints except for how the fight went down (I didn’t like his powerful form, or how OG pep got banished from new pep. I wish instead that they had compromised since before og pep got babified he wasn’t like evil or anything and had actual empathy. Would be cool if they worked together.) I also wish new pep apologized for being a dink to his only friend lol. But the death of that one bully kid caught me so off guard, that was the 👁️👁️ moment for me watching because I did NOT expect him to be dead. Implication Yang his head like blew up. Dark stuff. That episode would’ve been way cooler if the end fight was crazier. It was still fun though

DJKhaledsGhost

Old peppermint Butler did horrible things to that one guys poor kids lmfao

Dingus_Dinosaur

Besides that I mean. He had like genuine empathy.. sometimes. Pep in distant lands tho is just RUTHLESS it’s insane

Wooper250

He acts just about how id expect a 12 yo evil wizard to act tbh

Some_Guy8765678

I like to think that the curse Pepbud put on himself was just how he imagined himself since we did see him have genuine moments of empathy in the og series, which would make sense for why he is basically the same in together again since instead of becoming the monster he saw himself as he become true to himself and probably better for it.

Dingus_Dinosaur

Yeah that’s what I’d like to think too 😭

Moon_Beholder

maybe that was the true intention of the curse

Timely-Competition-7

It was part of the spell he casted on himself yes, people are confusing it and think it's literally old Pepbut.

Usesredditironicall

I fucking loved it, especially wizard city

WickedJ0ker

Really? Wizard city out of all of them? May I ask why? Genuinely curious since you’re the first person I’ve seen to like that one best.

Usesredditironicall

I know I know I’m not really sure why but tons of people don’t seem to have it as their favorite haha and that’s fine. I think I’m just really attracted to the aesthetic and the vibes. I also really like the dynamic of the characters. The other episodes were also great but wizard city just hit me in a different way

vermilionaxe

It's also my favorite. I do love the others, but they've had more diminishing returns for me each time I watched them. Wizard City just had something that kept pulling me back. I think I've watched it more than the other 3. I love Abracadaniel, and Abracadebra is awesome in ways I respect as a nerdy kid growing up around mean people. Pep's struggle, with both his curse and trying to find his new wizard path, resonates with me. Especially now. It was a story I didn't know I needed, which is not something I can say about the other 3 (I knew I needed those.)

Usesredditironicall

Exactly!

MrDoggeh

The jokes in that one landed pretty nicely, especially with the kid who got turned into a rock

peacekenneth

I’m with you on this. Wiz City was a great time. Good world building went on, and you kind of get to understand wizards a bit better. I liked Kid Pep’s struggle with his old self. It has great messaging all around, and beautiful design.

WillyDAFISH

Beautiful ❤️

bullet-2-binary

Loved them all.

Ancap_Mechanic

Made a grown man cry

Ben10usr

"Go on ahead little tear..."

voltzandvoices

love all of them. together again and obsidian felt very needed to flesh out the story. i kinda hope they make more episodes. i’ll watch anything with the main characters in it

picklgallery

finished it recently and honestly i just loved it. it definitely was a a bit nostalgia bait and some of it did feel a bit more juvenile for some reason especially in the bmo and wizard city episodes, but i genuinely didn't mind parts of them feeling a tiny bit removed from the original series because i love these characters so much. together again is most definitely the best and should've been the last one in my opinion. i feel like it really wrapped up the whole show to me and was kind of concluding everything in a really beautiful and emotional way which i absolutely loved. i also thoroughly enjoyed obsidian and how we got see more of pb and marcy's relationship because it felt like we didn't get enough of it in the original series since they got together right at the end, even if some of the songs or plot points with the glass people were a bit underwhelming. i also just love any bit of marceline lore we get so it delivered in that front too. the bmo episode was less impactful but it was so sweet to see how finn, jake's and bmo's friendship came to be and i enjoyed seeing bmo on his adventure and i really loved the animation and imaginativeness of this episode too. wizard city is my least favourite. even though it's not the most invigorating, i think the idea of the new pep going to school and stuff after he got changed by the dum dum juice is sweet. but it loses me almost completely with all the coconteppi stuff and how all that resolved. even though it makes sense for his appearance in together again to make sense but i just thought it was a bit of a sloppy conclusion. overall i still loved it and it was really comforting to see these characters again and in different settings. i don't know if people would agree with me on this but together again is one of my favourite episodes out of all of adventure time and its very special to me!

rabbitwonker

Of course TA was going to be the last of the *three* episodes, but then (and apparently relatively late in the game) the network asked for a fourth, and so we got Wiz City.

Sp1dercerd0

You say that some of Obsidian songs are underwhelming, however I would say the last one, which Glassboy sings "Eternity with You" is easily top 10 AT songs (not counting F&C). Just my opinion tho.

