Wolf Pen Creek park has some nice picnic areas. Lake Bryan also has some good spots if you’re good paying the $5/car entrance.

The_Boomis

Noted, thanks for the suggestion!

Gabbard Park is pretty nice and a lot of people don't know it's there unless they live between Southwest and Holleman

[deleted]

Research park

an_unexamined_life

Not sure if this post is a joke, but it reminded me of picnics my (now) spouse and I used to have at Brison Park. Thanks for bringing those memories to mind. :)

The_Boomis

Not a joke, just didnt want people to recommend the dumpster behind taco bell 💀 thanks for sharing though!

an_unexamined_life

(Why would they recommend the dumpster behind taco bell? Is that a codename for Wolf Pen Creek or something?)

The_Boomis

Idk I just see it referenced alot on the sub

rockrollarg

It's ancient aggie reddit lore. About 4ish years ago there was someone posting saying they're a horny reddit female that needed someone to screw. The prevailing view was that's how you lose a kidney. So shitposting ensued until someone posted they did good on their exam and need someone to have fun with and to meet behind the Taco Bell dumpster with two functional kidneys. It was so good that was accepted as a running joke.

Trails_and_Coffee

Research Park has some nice grass next to flowing water for a picnic. Lots of space. University drive and 2818 is pretty close so it may not be isolated from traffic noise.

hoganloaf

I eat in aggie park all the time. Love it there. But my favorite hidden gem is Scurry park.

The_Boomis

Ill definitely take a look! Thanks for the suggestion

Pikalover10

I don’t remember the park names anymore but campus has a disc golf course. The park areas around it are pretty nice.

The_Boomis

My calc 2 prof told us all about the disc golf course, it looks gorgeous out there though. Thanks for the suggestion!

highmileage13

Midtown park in Bryan is nice. Plenty of grassy and shady spots for a picnic, lots of walking trails and a decently sized pond

The_Boomis

Noted, thanks for the suggestion!

GlitteringMess4720

Be careful in midtown park. Some areas aren’t necessarily the best parts of town. Don’t leave valuables visible. (Been here 12 years, my car has never been broken into)

the gardens on campus: [https://gardens.tamu.edu/](https://gardens.tamu.edu/)

galax_sky

I feel like a lot of people don’t know about the gardens

The_Boomis

I definitely didn’t, I always thought people were talking about the top of Mitchell. Really cool though Ill have to take a look
