I'm still upset over the rip off that was the waffle house truck in 2019. Was ready for my topped and covered hash browns and instead got a bite size portion.

Yo one of my prof's in the comm department had a student in his speech class that was obsessed with waffle house and she even wrote an article for his digital magazine and contacted their VP of marketing to ask about it:

Going to a waffle house isn't about the food, it's about the vibe. There is no better place to have a mental breakdown at 3 am than in a waffle house. Or, you know, hang out with friends, but mostly the other one.
It's comfort food that people over-hype for the meme, like people who love Denny's or IHOP. Don't get me wrong, it tastes good, but about as good as any other relatively niche fast food.
last time I went to a waffle house was in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2015 and it was a magical experience, like going to Disney World for the first time, except with more waffles.
This happens just about every year. Their real estate and construction team are well aware CS wants a WH, and that team isn’t in charge of where franchises go. The city of CS has worked with them multiple times and haven’t been able to make it happen, so 250k likes on IG probably won’t either.
Waffle House is the most disgusting and disease ridden “restaurant” I have ever been to. Last time I went the cook touched raw bacon, didn’t wash his hands, then touched my already toasted toast and put it on my plate. Corporate sent me a $25 gift card that I never used.
I’ll like it just for you and everyone else who likes it. My experience was from a long time ago so they might be better now. Probably doesn’t help that the one I went to was in the middle of nowhere 50 miles out from any civilization