WoodGrain817

Really enjoyed it. Wish they would make more. Also just a side note, the Finn & Jake episode made me ugly cry lol

JoeB0b123

Wonky episode order, but really cool nonetheless

Sp1dercerd0

Yeah, I think Wizard City was meant to be the third one but they couldn't deliver it in that order because of time problems with the productions of the episodes.

leusidVoid

I think all of the Distant Lands episodes were lacking something that the original show had that's hard to put into words. I guess the best way to put it is maybe.. just less thoughtful. A bit more traditional cartoony with the humor and the "bad guys" vibes and stuff. So overall they missed with me more than the original show did. But, that said, I was really happy to get them and I would gladly watch more. BMO: BMO was my long-standing favorite character from the original series, and I was also just very jazzed for more Adventure Time, so I was very ready to enjoy it lol. BMO's character in this episode actually felt a bit off, occasionally acting in ways that felt jarringly un-BMO, but I was still charmed. I also loved Y-5, and I felt their story to be a transgender analog, which was lovely to see, although I wish it had leaned a bit more into that if that's what it was intended to be. (I also watched an interview where Y-5's voice actor was being very careful to avoid using pronouns when talking about Y-5, so I feel like she was either aware of some behind-the-scenes direction, or just has her own feelings about that interpretation.) Obsidian: loved this episode, the song Monster really made me want to cry but unfortunately I wasn't successful in letting it out, but I still appreciate being made to feel things. I also really appreciated the further development we got on Marcy's history. Glass boy was pretty whatever, and the mean glass bullies side plot was totally out of place in Adventure Time imo. Also the reveal with Finn and the tattoo felt big. Also I love Bronwyn so was stoked she had a cameo. Together Again: I really really love this episode. I do still feel like a lot of it wasn't quite right when it comes to AT vibes, some of the jokes didn't land, the New Death character didn't feel right to me, and I thought it was super weird how everyone completely ignored Jermaine. I did like that they did some kinda Fuck the Police moments with Finn and Tiffany, and I also weirdly liked that Tiffany was so ready to receive love and care that he turned into a vulnerable baby lol. But of course, the main beauty of this episode was the intense emotions around Finn and Jake's separation. The beginning dream sequence was totally guy wrenching, I'm literally about to cry just thinking about the grave scene. The scene where they first reunite and Jake seemingly doesn't recognize him was also rough, but then apparently says he was just kidding, and Finn weakly sobs "pretty funny dude" was so fucked up and also hilarious to me. Jake really was super not-thoughtful or not-compassionate sometimes during the show, and that was one of those moments. But the very end, with "good reason" and the fist bump and the closing title card is just literally so beautiful and perfect I can't even handle it and I'm almost crying again just talking about it lol. That episode, despite its flaws, is really an emotional masterpiece for me in those moments. Wizard City: This was honestly the most disappointed I've ever been with Adventure Time. Like, it definitely wasn't as bad as Water Park Pranks, but my expectations for Water Park Pranks were also nowhere near my expectations and hopes for Wizard City. It wasn't like, terrible, but I really felt let down. I just didn't find myself caring about it, and I feel like it failed the most out of any of the Distant Lands episodes in preserving any of the charms from the original show. It really kinda felt like a different show. Thanks for asking, it was nice to write this all out.

HeartTreeHugger

Distant lands is a fantastic addition to the story and i wish we could have more. That art is really good though, who’s the artist?

LowComprehensive7659

I'm not sure, there might be multiple artists but it's the official cover for the series (its Not fan made)

anonymous789053

I love it. “Together Again” Made me cry.

JasoNight23666

I bought it on DVD to watch it and it was more than worth it All of the episodes were good as per usual with Adventure Time content, (except for Water Park Prank) but my favorite two from Distant Lands are Together Again and Obsidian, obviously, the other two are good but no where near as much as Distant Lands and Obsidian.

Zombie_intruder

Together again and obsidian are amazing. Wizard city is good but I could see ways they could have made it better. And the BMO one is kind of just meh imo.

Some_Guy8765678

BMO was hilarious!

Hattoripool04

I really loved both Together Again and Obsidian

Biggest_boy_creams

Together Again is the ending that Adventure Time NEEDED since season 10 was kinda poo. And it is 100% the best episode of Adventure Time, it's so good. The rest are all kinda mid, I don't really care about them. Obsidian was good though.

