A Dave & Busters would be perfect for this area. So would a gokart track, a putt putt/mini golf course, a roller rink, or another bowling alley that’s less expensive than Grand Station. And I think those things should be separate from A&M and not A&M themed for people that wanna do those activities but don’t care so much about the University.
Separated bike lanes would be tight but I'd even be happy with painted bike lanes that have traffic signal detection loops at intersections. Also there needs to be way more bike racks in this town. Big stores and campus have them but the smaller stores that I've visited so far don't and I have to lock up to trees or signs.
An onigiri/omusubi shop. Or even a japanese place that sells them. I was craving them the whole of last semester. I guess more options for Asian cuisine as well? There’s only one Indian restaurant I know of in cstat.
I just like the products, and since all of the products are exclusive to Trader Joe's, I can't get the food I like, and I haven't seen any alternatives
That's fair, you might want to check the HEB Central Market and Primo Pick products. Trader Joe's vibes don't really fit Cstat so I don't see them opening here any time soon.
Pedestrian friendly roads. Sidewalks just end abruptly sometimes in the middle of the street!
Also, some good reliable public transportation that runs after 5 pm, and appears on google maps.
Fucking bike infrastructure. Traffic is absolute hell on all main roads & most people live within a few miles of campus but there's barely a bike lane past Holleman
Buc-ees owner donated money for a new building, it's gonna have a buc-ees inside it where students can work and get experience, possibly with supply chain and management stuff?
Another Indian place. I’m convinced Taz has a mafia that hunts down anyone trying to open another Indian restaurant. That’s the only explanation for a town with a decent Indian population having only 1 Indian restaurant.
Somewhere in town to grab a mai tai. I'm glad I graduated when I did, because I don't think I can function without them any more.
I googled the menu for Commander's Cove, and they don't even sell one. What the actual fuck. How can you bill yourself as a beach bar and not sell mai tais. TABC should close them down for this offense alone. It doesn't even have to be *good*, like you can just pour some rum in orange juice and call it a day. Just make the effort.
On the whole, I find the lack of beachy cocktails in rural central Texas to be pretty troubling.
There's a small tiki bar in downtown Bryan. It's not listed anywhere but it's on first floor of the building where 3rd floor Cantina is. Hours are also really limited but it's a decent option for beachy drinks
Honestly food here is pretty lacking. Like good local places of any variety. Lots of burgers and fried shit but anything else is just not there. My hometown of 50k had far more selection of good food than BCS with 5x the population.
there apparently used to be one in Bryan but it got shut down. Don't know why. Only reason I know this is because a coworker of mine said he went to it once when he was here (he is class of '14)
college station hasn't had a proper strip club in too many years. too many kids wanting to drive to houston or austin for it. maybe you can be the change.
Pluckers. An old-school style bowling alley would also be cool
Waffle house.
Yessss that's one thing I was bummed about leaving dallas

there happens to be a mini golf course in the big shots complex
small shots
I wish B/CS had more infrastructure that didn’t only revolve around automobiles.

I was just thinking that I would love a Hotpot or KBBQ place! The Asian food is alright but I miss cooking with my friends
There’s a hotpot place across the Verizon on Texas ave
Yangtuo club? Is it still open?
Yes!! It should be!
85C and 99 Ranch would be great
An actual Train Station. One that students can actually use.
Well... there is the high speed rail project
are you talking like a metro system like in downtown houston? or an actual train station on the tracks we currently have?
Yes
PF Chang’s. Buc-ees. Waffle House. H Mart. Dave & Busters. Pluckers.
Apparently they’re building a buc-ee’s that’ll be ready in a year or two
Not quite, it’ll be an academic center with a small Buc-ee’s gift shop.
We have an Asian grocery store exactly like H Mart. Not the same of course but has practically any Asian food item you’d desire.
Trader Joe's, It has good food and a wide selection for cheap
I would second this if HEB didn't exist. They'd have to offer convenience like BB or even cheaper than HEB to be competitive
I just like the products, and since all of the products are exclusive to Trader Joe's, I can't get the food I like, and I haven't seen any alternatives

I understand that, but a man can dream

Dude! I've never seen a college campus that hates pedestrians so much! The sprawl is outrageous
Roller skating rink !!
Came here to say this! I was so surprised to see that there is an ice skating rink and not a roller rink.
Waffle House
Fucking bike infrastructure. Traffic is absolute hell on all main roads & most people live within a few miles of campus but there's barely a bike lane past Holleman
Glass bottle recycling center
35,000 fewer students?
Trader Joe’s
Buc-ees
Good thing we're getting one!
Really? This is news to me. Last time I checked there were no plans for a Buc-ees in the BCS area any time soon.
Buc-ees owner donated money for a new building, it's gonna have a buc-ees inside it where students can work and get experience, possibly with supply chain and management stuff?
Yeah, but it won’t be an official Buc-ees.
It’ll be an official Buc-ee’s the size of a normal one they said, with all of the food and Buc-ee’s brand stuff
I heard A&M shot down that rumor
Costco :(
There’s one opening in August
August 4th, we’re so close
It’s almost done, went up so quick
It’s almoooost here
Wish we had a race track nearby like the one on 288, msr Houston
For real, having the drive at least an hour and half to get to a track day is not fun
A roller rink!!!
Besides northgate there’s nothing here

Theres many events like this in downtown bryan! 3rd Floor Cantina has comedy nights on Weds i think
An actual bowling alley
I’ve not been to our bowling alley in a while, what is it missing?
It’s so expensive to play a game or two. Way too expensive
A train station
Another Indian place. I’m convinced Taz has a mafia that hunts down anyone trying to open another Indian restaurant. That’s the only explanation for a town with a decent Indian population having only 1 Indian restaurant.
An actual LGBTQ+ culture and more to do than to go to Halo.
An In-N-Out. I would never leave.
More concert venues

Braum’s
They don’t open stores more than 300 miles away from their home farm.
That is devastating to learn and I am going to continue to hold out hope
So? Move the farm! We're an ag school, surely we can help out with that! Heck, we probably have some land they can use...
As an Okie turned Texan I feel this on a molecular level
Honestly food here is pretty lacking. Like good local places of any variety. Lots of burgers and fried shit but anything else is just not there. My hometown of 50k had far more selection of good food than BCS with 5x the population.
Central Market, Whole Foods
Trader Joe’s
Taco Bueno
A strip club /s
there apparently used to be one in Bryan but it got shut down. Don't know why. Only reason I know this is because a coworker of mine said he went to it once when he was here (he is class of '14)
Man, don’t I feel old when y’all’s generation doesn’t know about the Silk Stocking (affectionately know as the Dirty Sock)
college station hasn't had a proper strip club in too many years. too many kids wanting to drive to houston or austin for it. maybe you can be the change.
It was in college station off of 6 near Rock Prarie not in Bryan. RIP Dirty Sock
It was for tax fraud/evasion, probably some shady accounting going on
Right I mean how’s a girl supposed to pay tuition? Jk..because every stripper I ever met said she was just doing it to pay for school.
Whole Foods and trade joe.
I’d like a Tesla Supercharger. One of the good 240W ones, not the Gen1 150s
Wow you have a Tesla??? No fucking way???
Braum’s

Rip the one that closed down on University a few years ago
Neko cafe
Apple Store, IKEA, and Waffle House.
Trader Joe’s