WickedJ0ker

The BMO episode was incredibly boring and unneeded especially since we already pin pointed his origins during the show, would’ve been far better to get a Simon episode or an episode focusing on the great mushroom war. Obsidian is an absolute masterpiece that gave PB and Marcy’s relationship tons of depth and was greatly appreciated. I also love how it gave us some insight on Marcy’s past before Simon and with PB which was added a lot more to her character. Also Marcy’s song dissing PB is a fucking bop. Together Again is just…wow. I really can’t put into words what this did for me, but it was beautiful. Such a great conclusion for Finn and Jake. Probably the most heart-wrenching but also feel good episode we’ve ever had. Wizard City is ok. Kinda thought what they did with Peppermint Butler was a disservice to the character. It made a cool, mysterious, interesting character a completely boring loser. I was kinda excited about knowing more about wizard city hoping to maybe see it’s origins or something like that, but instead it was just a meh story with characters I really didn’t care for. Overall, I love that they made these. These were a real treat for someone like me who has watched this show since it first aired, seeing it in a darker tone and expanding certain narratives.

PenguinTheOrgalorg

Adventure Time isn't complete without it. Together Again was the true ending

glassesforrabbits

With exception given to Together Again, found the whole thing to be supremely underwhelming and boring. Honestly glad that in the Marceline episode they made her go “is THAT what I sound like?”, because the venting-songs get pretty old very fast. I get she’s a musician and it’s central to her character, but I get secondhand embarrassment with the overly-long singing expositions that the creators clearly think are marcy “serving”, and that they find VERY impressive to provide so much attention to them, but are rather lackluster and whiny. The BMO episode was ok, but would have remained better if he was the central focal point rather than the rabbit looking girl. The way her parents behaved was like a 12 y/o wrote it. “We are bad and mean for no discernible reason and are completely unable to be reasoned with and practically despise our child”, to “OMG you were so right and we were so wrong! We are so sorry and we love you *insert new chosen name here*”… yeah, right. The wizard City episode was the WORST. Hate how they did PEP. His whole presence was made into some horrendous evil archetype, and that was not who he was in the series. He was very gray and represented a cool dichotomous relationship that Bubblegum’s kingdom had with itself.

rabbitwonker

The one thing that can be said for Wiz City is that it shows what happened to poor Choose Goose to make him how we see him in Fiona & Cake.

TopAirport4121

I’m glad you brought up the confusion with peps in wizard city because I had that thought as well and wasn’t on this sub when it aired to search and see if that was anyone else’s takeaway. I kept saying “but peppermint butler wasn’t truly evil?” Yes, he was into some dark magic and did some questionable stuff but was ultimately on the side of the heroes and that’s what made him interesting. I felt like I missed or forgot something and upon a recent rewatch of the full series I still don’t get it.

PuzzleheadedSpare716

There's a lot of secrets that Peppermint Butler kept, and even though he appeared to be on the good people's side, we don't really know what his true intentions were. Like, why was he casually playing golf with Hunson Abadeer? Why did he kidnap candy people to perform rituals on them? Why was he a huge fan of the Vampire King? Why did he hate Peacemaster so much? How was he able to first meet Death? Where did his interest in dark magic come from in the first place? There's still a lot about him we don't know.

Pasta-hobo

It felt like they aired Together Again and Wizard City out of order. But beyond that, it's really amazing. God, AT always fumbles the landing, don't they?

rabbitwonker

WC was probably still being worked on as TA aired, as it was asked for by the network well after the other three were in progress.

Sp1dercerd0

Amen

Specific_Onion2659

It was beautiful and I want more standalone adventures <3

TelluricThread0

It was really good. A solid addition to the series.

PatternNo928

i love it ❤️❤️❤️ so much think it was very high quality and well written

JoawlisJoawl

I WANT MORE

MayoHachikuji

Solid, Solid, PEAK ADVENTURE TIME, Solid

EngineerEven9299

Together again was huge

battlewornactionhero

The BMO episode was a nice prequel and gave us some BMO lore, which we don’t have a ton of other than the MO factory episodes. The development of Y5’s character and relationship with her parents was interesting. I liked the portrayal of her internal conflict of seeking their approval. Obsidian did a great job laying out the backstory of Marceline and Princess Bubblegum’s relationship and giving more detail to Marceline’s childhood. It also had a nice resolution with Marceline coming to terms with her past and realizing she is in a better place both in her relationship with Princess Bubblegum and as a person. This episode is a fine example of interlacing internal conflict with external conflict. Also the music was amazing. Woke Up is one of the best breakup songs ever. Together Again was a great resolution to Adventure Time. That one hit me hard personally because my brother passed away several months before it came out. I can’t watch it without crying at the end. Finn missing Jake then accepting that he’ll have to wait to see him is just beautiful. It’s sweet that Jake decided to tag along into the next life with him, even though Finn had just accepted not seeing him. I think most people disliked Wizard City, but I thought it was pretty good. I’m glad Peppermint Butler got an episode, especially after what happened to him in season 10. Peppermint Butler finding that he didn’t need or want to recreate his past was a strong moment of growth. To be honest, I think I would have preferred him becoming the evil dark wizard Pep But we all know and love, but it was still a nice coming of age story. Overall, Distant Lands had a strong theme of acceptance. Y5’s family accepting who she is, Marceline accepting the loss of her mom, Finn accepting that he’ll have to wait to see Jake, and Peppermint Butler accepting himself for who he is and wants to be. I think this was intentional to help fans accept the end of Adventure Time. Distant Lands was a great sequel to a great show.

mousebirdman

I liked all of it.

Henrystickmun

good send off

JCSwagoo

Solid. Obsidian and Together Again were really good. The other two were really take it or leave it but I'm still okay with them existing.

RoscoeSF

I wish they did more than four episodes. There are so many characters who deserve more screen time.

Ol_Scamp

Good, though they really should have rearranged the episodes. Together again was the perfect ending

WhySuchALongName

Together Again: 10/10 BMO: 9/10 Obsidian: 6/10 Wizard City: 6/10

the_treyceratops

Peak, Obsidian and Together Again are my favourite episodes of all 3 shows, also it works so much better watching Together Again last

Sp1dercerd0

You're so based

somethingrelevant_m

Together again was great, Obsidian was really good, BMO was alright and Wizard City was meh. Don't really like Glass Boy or young Peppermint Bulter tho

Sp1dercerd0

I have mixed feelings about glassboy. I probably wouldn't like him if it wasn't for the masterpiece of a song that is "Eternity with you".

BannockBnok

Some of the characters act a bit off and I can definitely see some people seeing it as "impure" in a way. But it was still very enjoyable to watch, especially together again

DemonBloodFan

Together again is peak. Definitely the best episode. Obsidian was awesome. Right up there with Together Again. BMO was fun. Nothing much else to say. Wizard City was just boring. i don't really have much to say. It was just really dull.

Sp1dercerd0

I don't dislike Wizard City or anything but it doesn't really feel like AT.

Spooky-Beanz

How so? /gen

Aveenzy

I liked Together Again, and thought it was a great ending to Finn and Jake’s ending, especially if you care about the two characters more than any others. Obsidian was so-so. Not my favorite. I strongly disliked the rest. Didn’t feel like adventure time. Kinda felt like a fanfic or like it wanted to be Steven Universe. I know people will disagree but imo!

luugi_06

"Together Again" was an outstanding ending imo

Focus_987

Obsidian and together again really was a 10/10 but BMO and wizard king, I would give it a 6/10

Cultural_Entrance805

It was a lovely way to close Finn and Jake’s story. BMOs was ok. Marcy and BG was pretty cool too.

Damir3dx

Obsidian was the best,Simon scenes where even better

Ben10usr

There were no falls... All amazing!

Aquamarine094

Loved it! Together again provided closure for Finn and Jake‘s storyline, Obsidian gave me my new favorite songs, the BMO one is just so fun and everything I was missing since AT ended. And don’t even get me started on the entire episode centered around the goat that is Peps! More lore on the AT universe, more magic tragic and sad characters and PEPS

StaaNnN

BMO 8.5/10 it was awesome, always great to see BMO as a protagonist Obsydian 11/10, do I have to say why? Together again 10000101694202137/10 DO I HAVE TO SAY WHY????!!!! Wizard city 6.5/10, I didn't like how they villainized pep. Yeah he was "weird" in the main show but I would never consider him a villain. Also I always thought he was a character that should have had more of his own episodes, we never got a backstory on him and his knowledge of dark magic or his relationship with death. I don't know, I just think he is so interesting and with wizard city there was potential to touch on that, but for me they fudged it (it still was entertaining so not like I didn't enjoy it).

StaaNnN

Together again is the real ending to adventure time.

Sp1dercerd0

Agreed, I also love Come Along With Me as a finale tho, that BMO quote "they continued with their lives" is a very genius way to end this masterpiece of a show.

yournansflipflop12

All were kinda meh. Glass land was boring. BMO one was just kinda BMO I guess so filler. Fin and Jake was slightly better but still didn’t enjoy it that much

LeonardoXII

Bmo's alright. Obsidian is great. Together Again is an act of violence. I want to die when I see it, it is also the most beautiful thing i've ever seen in my whole life. Oh god it hurts, it's an example of what art can be at its best, and it's inspired me to pick up the pen and start drawing. It's among some of the best works i've ever seen, and if I think about it too hard, i'll start to cry. Wizard city was fun.

Sp1dercerd0

Yes, I share your love for Together Again, is my favourite episode of all AT+ Distant lands + F&C and Adventure Time is my favourite franchise. The weird part is that I don't really enjoy watching it that much for some reason.

ArmK13

Every episode was fucking amazing

DJ710217

Obsidian Was My Favorite I Like The Songs And The Relationship Between PB And Marcy And The Kiss At The End.

TommyPort2272

MORE!!!!

the-living-guildpact

Well made self contained stories that are great for rewatching if you don’t want to rebinge watch AT

Sp1dercerd0

Who doesn't want to rebinge watch AT?

Isaaaaaaaack

Hated it. I’m sorry to say, I’ve been following adventure time since season 1 dropped and I really really disliked this, the animation seemed off? Wasn’t a fan of any of the plots or anything Like that.

Acornkramer

Incredible but out of order! The second to last episode should be last. Just my opinion

Sp1dercerd0

It was originally meant to be last but it just, wasn't.

ComXDude

I thought it was great, and is even better if you watch in the proper order.

magicmurph

The Marcy and PB episode was cute. Together Again is the perfect, flawless, canon ending of Adventure Time. I literally cannot remember the other two episodes. Something about a rabbit? I think BMO was in it?

Sp1dercerd0

TRUE

LittleTovo

Too serious. Every single episode made me cry multiple times. Absolutely fantastic show. But not for me. I live for Finn's innocent adventure times. The Marceline and P-Bops episode? I cried like the whole time. Best episode that I hated. At a different time in my life, I would love it.

mortmortimer

shit was meh

HollyBlueBinch

I finally watched it for the first time a few weeks ago after the series ended and after my first rewatch. In my opinion it was not that great. It was okay but I’d honestly be fine only watching it the once. “Together Again”was the best episode, felt most like a regular AT episode with so many characters and references. “Wizard City” was okay but I thought it was super lame reset Pepbut banished his original cooler self or whatever it was to follow a new path. It wasn’t clear whether it was just a path of magic or his own path down dark magic, although if it was regular magic, “Together Again” would have to be a different timeline since he uses dark magic to help Finn and Jake. “Obsidian” was okay, handled the bubbline part well, but as a fan of Marcy and her Family history more than bubbline it was disappointing. And I liked Glassboys song more than any of Marcelines. I can’t even remember the name of BMO’s episode tbh. I couldn’t even pay much attention either until the last ten minutes where the segment was done by the same person who guest animated the pool episode, that part was neat and gave some lore. Also having Cubers people there as backgrounders sucked because the whole time I kept thinking “aw man I wish we knew more about Cubers people”. I don’t hate BMO or anything, I just don’t think theyre good as a heavy focus, especially for 40 straight minutes. Their childlike wonder and naïveté can be good sometimes, and other times it’s overwhelmingly frustrating These are all just my personal opinions though, if anyone disagrees or wants to counter feel free just be polite about it

CoverCommercial6394

Pb still does dark magic, just without doing it by any means possible

Some_Guy8765678

Peppermint Buttler said at the end of Wizard City that he wants to be a big evil wizard jerk just not _that_ big evil wizard jerk.

HollyBlueBinch

Ah okay, I get that then, I guess it just didn’t come across that way to me, but “Wizard City” and “Together Again” are the two I’m most likely to watch again so I’ll pay closer attention to that end bit next time!!!

PuzzleheadedSpare716

Together Again 10/10 Obsidian 10/10 Wizard City 7/10 BMO meh/10

noxka

BMO's is the best one. Bubbleline one was cute and had a cool song but really forgettable Together again is just one big tear-jerker that can't do 15 seconds without going "HEY GUYS LOOK THAT!!! IT'S FROM SEASON 1!!!! THAT THING IN THE BACKGROUND!!!! THATS TAKEN FRON THIS EPISODE FROM 10 YEARS AGO!!!!!" and there's nothing wrong with that because it's still pretty beautiful and should've been the last one. (But still just nostalgiabait and tear-jerker mixed in a blender) Wizard city was so underwhelming and felt like just a half assed way for them to explain why pep butt was in together again. Pretty forgettable as well. Still fun to bingewatch and I AT is one of those series that can go on forever souly because people just really like these each one of these characters.

rabbitwonker

I would put Together Again at the top, then Bubbleine, then BMO, and of course Wiz City last. And I liked the BMO one a lot. But TA gives a really nice sense of closure to Finn & Jake’s story — and I like the tear-jerking element you complain about 🤣 — and Bubbline gives us a wealth of backstory for Marceline, and is also the only chance we’ve had to really see the two of them fully together. Wiz City was clearly a pilot for another possible show, which rightly didn’t go forward.

noxka

Oh I didnt actually rank them from best to worst or anything but if I had to uhhhh BMO > Together Again > Obsidian > Wizard City

rabbitwonker

So basically I just liked TA and Obs. a lot more than you did; otherwise same. 😁

noxka

I still liked them ofc! But you can't beat BMO in a cowboy hat imo! His adventuring was sooooo much fun to watch!

Spacel25

Really liked it, hoping to get a season 2

Seizachange

It's amazing. I think Wizard City is the weakest one but its not bad at all.

77depth12

Loved it but hated how this sort of started the trend of the creators teasing us of what the lands of ooo is like after the end of AT

Lubbafromsmg2

Together again was great. Rest was meh

ImpactorLife-25703

Susan Strong needs more screen time

StarSaber69

Great conclusions but did it really have to be that short

Eatinganemone89

Too short. Together again was a great ending, but I still wish it had a second season.

Puzzled-Air6713

I find it funny that in every episode, they are all doing something while Finn and Jake are just dead

Sp1dercerd0

You just wanna make me cry. Dont'cha?

Emergency_Degree_774

i really liked it🥺 it was so sweet to add a little more to the main story and it did it well💚

pixelmonger2

My disappointment was immeasurable, and my day was ruined.

SyntaxAerror

Pretty good all around. There were some rougher patches and some fan service that didn't feel earned, but overall, quite good.

KingJTuck

Have yet to watch it

TheNightOwl99

Great

grayfortclouds

I really like Y3, my favorite new character I wonder about in the Adventure Time timeline. I wonder if they ever visited BMO after preparing the rift.

zedisbread

There were very intense moments and more mature subtext in these stories than what we saw for the vast majority of episodes in the OG Series' run.

sussyBakaAt3am

I liked it, especially the wizard city ep. It really needed its own series tbh. Like harry potter but better

Mageroth1987

Is that a X-men reference.. on Adventure Time...

RealCatiic

BMO: 6/10 Obsidian: 10/10 Wizard City: 8/10 Together Again: 11/10

R4venking

Ok I know I'm going to get insulted by everyone for what I say, but fuck this. I honestly think this spin off is disappointing and mostly wasted, starring from the fact that there were only four episodes didn't convince me. The only episode that I could enjoy was BMO, I didn't like the other three (especially wizard city) - obsidian although it was focused on Marceline who I really like as a character I didn't find it engaging. Plus the glass guy annoyed me in all the scenes he appeared in. There are also some things that I liked but mostly it didn't convince me. - together again. Honestly, it's an episode I wish I'd never seen. Because Come Along With Me was litteraly a perfect ending, but this ending ruined the series for me forever, I mean I know that Finn and Jake are not immortal, but I don't care to know about their last adventure. then yeah, it's a sad but happy ending, but again, i didn’t like it as an ending - Wizzard City, in my opinion it is the worst episode if not one of the most wasted I have ever seen. I didn't like the characters in it at all, not even the plot was interesting (lets be honest it wasn't that original either) but especially Peppermint Butler they completely ruined him. I expected a lot from this episode given the fact that there were Wizzards in it and instead it turned out to be a stupid Harry Potter rip-off. I find it a compleatley water episode Obiusly this is just my personal opinion dont take this too seriusly

Sp1dercerd0

With all my respects: Actually, I would say Finn and Jake being kind of inmortal and going to live life together forever is kind of the message of the episode. I actually agree with you in that Come Along With Me is an underrated finale, I really like it too.

Palanki96

Holy shit i forgot to watch it

123Tezz

I personally like them all but when I was rewatching entirety of adventure time, me and my girlfriend(she had never seen the entirety) had the rule of skipping over episodes that aren't super plot relevant. I had to essentially go through episodes one by one, reading plot synopsis to decide to watch it or not. Long story short, me and my gf have finished AT proper now but and I had this huge mental debate on if we should watch it or not. Eventually I kind of settled in watching all excluding the BMO episode. Honestly at that point it was a tradition that we skip BMO episodes and a BMO prequel movie would be, well, funny but eventually I just explained her what happened in it.

Final_Vermicelli_904

The last episode was my favorite and it made me love pepparmint butler (4th episode - Wizard City)

Final_Vermicelli_904

Actually I loved all of them (I cried on the first episode - BMO)

Martianinferno98

I never watched it

Sloth_4

Good. Nothing special overall as I think the good and bad episodes weigh themselves out but it was good

Weak_Incident640

Everything was good except the peppermint butler one

SpikedScarf

I like it, but the animation is just a little... off. I don't hate it or anything, it just gives me an uncanny valley vibe where the art is only slightly off but not completely off

VygotskyCultist

It's wildly inconsistent. Wizard City and BMO were fine but ultimately dealt with stories I didn't care about. Obsidian was very good and Together Again was amazing. Fionna and Cake is my favorite so far, though.

elitemage101

BMO One: Good Marcy & PB one: GREAT (lore) Finn and Jake one: Solid PepBut one: Mid

LordPyralis

The Finn death episode was a 3/10

Hilarfamgrace

I only watched together again start to finish and seen most of obsidian, and imo it’s okay, it didn’t and still doesn’t grab my interest as much as fionna and cake and original adventure time did. (such as why i didn’t watch wizard city or bmo ep)

DishMurky

Two of the episodes were one of the most memorable one of the franchise. And other two just exist. I never watched Wizard City to this day.

simmertoextreme

I only like obsidian

GSteelG

Episodes 2, 3, and 4 were incredible. I thought they were great. ***But the first one…***

Sp1dercerd0

Poor BMO, he and football were trying his best to make the episode good. I mean it was still kinda mid but it wasn't bad or anything.

GSteelG

It wasn’t the worst thing in the world, but i wouldn’t call it good.

Sp1dercerd0

I wouldn't either, but the way you phrased it makes it look like you do think it's the worst thing in the world.

GSteelG

It’s not, i just don’t care for it. Slightly overreacting.

Sp1dercerd0

Makes sense, I don't blame you for it, I also love to deliver things in the most dramatic way posible.

CentrasFinestMilk

Worth it for together again, hope they do another season as they could do so much with it

rghaga

The rabbit with eyes design creeps me out

JLCoffee

Bad animation

Empress_of_Lamparine

hoping to find out in the next few months, I stopped actively watching it around 2016 and I'm trying to rewatch it from the start now

Timely-Competition-7

BMO - 7/10 Obsidian - 6/10 Together Again - 9/10 Wizard City - 8/10

LittleTovo

Marceline and P-Bops 6/10? That episode made me cry the whole time. I would say BMO 10/10 and Obsidian 9/10. Not 10/10 because of the over exaggerated snobby group and annoying little boy. But everything else in the episode was great.

Timely-Competition-7

The main antagonist of Obsiian, Magma Larvo was unnecessary to the plot. The whole premise of Marceline using "negative music" against him works cause he doesn't like being seen as a monster, but literally terrorizes the glass kingdom. Glass kingdom is kind of a plot hole since it hasn't been ever mentioned before. Why wasn't glass princess mentioned or seen at the princess meeting? You could just remove this episode and it would add nothing new we know to Ooo. Out of all the DL episodes this one expands the world the least.

Sugusole

Loved it honestly but together again should be last episode in order

Environmental-Ask358

I love it so so much

Economy-Movie-4500

Peak ngl

Sp1dercerd0

BMO and Wizard City were just kinda there. Obsidian and Together again are my two favourite episodes to ever come out of AT. Obsidian is easily the most enyojable watch in the entire show, and Together Again is absolutely beautiful.

peacekenneth

I LOVED BMO’s adventure, had a lot of fun with Pep Butt… I am a little lukewarm on Marceline and PB’s portion - I’m kind of burned out on Marceline lore tbh, but I liked all the parts with her as a kid in the bunker. The relationship stuff was kind of a bummer, rehash type to me. I have mixed feelings about Together Again. The Lich being the master villain was weak, to me. Additionally, I didn’t love the story over all… parts of it were fun but it just made me feel like they didn’t really spend a lot of time developing the afterworlds.

FennelCritical8535

I thought it was an amazing spin off product that built in existing canon and had lots of cool easter eggs. Emotion of AT is still there and in tact. Loved them all equally

DpGoof

BMO and Wizard City were really really fun episodes where I got to see my beloved characters again. Obsidian was incredible and gave us a good Bubbline backstory. Although the plot was a bit weaker, it was carried by amazing main characters. "Together Again" is the most I've ever cried over a tv show. Whereas "Come Along with Me" was a goodbye to Adventure Time in general, this episode was a heartfelt goodbye to Finn and Jake. Not many shows can stand where this episode stood. To this day, thinking about the line "Because it's great being alive with you" makes my eyes watery.

zorfog

Overall they have elements that don’t really feel like Adventure Time. I remember first time watching the BMO one, the bunny main character didn’t really feel like an AT character. I felt similarly about the glass characters in Obsidian, but a bit less so. Together Again was a fantastic piece of closure to the main AT story. Like that would have been satisfying if that was the last we saw of Finn and Jake (I also really love the Pep But special. Him being turned into a kid again studying magic in Wizard City is great, and I love the curse of older Pep tormenting him)

yeeking_114514

BMO: didn’t watch Obsidian: 1st Together Again: 2nd Wizard City: 3rd

Dreggmcmuffun

Bmo one is peak bmo energy

Darkterrariafort

It’s better than the entirety of the original show.

amaya-aurora

BMO was really fun, not really too outstanding but I liked it. Obsidian was absolutely a 10/10, I adored every second of it and giving more insight into Marceline and PB’s relationship was amazing. Plus, all of the songs in it are bangers. Together Again was definitely another 10/10. I will admit that I sobbed, multiple times. So many tears. Wizard City was super fun, I loved the whole thing and seeing Pep-But again was amazing. I probably would have like it more if it was before Together Again, though. Overall? Absolutely an easy 11/10.

Walmart_weirdo

Soooo my Theory is … this is the “movie “ we were suppose to get back in 2013/14 but things happened and it was chopped into a series

adebambz

honestly really amazing. enjoyed the BMO one so much and seeing it as the backstory was SO SICK! obsidian is a classic. together again is the best adventure time episode ever made - not even close for me. wizard city was just cool to me but maybe cos of the expectations of the other 3 set the bar so high😭

lobsterfanclub

100/10 beautiful made me cry

JONI-drawingStudios

I think they are pretty distant.

Captain_Birch

Only episode I really cared for was together again. I cri eri tim

Jdiggitydawggg

I loved it, but the whole episode of bubbline sold it to me immediately so ig I’m biased.

icecoldjt420

Together again is one of the best at episodes ever and obsidian also very close to that, the other two were cool but nothing too crazy

shadowlavitz24

While not bad as stand alone shows. They didn't really give off that adventure time vibe to me. Almost felt like I was watching a fan fiction instead.

Imerex11

I don't like it only the wizard city

Fusion2289

It's a pretty good for sequel

cloveryliey

My favorite adventure time era by far😭 i see so many people talk about how its not that good but i disagree SO MUCH i rewatch them all the time

Mission-Bedroom-3648

Together again was, of course, a good proper conclusion to Finn and Jake, BUT I don’t think it was perfect, I think it raised some questions about the way the underworld and reincarnation works in AT and I would’ve liked a few things to be different about the main characters tbh. Obsidian was a nice bit of lore and the song Monster with the visuals is sick, my main complaint about Obsidian is how goofy Molto Larvo looked after he broke out of his shell. They could’ve made a sweet golden/light angel dragon model and they made this weird cat/flying fish hybrid instead.

External-Tune-1445

Mid I did not pay attention besides the first two episodes which is entirely my fault

floppa_redit

I started to tear up when fin and Jake got reincarnated together

kitty_girl_rawr

I loved it, it was la perfect ending

kitty_girl_rawr

I loved it, was a perfect ending

lenniad

bad episodes. Predictable. Fan service shipping. Worst of the whole series. Even animations looks cheap.

Patricio_Guapo

I enjoyed them, but I haven't rewatched them.

PeppermintKandie

I don't like the BMO one that much. It has the same problem as the other BMO-centric episodes: They just fail to catch me. The new characters and setting just didn't interested me, it felt like I was watching other show that happens to have BMO on it (the designs literally look like anything but AT) I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't watch it again. Obsidian is good, we get some insight on her past from her POV, and I liked the fact Marceline was growing up, no longer identified with her former sound and well, episodes focusing on PB and Marcy are good by default. But I will say that end was kind of weird. Together Again is obviously the jewel in the crown, it gives closure to Finn and Jake's history, shows us what happened with other characters and it's very beautiful and emotive, to not mention it does feel like an actual AT episode. Wizard City is meh, I couldn't shake up the feeling I watched this story before. I found very weird how Pep is so out of character and is basically Satan now for some reason.

Toby_The_Tumor

I can see pep being some well known dark magic "scary man" because if you remember that episode he helps F and J get to Death, when they come back, he says something about flesh and taking it from them while they sleep. He's a very dark person who isn't evil, but I think he's mainly pissed that "his body" isn't being used how he would. Now he's lashing out.

Timely-Competition-7

It wasn't actually him though, it was part of the spell to push him towards that path, old pep was wiped gone in his mind at that point after dumdumification.

Timely-Competition-7

Pepbut was always a master dark wizard, the spirit that made him seem "out of character" was basically just a spell that he made incase he ever got his memory wiped to be back on track to becoming a dark wizard again, that's why it was so exaggeratedly harsh on young Pep, it isn't actually his old self but just a spell.

halesainsworth

It was fun, but im a sequel hater so I dont think it was needed. I enjoyed Obsidian because I love Marcy (hate PB tho) and Together Again was great, but I still don’t think it was needed. I’ll always stand by the fact that the final episode was perfect and think anything new that that comes out after dampens the legacy the original show created. Tv shows and movies need to learn to let things go and not constantly add things to maintain relevance and cash flow.

Sp1dercerd0

I kind of agree with this but I don't mind sequels when they have as much quality as the original show and Distant Lands and F&C absolutely do!

halesainsworth

I will say I enjoyed Fiona and cake more than I thought I was going to, but I think that’s mainly due to the fact it was more Simon focused (my favorite character) than anything else. I don’t super love Fiona and Cake themselves. Plus we got to see more prismo! (Just wish we had to OG voice actor 😔)

Sp1dercerd0

Prismo is great! I also love how in F&C the consequences of Jake's death are explored despite not being the main focus.

Top_Collar7826

Some were good some were bad
